We spend a lot of time napping and cuddling but just as much playing! One of the cat’s favorite times is dinner when they get a confirmed hug and kiss along with supper! It’s important to me that they know they’re loved regardless of how the day went. Litter boxes are scooped daily.
“Shannah is amazing! We have never met but I completely trust her coming into my home and walking my babies. I know they are being cared for well when I’m at work thanks to Shannah!”

About: We are Jeni and Ashlie- we have been loving dog parents who have experience caring for dogs for most of our lives. We have raised three rescue dogs together who aged from 10 to 14 years, with varying training and health needs. We are also experienced with sitting dogs for friends and family members, up to one month at a time. We are a family of 4 with two young kids who are not ready to commit to a dog of our own again, yet, and instead would like to spend time loving yours while you’re away! With us, your dog will be treated as one of our family members as long as they are with us. For in-home care, dogs must be friendly, well-behaved, potty trained, young children and family oriented. Well behaved means no digging, chewing or pottying in the home. While we have experience with territorial and reactive dogs, due to children in the home, there is a zero tolerance to aggressive behaviors towards children or people. We are experienced with dogs of all ages and sizes, and children will be monitored for positive interactions with dogs in our care. No cat care provided due to allergies. While we work full-time, we are lucky to work from home a few days per week. We also have a dog door if your pup is fully trustable with free roam in the backyard and house. Fenced yard - large yard; No other dogs in home, we have fish; Family environment; Dog door available, if appropriate; Can crate dog if preferred
About: Growing up with several dogs, I’ve spent my entire life around pets of all breeds, sizes, and energy levels. I understand canine body language and love tailoring my care to what each dog needs—whether that’s an energetic outdoor walk or a cozy, quiet afternoon of companionship. Today, I am a proud cat mom, which has given me plenty of practice with feline routines, handling specialized feeding needs, and building trust with more independent or sensitive cats. As a current graduate student, I offer a reliable, detail-oriented approach to pet care along with a flexible schedule, ensuring your pets receive focused attention, plenty of updates, and the same loving care I give my own. As a graduate student with evening classes, my weekdays are completely open from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM. This dedicated window makes me ideal for routine mid-day dog walks, lunchtime potty breaks, and afternoon drop-in visits, ensuring your pets receive focused care, fresh water, and exercise while you're at work. When caring for pets in your home, safety and trust are my top priorities. I will follow your precise instructions for feeding, routines, and medication to maintain a comfortable environment. I double-check all doors, gates, and secure leashes during walks to ensure your pets are always safe, happy, and well-cared for.
“So grateful Jennie was able to walk both of my dogs all week while my husband was out of town. They came back so happy to have had some exercise. Will definitely hire her in the future. Thank you!”

About: I'm a writer who works from home. I have experience with dogs large and small, old and young, well behaved and a little naughty. I have two dog-tolerant cats. So long as your dog doesn't want to eat them, we're good. I can also feed and exercise horses if you need that service. I work from home. You dog will get one to two walks a day plus lots of snuggle time on the couch. With your permission, we might even take a hike! I have fenced yard where I provide space for supervised zoomies, potty breaks, and sniffing. I put the doggie bed in the office with me as a I work. I only crate per your request.

About: I work from home, so your dog won't spend the day waiting for someone to walk through the door. I'm right there with them all day long. My townhome sits right next to a park, so we're out walking and playing whenever the mood strikes, rain or shine. After college, I spent 2 years working as a veterinary assistant, so I've gotten comfortable with all breeds, sizes, and temperaments, such as nervous rescues, bouncy puppies, calm seniors - all of it. I also have experience boarding a dog that is blind. I don't have kids or pets of my own, so when your pup stays with me, they get my full attention. Beds, couches, wherever they want to curl up, they've got the run of the place. My goal is for them to feel loved and comfortable at their home away from home. I currently work from home remotely; my schedule is very flexible, which means lots of time to play, walk, and cuddle with your pup throughout the day. I'm available for boarding any day of the week, and pickup/drop off times are flexible to fit your travel schedule. My townhome does not have a yard, but I have a small balcony patio and live right next to a park with great walking trails. So we're out walking almost every day. It's just my adult brother at home (no other pets or kids), so your pup gets my full attention. I have a crate available if your dog prefers to sleep in one or is working on crate training, but otherwise pups are welcome on all the furniture and can make themselves at home.
“Sydney has been so helpful! We had to urgently switch our daycare for our pup and she is so good about taking our dog out for a long walk and even hangs out with her for a bit to get her acclimated back in the house afterwards. Would highly recommend her for your pet care needs!”

“Amanda was great at communicating her timing, as well as letting me know how my dog was doing. It seemed like he really enjoyed his walk! I also really appreciated all of the photos she shared.”

About: Please note the following when making a request: - If a drop-in visit will require your dog(s) to be taken out on a leash (not just let into your yard), my walk rate will apply - For walks and drop-ins, a 2 hr time range is required for each visit's arrival time I have had dogs and cats as pets from childhood, and have always been an all around animal lover. I used to work at PetSmart in the pet hotel. I worked there for a little over a year and it gave me a ton of valuable experience in caring for people's pets and facilitating friendly interactions between dogs. I currently work as a server Thursday-Saturday and am just looking for a side gig and would love to take care of people’s pets! I’m free Sunday-Wednesday and am available during the day as well as in the evenings. I am careful to never overbook clients to ensure that your pet is always given plenty of love and attention while you are away! I will always be careful to follow any instructions given by owners. Through my experience working with pets, I have become well-versed in dog behavior and am capable of noticing early signs of fear, aggression, and anxiety and know how to prevent these things from escalating.

We love Jennie! Bella sits by the front door and when she sees her coming up the walk she does zoomers because she’s so excited! Jennie is always friendly and on time! It’s so wonderful to leave Bella in the hands of someone you trust and who takes such good care of your fur baby. Highly recommend!!!
Pam came over to spend some time with Loki Wednesday morning. Pam and my husband, Jim, walked Loki up to the park and Pam had the opportunity to walk Loki on her own. Jim said Loki was very responsive to Pam and Pam was confident and comfortable with Loki. Loki is a rescue we adopted about 7 months ago. He is very shy and slow to warm up to new people. Yesterday was the 3rd time Loki has met Pam and Jim and I could not be happier with how he is taking to Pam. Pam is very gentle and reassuring with Loki. We are so appreciative of the time and attention Pam is willing to give Loki before she cares for him for an extended period.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
