I found out I needed surgery in another state at the beginning of the year and didn’t have a lot of time to find someone who could stay in our house and watch our cats. When I had reached out to Amanda, she was incredibly understanding and sympathetic about the situation and agreed to watch our kitties during the duration we were gone. It was the best decision we have ever made and we definitely plan to book with them again if we ever need help in the future or plan to go on vacation. They agreed to stay in our house to watch our kitties the whole time we were gone and even helped us manage a few things when some complications arose during my surgery. Amanda kept in touch to update us on our kitties and the house to let us know how things were going, and sent pictures of the cats consistently to show us how were doing. She even let me FaceTime the kitties while I was in the hospital which made my whole day and helped make the stay better. She went above and beyond for my family and my cats, and helped us to make sure everything at home was taken care of while we were away! The best thing is our cats absolutely loved her and Zach. She would send pictures of all three of our cats lying in their laps or cuddled up by them. They played with our cats and kept them entertained with squirrel/bird videos on the television, and took such amazing care of our precious babies. I can’t thank them enough for everything that they did, they are incredibly amazing people. She also went above and beyond while staying at our house. We have water bowls outside for the wild animals that she would fill up, even though she didn’t have to do it at all and she would check out mail, keep an eye out for packages that may come in, and overall just made sure everything was good in and around our house. If you are looking for an amazing, trustworthy, and kind pet sitter who truly cares about your animals and will take the absolute best care of them and your house, Amanda and her husband Zach are the best people for the job! “I was a little nervous about leaving Ingrid since she’s so “needy” and has never been with anyone besides the groomer and that’s only for a couple of hours. But as soon as I met Leah I was instantly at ease. I could tell she loves the fur babies she takes care of. And as I suspected, she and her husband did a lot of holding Ingrid. I wasn’t concerned about Max - he loves everybody and gets along fine with other dogs. I was impressed with Leah’s documentation of the pees/poops/water breaks and food and taking pictures. That takes a lot of “watching”. We live in Texas and were in Castlerock for our son’s wedding. I’m sure we will be visiting again, and if we need a dog sitter, Leah will be the first one we call. I am a full time nurse and do not need this job but I have two dogs that were very difficult and stubborn to train and I would have loved to have someone like me to be there if I went out of town or on vacation because I only ever trusted myself with them. I never went on vacation in their younger years because I was so scared someone would be mean to them or not care for them like I would if I boarded them. So I have decided to do this part time because every pet should be treated with love and care because they ARE our family ❤️🐾. I regularly help my grandmother with her dog while she travels. I am comfortable going to your house or having you pet come into mine. We live in a house with nice sized fenced in backyard. The main level and upstairs is dog friendly and the basement is already blocked off so there wouldn’t be any problems. Behind our house I have access to an open field as well as access to the reservoir. I currently have a golden doodle so my day is already dog filled routine. I have a large back yard for dogs to play my dog loves it back there. As previously mentioned my dog is dog and cat friendly. I have plenty of space inside for cats to roam and space for dog crates.

About: IMPORTANT NOTE: I am a teacher, so I work from 7am to 4pm. I’ve been dog sitting for many years, caring for dogs of all sizes, ages, and personality types. Whether it's a dog walk, a drop-in visit, or an overnight stay, my main goals are simple: keep your pet happy, give them plenty of love, and make sure they get great exercise! As a school teacher, I have a very predictable routine that works wonderfully for pet care! My schedule makes it super easy to take on dog walks and drop-in visits before school (5:00 AM – 6:30 AM) and after school (4:00 PM or later). My availability opens up significantly during school breaks and throughout the summer! I always ask owners for detailed notes on food restrictions, meds, routines, and house rules so I can provide the exact care your pet is used to. I also build my schedule entirely around your pet’s needs—if they’ve been home alone during the day, I make sure to spend my evenings right there with them. (Bonus: I’m always happy to bring in the mail or care for your houseplants while you're away!) I look forward to giving your dog the best experience possible! Important Safety Note: I have a severe nut allergy! I am more than happy to give your pup any nut-free treats, snacks, or medicine pockets you provide. Please just let me know in advance if your dog uses peanut butter or nut-based treats so we can use a safe alternative while I’m caring for them. Since I am a school teacher, my schedule is pretty consistent for morning, afternoon and evening care. In the morning (5:00-6:30 am) I love to get the day started by moving my body, dropping in to get the dogs fed, and making sure they're set up for success before my day begins. In the afternoon and evenings (4:00 pm onwards) I like to destress the day by making sure pets are getting exercise and time outside. I dedicate my time to extra activities, such as pet care. I aim to ensure that your pets receive focused attention, exercise, and companionship while their parents are away. On weekends and school breaks, I am more flexible to do longer walks, drop-ins, and housesitting/dog sitting appointments. I am also more available to do midday appointments. I prefer to stay at the client's home for ease of care and pet emotions. While in the home, I abide by the client's rules/desires listed before leaving. I also make sure to stick to their normal schedule as closely as possible. While staying at the house, I will happily take care of trash/recycling, mail, and house plants. Unless permission was granted beforehand, I don't let anyone into your home and enjoy the alone time with dogs.

At Pepper's, I administer medications to 20+ dogs every week, pills, eye drops, insulin shots, you name it. I'm no stranger to meds. The pups there receive around the clock care, meals, and love, and I work alongside a vet team daily with training in emergencies, first aid, CPR, and behavioral challenges. At home, my own medically compromised pup, Stubby Chubby, keeps me on my toes too so the care doesn't stop when I clock out. What I do is hard work, but I love every minute of it and wouldn't ask to be doing anything else.
