Safety, trust & environment
I am respectful of your space while treating your pet like my own. I know the stress of leaving a four legged family member in the care of another and will do my best to ease that for you and give them the best possible time with me. I love to take pictures, especially ones that I hope make you laugh.
Information Shari K. would like to know about your pet
People love to talk about their pets and I love to listen! I want to know the silly stuff too! Of course I need to know any medications and/or allergies, but I want to know their favorite toy too! I'm very comfortable giving oral meds and have experience giving a diabetic dog insulin. I have an epileptic dog that gets meds 4 times a day, so I'm familiar with a strict med schedule and seizures.
A typical day
I love to go on walks and try to find new paths to explore. I like to do sniff walks, where your dog can take their time and get mental stimulation in addition to exercise and a chance to potty. I try to find ways to make pets use their brains a little extra, like treat dispensing toys (can be filled with kibble!) and practicing some tricks (coming to their name, sit, lay down). I'm very content to sit and just spend time with older pets or let more reserved pets get used to me.

Pet care experience
Hey there! I'm Dene (middle name), I'm a mother to three children and wife to a disabled veteran. I am currently looking for a regular job and caring for pets with my ample free time! Before becoming a stay-at-home mom, I was a pet groomer and owned my own pet grooming business in California. I have volunteered with dog and cat rescues since I was 14 years old, mostly walking and playing in the exercise yard. I was also frequently tasked with feeding and watering the animals, including providing oral medications to cats and dogs. I have two dogs of my own, a 45lb, 10 year old, scruffy mutt by the name of Charlie who has epilepsy and hypothyroidism and a 5 year old chocolate lab named Sam who is allergic to life (enviornmental and food allergies) and still the best hiking buddy. I love to be outdoors exploring and curl up inside with a furry snuggle buddy. I am well-trained in the arts of repetitive toy throwing and walking in large circles endlessly. I do have base access so I am willing to help out military families!

Reviews

Shari did an amazing job dropping in on our cats while we were away on vacation! One needed to be given eye drops and another needed oral medication, and she administered both with no problems. Kept us updated at all times with photos. We felt at ease leaving them in her hands.

Shari was super helpful and patient with my dogs and I will be using her again!

Shari is great! She communicated really well, she took good care of my babies, took great pictures, and followed all instructions. The dogs were happy, will use again!

Always wonderful! My pups come back so fulfilled and happy. She is really good with personalizing their experience and recognizing their needs/wants.
