“I have a reactive dog and Angela was very understanding of the situation. I did my best to provide directions, so that and her experience with reactive dogs made it so taking out my dog was a breeze. Definitely will be booking Angela in the future!”

“Andres has been absolutely amazing! He has been amazing to work with. My pittie mix absolutely loves going for his walks with Andres. He is always on time and very professional. Would highly recommend.”

“Mariam has been a great dog walker for our senior dog Hannah- she is attentive, observant, caring and a great communicator. She goes above and beyond by giving our cats some attention as well and picks up on small details with our dog who is on medication which brings us such peace of mind.”

“Ryann was great with our puppy who has tons of energy and can be a handful at times! She sent plenty of updates and was very respectful and responsive in communications. Definitely will book again!”

“Kim did a fantastic job handling and walking my very active yellow Labrador. She was very friendly, communicative, prompt and she followed some of the direction we had left her. Really appreciated her last minute help in caring for our dog! Highly recommend”

“Katie is amazing! I have used her both to board my dog, Leo, and to take him on walks! She’s so kind, flexible, and great at communicating. She sent lots of updates and cute pictures while I was away, which made me feel totally at ease. Leo came home super happy and clearly loves her! I’ll definitely keep booking with her in the future — can’t recommend her enough!”

About: I have taken care of friends and clients dogs. The longest I watched a dog was 2 weeks. She is an Australian Shepherd and Boxer mix (high energy and very smart). Others breads I have taken care of are Doberman, Labradoodle, French Bulldog, Pit Bull, and Bulldog. Long walks and playtime are no biggie! Just a note, my household is just me and my boyfriend. I wake up at 6:30-7am, go on a walk, breakfast, play time, snack, nap (if needed, walk or play, relax, and dinner. I adjust to the needs of the dog, especially with physical activity. I am comfortable with high energy and low energy dogs. They will get a lot of love and encouragement the whole time. I live in a condo in a 12 story building. It is a dog friendly building with fenced in a play area. It is small but an easier way for any dog that needs to be let out. There are a couple of dog parks to walk to but can avoid and just walk if that is more comfortable for them.
“Teddy finished his first week with Sonya & Bobby. He let his hair down as usual and was his goofy, snotty self. Hats off to you guys for giving Teddy a chance. He needs the walks & attention. You are so professional & pleasant. You must love dogs because Teddy is hard to reach. But he's happy.”

“We are very grateful we found Mike! He is great with our two large dogs and has worked hard on keeping us updated on their walks, and working with them on listening better while walking. He is very responsive and respectful of our home, and we look forward to working with him again.”

“Colin was great with Milton! He took him on a nice long walk that Milton loved. Colin was super responsive and thorough in his walk report. I will be contacting him again!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs ever since I was a young kid. When I was in college, I cared and trained a puppy to its adult years all by myself! He is now 6. I am a professional in Tech that is fully WFH! I am looking to work around my flexible schedule to spend time with your pet. I will always treat your home with respect and leave it the way it was before I got there. I have walked many kinds of dogs as well.
“Leila is fabulous! We need a last second walk for our pups. She came to our house to get the pups. Our friend that was there earlier in the day left the leashes in the wrong place and Leila was patient enough to search for them. It delayed her walk quite a bit but she didn’t shorten their walk. She took great care of our pups and gave them treats. Her report was thorough and detailed, which helped alleviate any worry I had for our pups. Thanks Leila!”

“Victoria was able to be there for my puppy when I needed her in a pinch! I’m so grateful for her! She was great with him during a busy season of my life! Thank you Victoria!!”

“It was a pleasure working with Chauntrell to walk my boy! I received great progress pics and solid communication during the process. I appreciate knowing my son was well taken care of while I couldn’t be home. Thank you, Chauntrell!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Chicago
At the risk of losing her to another client, I will say that Jenna did an amazing job with my anxious and reactive pit! I was dreading leaving her alone for a few days but Jolene took to Jenna's vibe right off the bat and it worked out beautifully. Jenna went above and beyond and was able to accommodate us when we found ourselves stranded in another state for a couple more days. We will definitely be coming back for more walks and pet sitting.

Fatimah was an absolutely wonderful walker for our Bobby. It was apparent from our meet and greet that she loves and has great experience with dogs and truly gives care to the animals she works with. She’s prompt, communicative and great with our quirky little guy. Will absolutely use her again!

We absolutely loved having Eunice as Milo's dog walker! She is truly the best. Milo adored her! He would sit by the door and stare, waiting for her to arrive, which says everything about how much he loved their time together. We were working hard on his reactivity, and I really appreciated that she consistently followed the training techniques and commands we had been using. Having that continuity made such a difference in his progress. She was always incredibly flexible, thoughtful, and reliable, and her detailed reports after every walk were something I genuinely looked forward to reading. I couldn't recommend her more highly!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
