“Andres has been absolutely amazing! He has been amazing to work with. My pittie mix absolutely loves going for his walks with Andres. He is always on time and very professional. Would highly recommend.”

“Lillian has been great with my dogs and very communicative throughout the walks. She took the time to make sure they were comfortable, shared updates and photos, and went above and beyond with their care. I really appreciated her flexibility and willingness to work with my schedule, especially while I was out of town. I felt confident knowing my dogs were in good hands, and I would absolutely recommend her to other pet parents.”

“I have a reactive dog and Angela was very understanding of the situation. I did my best to provide directions, so that and her experience with reactive dogs made it so taking out my dog was a breeze. Definitely will be booking Angela in the future!”

“I’m so grateful I found Jenna. She’s been a blessing for me and my dog. Zara is always excited to see her, and I can tell that Jenna treats my baby with so much patience and love. Jenna’s reliability and kindness mean the world to us.”

“I couldn’t be more grateful for the incredible care Chauntrell gave my pup while I was away! From the moment we connected, he was communicative, kind, and clearly passionate about animals. He sent daily updates, photos, and even little notes about how my dog was doing, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was gone. Chauntrell was so patient and gentle with him it didn’t take long before he was completely comfortable and excited for their walks. He treated my pup like he was their own, and that means the world to me. I highly recommend Chauntrell to anyone looking for someone dependable, loving, and professional. I will absolutely be booking with him again in the future! Thank you again for everything my friend! 🐾❤️”

“Breanna saved the day during my week suffering from a concussion. After an initial meet and greet Winnie took to her well and Breanna even got her to walk all the way to the lake without much issue Winnie came back happy and ready to nap. THANK YOU! 10/10 Recommend”

About: I grew up with two dogs who are now over the rainbow bridge. . Two Yorkshire Terriers named Buddy and Beary! Many of my friends have dogs, and I grew up around dogs of all sizes and breeds. Additionally, I had a senior medically challenging cat for about 8 years. He recently passed on January 3rd, 2023. He was the love of my life and I did all the things needed to care from him. I have experience administering medication both orally and through shots, giving fluids subcutaneously, and giving animals hygiene care. I am adaptable and willing to work with any animal. I am able to bathe, walk, feed, administer medicine, and play with your pet. I am available mostly on weekends and in the evenings during the week after 5pm. I am a high school science teacher who loves to explore the world with curiosity and loves all things, especially animals and science. I am hoping to get some extra income for the holidays and summer! Rates are flexible, just trying to get started with Rover! I am a high school science teacher and trying to boost my income as well as play with some animals. After losing my cat, I enjoy the company of all fur babies. I will treat the pet as my own. At my home, my home had to be adapted around my cat. As a senior animal he had step stools , multiple litter boxes that are cleaned daily, and a specific diet and medications that take time to administer. I will happily meet your pets needs as best I can.
“Eunice was so sweet with Willow. She took the time to get to know her and made her feel comfortable which I really appreciated. She also took the time to chat with me about the walk which made us both feel at ease. Will book again!”

“Nataliia has been great! My dog can be a little anxious, but she is patient and built trust right away. It’s such a relief knowing he is in kind, capable hands. We especially appreciate the detailed updates after each walk—it shows genuine care and professionalism.”

About: I grew up with two big dogs who were more than a handful and walked them around my neighborhood when I was younger. When I moved to the city my favorite weekends were when my cousin asked me to dog sit because who doesn't love some puppy love? I am responsible and will treat your dog with the same level of love that I'm sure you treat them yourself. I have experience walking smaller dogs all the way up to big woofers who need a little extra attention. In the past, many of the dogs I've watched haven't been the best with other dogs so I have a lot of experience with taking routes that avoid other dogs and how to manage the situation if we do run into one. I've watched dogs for friends and family members who all have specific instructions for the way their dogs should be handled and I understand the importance of stability in a dog's routine whether at home or when walking! I hope I can meet your lovely furry friends soon!
About: I’ve had my own pets and taken care of others’ pets for decades. I love playing with cats, taking walks with dogs, throwing the ball, and I’m a big-time cuddler. I work from home on my own technology business and I’m available 24 hours a day all over Chicago. I’m also fine with short notice. We have a fantastic gated park across the street that we love taking puppies to. Inside our house there are a dozen different places for dogs and cats to rest. Drop-off and pick-up are easy here, too, as we have a door right onto the street.

About: I’ve been obsessed with dogs my whole life! 🐶 I grew up with my Westie, Rina, and now I’m the proud dog mom of Hiro, who I adopted as a puppy in 2020. I handled all of his potty training, crate training, leash training, and socialization, so I know firsthand that every pup has their own personality and needs. Friends and family have always trusted me to care for their dogs, and I truly treat every pup like they’re my own. Whether your dog loves long walks, playing fetch, or just curling up for cuddles, I’m happy to match their vibe. 😊 Hiro is a sweet, well-socialized little guy who loves making new friends, and I can’t wait to welcome yours into our home. I’ll make sure your pup gets lots of love, attention, exercise, and of course, plenty of photo updates while you’re away! 🐾 I currently work part time and have very flexible availability! My schedule changes every month so my availability is updated regularly. I always make sure to take at least 3 walks per day and get some time and space in to run around to get his energy out! I live nearby several parks that I take hiro to regularly! I also have him crate trained so I can do the same for you and your furbaby as needed :)
“Jacob was my first dog walker for Bear. He arrived later than booked but communicated his arrival. Jacob was able to answer my questions and we spoke about Bear and his behavior. Jacob returned with a happy pup after an hour. I like the report card that shows the walk they went on. I would recommend.”

“Anastasiia is so sweet with my little Wags and sends very detailed information on their walks, I would recommend her to anyone! So glad to have someone I trust walk my little guy twice a week!”

About: Hello! I am a lover of all animals, I've had cats, birds, dogs, guinea pigs, you name it! I have also co bred a beautiful litter of Golden Retriever puppies this past May. I have grown up with dogs my entire life and am experienced and knowledgeable with all breeds big and small. I am aslo a self taught obedience trainer and have trained my own dog to be off leash. Without the silliness, companionship, and loyalty from dogs, i don't think humans would have been able to thrive as well as they do today. It is important to establish a responsible and thorough caregiver for your pets and I am willing and ready to help! I would love to help take care of your fur baby! I work from home 8 am to 4 pm with weekend availability! Happy to have your pets stay with me or whatever your preference is! I provide 24 hour care as I work from home. I’m an active personality; potty and exercise breaks occur every 3 hours or more frequently if you’d like.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Chicago
I’ve hired quite a few dog walkers on Rover and although most have been pretty good, Sandie is exceptional! She truly goes above and beyond with her care, communication, and updates/pictures. It’s always hard to leave my dog in the hands of strangers but Sandie has made it easy. You can tell she truly LOVES dogs and is not just doing this for extra income. I would hands down recommend her to anyone!!

Marquette is a wonderful dog walker! She goes above and beyond taking care of my two pups. She provides detailed reports and always makes sure to fill their water bowls and is mindful of the temperature when it’s too hot/cold. I am moving away from the city and will surely miss having someone as caring and reliable as she!

Eunice was absolutely the best. Not only did she agree to take on several days of walks with Goonie at the very last minute, but she was also incredibly punctual and responsive throughout. I have a senior dog who is very sweet but requires extra care, and Eunice handled this beautifully. She showed Goonie nothing but patience, love, and attention, and I truly appreciated her kindness and hard work. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone in need of a reliable and compassionate dog walker.

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Chicago. On Rover:
- 90% of walkers can help with special care needs

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
