“Ashley did a fantastic job taking care of my pets while I was on vacation. She kept everything clean and well-maintained, which gave me complete peace of mind. Not only did she ensure my cats were well cared for, but she also noticed that one of them wasn’t eating and took the extra step to help me troubleshoot my automatic feeders. Her attention to detail and genuine care for my pets truly stood out. I highly recommend Ashley to anyone looking for a reliable and attentive pet sitter!”

“Nadine was great! She was patient with my sassy cat and very communicative with me while I was on vacation. Would definitely use Nadine in the future.”

“Andres was SUPER easy to work with and great with our very senior cat Elmer. When my husband and I are away, we kind of need someone who’ll allow us to not think about what’s going on at home and Andres did just that- made it easy to be away from our lil guy. Thank you!”

“Jason is great! He’s very responsive and my poodle pup loves him. I highly recommend him and will be using him whenever I need someone to drop by and help out when I’m busy.”

“Jozelin did great with my cat, Bella! I got pictures daily, as well as updates about her behavior and any issues. When I got home from my week long trip, Bella was doing great and had clearly been well taken care of! I would book Jozelin again - especially because she tool the time to get to know Bella and gain her trust!”

About: Hi. I have over 20 years of experience work with animals, especially dogs. I love animals of all shapes and sizes. I have experienced with ages from 8 weeks to over 20 years. I can help with sitting, boarding, walking, cuddling, playing, the list can go on an on. For boarding I currently have no pets of my own at home as in the last year my 2 loved dogs passed at the ages of 19 and 20. I’m currently working from home so I can go out for potty breaks every couple hours and walks every 4 hours. Feeding will depend on your dogs needs and routine. I care for other just as I care for my own pets, with love, caution and safety. My home and yard are safe and secure.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Chicago
Anna was absolutely amazing with our 2 kitties! She was very thorough in making sure they had everything they needed. It was also thoughtful of her to spend time playing with them and giving them treats. She was also very communicative the whole way through. We will definitely use Anna again in the future!🤗

David took once again tremendous care of our 2 cats. He went above and beyond taking numerous pictures while we were out of the country and took additional measures to make sure they were safe when the Canadian wildfire smoke hit Chicago, putting a damp rag under our doorway to make sure the cats could breathe easy. David always puts us at ease and we trust wholeheartedly the cats are cared for while we’re gone.

It’s nerve wrecking to leave your pets while on vacation, particularly when finding someone new on Rover. Shan put all those fears to rest. She was compassionate with both my dog and cat, patiently encouraged my dog to eat daily, and sent photos and wonderful updates with each visit. 10/10 would recommend and I’ll be reaching out to Shan for future Rover needs.

Andres was SUPER easy to work with and great with our very senior cat Elmer. When my husband and I are away, we kind of need someone who’ll allow us to not think about what’s going on at home and Andres did just that- made it easy to be away from our lil guy. Thank you!

110% recommend! My normally shy cat warmed up to her so quickly, and Susmitha’s daily report and check-in’s were always detailed and thorough. It’s very obvious how much love, care and attention she provides our furry babies when we’re away! Will definitely have her around more often! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lisa goes above and beyond when she watches our cat. We’ve had the pleasure of working with her several times and from bringing our cat her favorite toys to play with to providing detailed updates, she makes it so easy for us to relax when we’re away, knowing that everything is being taken care of at home. Thank you Lisa!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Chicago. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
