Tara visited and gave my cat so much attention while I went to an all-day conference for 4 days. She played with him, and petted and brushed him. Her photos showed a happy and engaged cat. I appreciate Tara’s great flexibility and understanding of my house, schedule, and cat! Thanks for being kind and encouraging, Tara!

About: I've owned pets my whole life. I currently own two pets: a Coton de Tulear named Kitty and a sweet German Shepherd named Medusa. I volunteer at animal shelters, and work as a veterinarian assistant. I have experience with cats and dogs ranging from newborns to seniors. While I have my own pets, rest assured your baby will have my undivided attention while in my care. I interact with pet on a daily basis. I work as a vet assistant, and have my own pets. I have lots of free time throughout the week that I occassionally dedicate to my neighborhood animal shelters. My most open days are Wed - Fri. Pets will never be left unsupervised in my care. Only pets from one household will be walked at a time. When doing drop in visits I pay close attention to the instructions given by the pet owner, and will ensure the pet is comfortable before departing. I will provide pets access to water at all times, and pay close attention for any signs of discomfort. I always keep a first aid kit handy. I do not offer treats or foods that are approved of by the owner first. If I notice anything concerning I will notify the pet owner. I'll also provide cute update photos for the owners reassurance.

About: For years, I've been a devoted pet parent, welcoming everything from kittens and puppies to their adult counterparts. My journey took a deep turn when I became the primary caregiver for my senior dog, who battled three different medical conditions. Every day, I managed a complex schedule of 5–7 medications. Thanks to this dedication, she defied the odds, living a happy, long life until she was 16. She was my best friend, and the many years we spent navigating her health together remains one of my most cherished experiences. I'm currently not working and available 7am-7pm weekdays and weekends.I do take care of our own pets at home along with my parents. So If you need me longer I can make it work for you. I am currently feeding our one dog and three cats multiple times a day and all are also cared for and loved by my parents and aunt.

About: I love dogs. I have had one Doberman, one mutt who was the best, and two English Mastiffs. I had a dog everyday of my life until five years ago when my 200 pound English Mastiff named Max died. It broke my heart and hasn't felt right to replace him. But I love dogs and cherish watching the relationship people have with their dogs. I say hi to every pooch on the street that I pass. Rest assured, your dog will be treated with the utmost friendliness and care imaginable. I work from home so your dog will always have a friendly companion around. A side note. No Pit Bulls, No Rottweilers, No Stafford Terriers, No Husky of any sort, and No Doodles of any sort. I'm sure if any of these five dogs are part of your family that you are a wonderful person and so is your dog. However, they are far from my cup of tea. I work from home. I'm home basically all the time. And other than that, I just work on landscaping my front and back yards. I have a fenced in yard. Your pet is in great hands. I work from home. Mara is simply the best—highly recommended! My husband and I have never trusted anyone outside of family to care for our two senior dogs. One requires medication, and the other is extremely anxious, so finding the right person felt overwhelming. Mara immediately put us at ease. She took the time to meet with me and my dogs before her scheduled visits and was incredibly patient while I learned how to use the app. Not only is she kind and attentive with my pets, but she is also very capable and handled their somewhat complicated care with confidence. She communicated clearly, letting me know when something came up without causing unnecessary worry, and managed every situation thoughtfully—even things I hadn’t anticipated. Mara is responsive, flexible, and truly easy to work with. When I needed to add a service last minute, she responded right away and accommodated my request without hesitation. I can’t say enough good things—she is trustworthy, compassionate, and incredibly reliable. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my dogs.

About: I take care of all animals in my care, mine or not. I never yell and I don't abuse any animal. I treat them as my own and I make sure that their tail wags every time that they see me. I work as a full time dog groomer and now that Rover has that service, I would like to build my own clientele. I work full time so unless I am doing a house sitting or the place is close by that I can do a fly by, I am not available in the morning most days except weekends. Your dog is never out of my sight unless I allow they are secure in a crate. Any thing that brings me concern will be immediately brought up with you and I will find any solution I can to help.

About: Hi friends, my name is Carla, and I LOVE animals. Anyone who knows me, can vouch for that. I’ve grown up having a numerous amount of pets, all different sizes, and kinds! Pretty much anything my parents would let me bring home since I was a toddler. I’ve had dogs and cats of all sizes, snakes, turtles, birds, hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, you name it! This didn’t stop in my adult hood, I currently have 3 dogs, 3 cats, and 2 turtles, whom are all rescues! I have been in the animal field for 6+ years, working in shelters, emergency hospitals, surgical units, and general clinics as a veterinary technician. I am highly experienced with anxious/reactive pets, senior pets, neonatal pets, or even pets with medical needs. I’m also currently a lead tech at a spay/neuter clinic so I am very experienced with surgical recovery! I understand the importance of safety of crates/kennels, and am willing to be compliant with your house rules for your pets! Wether they need to be walked around blocks, or even in your yard for a playtime/potty break, rain or shine I will be there. I also have training experience, so if allowed, I would be happy to help with leash training or command training during my visits! If there is one thing every pet needs, it someone patient and willing, and that’s me! Rain or shine, I’ll be there! I’m fully available to grow and learn your pets schedule and routine in order to maximize their comfort and needs while in my care! I have a huge fenced in yard, and dogs that are pet friendly! I also have kitties who love dogs, and I foster shelter pets frequently, I am very experienced with proper introductions and reading body language!

Delaney was absolutely fantastic! It was our first time using Rover since we moved and we were anxious to use a new cat sitter but Delaney really helped to ease the stress. Her communication was wonderful and her attention to detail was also much appreciated. Our area experienced bad weather while we were away and Delaney was very vigilant about updating us on our cats and sending photos. We also appreciate how tidy she left everything upon our return! We are very relieved to have found a very trustworthy and caring sitter!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hometown. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
