“Lana did a great job taking care of my guinea pigs! Her experience made me comfortable leaving them with her for a week. She gave daily updates and I could tell they were well cared for every day. Really appreciated the service and will book again :)”

About: Hi ! I’ve grown up with animals my whole life (my childhood pets include dogs, cats, and hamsters.) and I’ve never met one I didn’t love. Now, I’m a dog-mom to a sassy golden retriever. I’m the person who stops and gushes over every animal that walks past me. Similar to my golden, I loveee to go on walks and rarely get tired of them. I have experience with older animals that require special care like medication, diapers, etc. Also, I am big on walks and amazing at tiring out high-energy pups. I work remote so I have a very flexible schedule and I’m available most times of the day or week! I usually can tweak my schedule/plans pretty short notice as well :) I’ve done both crating and free roam for my pets at home, so I am well versed on the needs for both. My dog is known for getting into trouble when I leave, so I make sure to scan the room for any chewable or hazards before leaving the pet out and alone.
“Coretta was an amazing caretaker. She was consistent, on time, gave me thorough updates, and provided great care for my pets. 15 out of 10 would recommend!”

About: Hi there! I’m a lifelong animal lover who has been caring for pets since I was 8 years old. I currently have a fur child of my own (A cat named Moo moo) and regularly pet sit for family members and neighbors in my apartment building. I understand how important it is to know your pets are safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. Whether it’s dog walks, playtime, feedings, cuddles, or keeping routines consistent, I treat every pet with patience, attentiveness, and lots of love. I’m currently offering part-time care with my availability being afternoons, evenings, and weekends. I can offer after-work walks, evening check ins, weekend care, and drop in visits for out of town trips. I’m happy to provide dependable walks, check ins, feedings, playtime, and companionship during my available hours. I understand that every pet has their own personality, comfort level, and routine, so I always try to approach each animal with patience, attentiveness, and care. Especially as a pet is getting to know me, I focus on creating a safe, calm environment where they can build trust and feel comfortable at their own pace. I also believe communication with pet owners is incredibly important. I take time to understand their pet’s routine, preferences, and personality so I can provide the best possible care. Beyond basic care, I want pets to feel genuinely loved, safe, and supported while their owner is away.
“Vitalia was great with Hazel! I appreciated her calm demeanor that I'm sure calmed down my high-energy puppy. Looking forward to booking with her again!”

“Siddhi came to check in on my dog Kinzie who is very anxious at baseline. Kinzie is very standoffish to new people but Siddhi has been patient and took the time to gain her trust! She has been great so far with Kinzie and I will definitely be having her check in on her again.”

“Thanks Ryan! We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Ryan! From the very beginning, they were professional, communicative, and clearly passionate about animals. They took the time to understand our cat’s routine, quirks, and preferences, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Each visit came with thoughtful updates, photos, and little notes that made us feel connected and reassured. It was clear our cat was not only well cared for, but genuinely enjoyed their company. We came home to a happy, relaxed pet and everything exactly as we left it. It’s such a relief to find someone trustworthy, attentive, and kind. We wouldn’t hesitate to book again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for exceptional care for their pets!”

“Dodd is the best! He’s such an awesome and sincere person, and my husband and I felt beyond comfortable with him checking in on our cat. This is also the first time we’ve returned from a trip and our cat was totally relaxed. We can’t recommend him enough and will definitely use his services in the future!”
“Allison was wonderful with my two cats as a pet sitter. One of my cats had some accidents and she cleaned it all up without any hesitation. She followed all directions perfectly and I will 100% rebook her!!!”

“Samantha was great with our cats and dogs, especially she took an extra time with our shy dog. She was professional and dependable. We will definitely use her services again.”
About: Up until recently I had a large reactive dog. She was my best friend and taught me not only patience, but also taught me so much about dogs. I wfh and am looking to add a little something to my schedule. I would love to give your dog the exercise it needs while you’re at work. I am willing to work with reactive dogs in case by case basis. I am also a dog walking volunteer at CACC. I wfh and have flexibility in my schedule. I am available afternoons and evenings m-f and can work something out on weekends if it was needed. I would take care of your animals at your home based on instructions you give me for you pet. I respect you as an owner and your pet and do not want to give overstep and boundaries
“Rebecca was wonderful! My cat fell in love with her within seconds of meeting her & I could tell she took great care of her while we were gone :) 100% would recommend to anyone!”

“It was my first time using rover and I was looking for someone who truly understands dogs, and its Tamara! Tamara was a true blessing while I was away in Mexico. My dog isn’t usually quick to trust—he even tried to bite her when they first met—but she was so patient and kind with him. By the end of the week, he was waiting at the door for her, tail wagging, 30 minutes early. I could tell he really bonded with her. I’m so grateful and would absolutely have her watch him again.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Chicago
Megan was absolutely wonderful with LeeLu and Obi. She was so great with them during the Meet & Greet (Obi especially LOVED her). She shows she is committed as she came out to the meet and greet during a really bad thunderstorm! Despite the really hot and humid temps, she took my dogs out twice even though it was only a 30 minute drop in. I really appreciate and value her services. She is definitely top notch and I would hire her again!

Abigail took wonderful care of my Bernese Mountain Dog. She was attentive, followed all of his detailed care instructions, and made sure all of his needs were met. She was reliable, thoughtful, and clearly cared about him. I’d happily book her again and highly recommend her!

Anna was absolutely wonderful with Lulu! She was incredibly communicative, reliable, and so sweet throughout the entire experience. I always felt confident knowing Lulu was in great hands, and I really appreciated the updates and care she provided. As a dog parent, it can be hard to trust someone with your baby, but Anna made the process completely stress-free. I would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for an amazing dog walker or sitter to care for their pup during the day. Lulu and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Ella was a great dog walker!! I highly recommend her she was great at coming at whatever time I needed her too. Rover absolutely loved her!! She was there on time and when I had to stay an extra day she was able to go take care of Rover! If you need some to walk, feed, let your dog out, play with your puppy she’s a great one to book you won’t regret it!!
Bella was absolutely incredible!! We hesitate to leave our doggies alone for more than 3 hours as they are anxious and one of them is a senior with a brain tumor. We decided to give it a go to celebrate my partner’s birthday and were nervously texting Bella the whole time. Our Caroline ended up having a very rough time and Bella went above and beyond to care for her. She gave us regular updates, calmed & comforted Caroline, and stayed until both doggies had settled down and were ready for bed. She kept us all sane that night and I don’t think we could’ve done it without Bella!

Nikki's service was exceptional when taking care of my beagle. She communicates very clearly, is punctual, and provides great photos of my pup on the walk. Nikki assisted me for 3 days coming by twice a day to feed my pup and take him for a walk. I definitely recommend her services and I will be requesting her again when the need arises. 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hallie was friendly and fantastic as a drop in sitter! She went above and beyond and took "Lady" on long walks, even though we said walks were optional and ensuring that pee pads were washed and dried! "Lady" was not anxious when we returned home after a few days and that certainly speaks to her feeling well loved in our absence. Lots of photos from each visit were greatly appreciated. We will certainly be contacting Hallie again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
