About: Hi! I absolutely adore all kinds of animals and I can’t wait to work with you! I have been pet sitting since I was 10 years old and have experience with disabled animals, housesitting, drop in visits, absolutely anything- you name it! I have 3 dogs and 4 cats, and I’m a passionate worker who is saving to afford my college education :)) I’m working part time, and as a student my schedule varies a lot. But, work is my priority so, I’m willing to adjust my schedule to fit your needs! I am the biggest pet nerd out there! I love teaching new tricks, singing songs, and connecting personally with animals! I customize my care to what you and your pet need.
“Chelsea was a fantastic rover for our dog! She was extremely responsive, punctual, and helped us several times on short notice! She also clearly cared for our dog and was super kind. Would recommend her to anyone!”

“Ericka helped us while we were on vacation by checking on our cat, making sure she had fresh food/water and a clean litter box. She sent us pictures of our kitty and gave us updates at every check-in. Would definitely recommend her!”

About: Hello i'm Janelle C.(she/her)! A dog walker and pet sitter with 5 years of professional experience at Fur Real K9's as well as with my own clients here in Chicago. I also have a life time of experience loving and caring for animals, including my own two adorable black cats Elizabeth and Momo. In my childhood I took care of all the cats, dogs and horses on our family farm back in Missouri. In my 5 years as a pet sitter i've taken care of everything from geckos to guinea pigs. In that time I took classes in pet CPR and behavior management, particularly for large dogs. I know I can give your pet the love, care and attention they deserve. I hope you trust me to be your next pet sitter! I'm free on weekends (Friday night, Saturday and Sunday) for pet sitting and walking as well as over nights. I have time on Wednesdays for walks and home visits. I consider myself to be an attentive, patient and caring pet parent and I look after my clients pet's just as I would my own. I've worked with all sorts of animals, I've broken up ugly dog fights, changed diapers and sat with pups through seizures
“The visit photos showed that my shy cats were happy to play with Kai. And even though it was a last-minute holiday booking, Kai worked around my schedule to promptly get and return my keys. I would definitely welcome her into my home to care for my cats again.”

“Yesenia is amazing. This is our first time leaving our cat after we got her from the streets, so we're a bit reluctant, but Yesenia gave us updates every single time. We'll definitely ask Yesenia again next time”

“Janiyah was outstanding and I’d definitely book her again! Her communication was great and she was punctual on every drop in. She took great care of my babies and was very attentive to detail. I was comfortable while I was away knowing that my boys were in great hands. I loved all the pictures and videos too! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her!”

“Vitaliy is the most thoughtful pet caregiver we’ve ever worked with. He was able to come care for our kitties on short notice and we are very grateful. He was very thorough with their care, even with things we forgot to mention, and is excellent at communicating. Next time we need someone to take care of our cats, we hope he will be available because we had nothing but peace of mind knowing our kitties were being taken care of by Vitaliy.”

“Rachel was super quick, responsive, kind, and there’s about 50+ other good things I could say about her! I was super busy this weekend for a wedding and she was very on top of everything and having her gave me one less thing to worry about. Thank you so much!”

“Second time using David -he’s great! Very timely and leaves the place so clean. Really appreciate how well he looks after August and takes care of his spaces and my home. Booked him for another trip already!”

“This was Namira's second time watching my elderly dog, who added two pills since our last visit, and has been starting to struggle with joints. She was engaged and made sure to check in with me when he was potentially having a bad day so I could evaluate and I could feel confident he was in good hands once again.”

About: I've owned pets (both cats and dogs) since I was very young, including pets that required special care and medicine. We've owned multiple senior pets, having cared for them from puppy/kitten age through their senior years. Other than pets we have adopted at an older age, I have helped care for our pets throughout their entire life, starting from a couple of months of age. I would be able to help with pets that require medication or special care routines, as well as adjust to their activity levels. I also have experience as an assistant at a veterinary office, so I am comfortable working with animals in general, including larger breeds of dogs. I also have experience with pet sitting/house sitting for my friends and family on multiple occasions! I'm currently a graduate student at UIC, working on research in the areas of Chemical Biology and Synthetic Chemistry. During the week, I am usually on campus during the day in classes, meetings, lab, etc., but I am available to provide excellent service any day of the week. I would be able to perform morning, evening, and overnight services. I provide care in a manner that best suits your pet's needs. I prioritize safety, trust, and comfort for your pets and strive to meet their needs to the best of my ability. If you would like any specific requests, just let me know, and I can adjust accordingly to make sure I meet and exceed your pet's care needs!
About: I've always had a sweet spot for pets. I took care of and trained my childhood dog for 6 years, and now I'm doing the same for my current dog. I've taken care of my friends' dogs when they are away. In addition, I have been training my own dog with a professional trainer, which allowed me to better understand and manage dogs during walks and plays in the park. I'm a graduate student that always takes time to walk my dog. During weekends, I mostly work from home or have more time to walk around the neighborhood and go to the parks. I have harnesses if your dog needs them for a more comfortable walk. My dog is really friendly and adapts to the energy level of other dogs, to make them feel comfortable and also helps them to socialize.

“Very caring sitter!! She helped me find my cat that somehow got under the floorboards and behind a wall. I was on the other side of the world so i really appreciated her help in finding him. Would definitely recommend.”

“Margaret did a wonderful job! She is professional and has a calming presence that made our puppy feel very comfortable while we were away. We came home to a calm and relaxed puppy. It was clear Margaret took great care of her!”

“Nichole was an amazing sitter for my three animals! She was so kind, outgoing and listened during our first meet with the animals. Our cat Michi, especially loved her company and became friends with time. She had long visits with my one pug and made sure she got all the attentions she needed. She also updated us with every visit! Definitely would recommend her to care for your animals as well.”

About: I have grown up having dogs my whole life and love being around them! I've pet sat for friends and family countless times and always have a great time taking care of them. Working from home, I'm able to provide your pup with lots of care and attention. I go on tons of walks daily and am able to take your dog out every 2-4 hours. I live alone and have no pets so your pet will be getting my undivided attention! I have ample room for them to roam around and make sure that they are comfortable as can be :)

About: I have had my own pets ever since I have been an adult. I love the outdoors and walking my dogs and spoiling them. My pets have free roam of my condo and yours will as well. I recently retired and have all the free time to care for your loved ones. Either in my home or yours. I love the outdoors so they will get plenty of play time. I live in a loft with plenty of space and I love to take dogs out for walks. Your pet will be well taken care of.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Chicago
It’s nerve wrecking to leave your pets while on vacation, particularly when finding someone new on Rover. Shan put all those fears to rest. She was compassionate with both my dog and cat, patiently encouraged my dog to eat daily, and sent photos and wonderful updates with each visit. 10/10 would recommend and I’ll be reaching out to Shan for future Rover needs.

Lisa provided amazing service! We have reactive dogs and they did fantastic! This was the first time someone other than family took care of them. The fact they did great and really took to Lisa is a wonderful gift to us. Can’t thank her enough. Highly recommend!

Abigail took wonderful care of my Bernese Mountain Dog. She was attentive, followed all of his detailed care instructions, and made sure all of his needs were met. She was reliable, thoughtful, and clearly cared about him. I’d happily book her again and highly recommend her!

Anna was absolutely wonderful with Lulu! She was incredibly communicative, reliable, and so sweet throughout the entire experience. I always felt confident knowing Lulu was in great hands, and I really appreciated the updates and care she provided. As a dog parent, it can be hard to trust someone with your baby, but Anna made the process completely stress-free. I would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for an amazing dog walker or sitter to care for their pup during the day. Lulu and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Ella was a great dog walker!! I highly recommend her she was great at coming at whatever time I needed her too. Rover absolutely loved her!! She was there on time and when I had to stay an extra day she was able to go take care of Rover! If you need some to walk, feed, let your dog out, play with your puppy she’s a great one to book you won’t regret it!!
Bella was absolutely incredible!! We hesitate to leave our doggies alone for more than 3 hours as they are anxious and one of them is a senior with a brain tumor. We decided to give it a go to celebrate my partner’s birthday and were nervously texting Bella the whole time. Our Caroline ended up having a very rough time and Bella went above and beyond to care for her. She gave us regular updates, calmed & comforted Caroline, and stayed until both doggies had settled down and were ready for bed. She kept us all sane that night and I don’t think we could’ve done it without Bella!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
To find sitters in Chicago with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.
