“Rachel was phenomenal with our dog. We were apprehensive to leave our dog alone due to his anxiety and nervousness around new people. Rachel was patient, reliable and caring. She went out of her way to work with our pet and built trust with him to allow her to walk him and take care of him, while we were away.”

“Andres was SUPER easy to work with and great with our very senior cat Elmer. When my husband and I are away, we kind of need someone who’ll allow us to not think about what’s going on at home and Andres did just that- made it easy to be away from our lil guy. Thank you!”

“This was Namira's second time watching my elderly dog, who added two pills since our last visit, and has been starting to struggle with joints. She was engaged and made sure to check in with me when he was potentially having a bad day so I could evaluate and I could feel confident he was in good hands once again.”

About: Hi! I’m Emily — a dependable and caring animal lover based in Chicago. I’ve had medium to large dogs my whole life, so I’m very comfortable handling different energy levels, personalities, and needs. I also volunteer at PAWS Chicago, where I spend time caring for and working with dogs of different temperaments. This has given me experience reading dog behavior and helping them feel safe and comfortable in new environments. I currently don’t have a dog of my own at home, which allows me to give my full attention to the pets I’m caring for and be flexible with scheduling. My family dog Bella likes to come for a visit here and there for a few days in a row. She will not be with on our walks or home visits. I offer dog walking, drop-in visits, and house sitting, and I’m happy to adjust to your dog’s routine, energy level, and personality. Whether your dog needs a long walk, playtime, or just some company, I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I’m very responsive, detail-oriented, and will keep you updated with photos and messages so you always know how your pet is doing. I treat every pet like they’re my own and aim to make the experience stress-free for both you and your dog. Feel free to reach out with any questions — I’d love to meet you and your pup! I work in education so during the school year Monday-Friday I am free after about 4pm. I open on the weekends. During June-August I have a free schedule I provide a safe, calm, and attentive environment whether I’m in your home or out on walks. I always follow each pet’s routine closely, including feeding, walking, and any specific instructions you provide. I’m experienced with medium to large dogs and comfortable handling different energy levels and personalities. I prioritize safety on walks by using secure leashing and staying aware of surroundings, and I always make sure pets feel comfortable and cared for. I’m also very communicative and will send regular updates and photos so you feel confident while you’re away.

Diana was amazing! She was super communicative, followed all of my care instructions, and showed my cat Figgy so much love. I get anxious whenever I travel and have to leave Figgy alone, and Diana made me feel so much better with how much care and attention she paid to Figgy. She sent plenty of videos as well to help me feel assured. Would highly recommend!

Absolutely wonderful experience! They were kind, reliable, communicative, and took such great care of my pet. I felt completely comfortable knowing she was in good hands, and I really appreciated the updates and attention they gave her. You can tell they genuinely care about animals. I would absolutely book with them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter! ❤️

Yingyu was amazing! She even came by in person beforehand to introduce herself and meet the dogs before the drop-in visits, which I really appreciated. She followed all of my instructions, sent lots of pictures and updates, and made sure to spend time playing with my puppies. They seemed to absolutely love her! I’m so grateful she was able to help on such short notice, and I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for someone caring and reliable to watch their pets.

Tim helped me with the care of my two dogs while I was out of town and my husband had some long work days. The dogs absolutely loved him and he updated me every visit with pictures and told me how they were doing. I will definitely be asking Tim to watch my boys in the future!

Paola was absolutely wonderful! She agreed to take care of my cat, Tinker, last minute for the weekend, and I’m so grateful she was able to help. Tinker was clearly very well cared for, which gave me such peace of mind while I was away. Paola also sent me the most beautiful pictures of her seriously, photos I couldn’t have taken that well myself! 🥹🐾 It was so nice getting those updates and seeing Tinker happy and comfortable. I would absolutely trust Paola with her again and will definitely be using her in the future. Highly recommend! ❤️

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
