“Nadine was great! She was patient with my sassy cat and very communicative with me while I was on vacation. Would definitely use Nadine in the future.”

About: I have been a proud dog mom for the past 9 years, so caring for dogs has always been a big part of my life! I live a very active lifestyle and truly believe our pets deserve to enjoy that same energy, whether that means a long walk, playtime, or simply getting some extra love and attention throughout the day. Over the years, I’ve cared for all kinds of dogs and have regularly dog-sat for friends and neighbors. I recently moved to Chicago and am excited to bring my love for dogs to Rover! I’m especially comfortable with big dogs and high-energy pups who need a little extra exercise, structure, and attention. My goal is to make every pup feel happy, safe, loved, and right at home while they’re in my care. 🐾 I manage & teach at a Pilates studio so my schedule is pretty flexible! I am also a very early riser 🌞 I also have a car, so transportation will never be an issue. Communication is the most important part of caring for your pet! I’ll make sure we’re aligned on your dog’s routine, needs, and preferences, and I’ll keep you updated throughout their time with me. Your pup’s safety, comfort, and happiness always come first.
“Magdalena was incredible! She kept me informed about how my cat Freeway was doing, was always responsive, and sent a lot of pictures (which made my day). Both Freeway and I were lucky to have her care — would 100% rebook.”

About: I've taken care of dogs for my neighbors and family friends throughout middle school and into high school! I have experience walking dogs and taking care of them when their people were on vacation! I am happy to send pictures or videos updates of your pup and will gladly play with them! I am excited to have wide availability to take care of animals! I am open to mornings, evenings, and would be more than happy to stay overnight! I really enjoy spending time with animals! It's important to me to get to know your pet! I would love for you to share with me how you care for your pets, so that I can care for them as well as you do! I love to cuddle, play, and engage with all dogs and cats!
“Tim helped me with the care of my two dogs while I was out of town and my husband had some long work days. The dogs absolutely loved him and he updated me every visit with pictures and told me how they were doing. I will definitely be asking Tim to watch my boys in the future!”

“Sarah is professional, caring, and communicative and gave regular updates which I really appreciated. My cat was totally relaxed when I got home. Sarah is my new go to cat sitter!”

About: Up until recently I had a large reactive dog. She was my best friend and taught me not only patience, but also taught me so much about dogs. I wfh and am looking to add a little something to my schedule. I would love to give your dog the exercise it needs while you’re at work. I am willing to work with reactive dogs in case by case basis. I am also a dog walking volunteer at CACC. I wfh and have flexibility in my schedule. I am available afternoons and evenings m-f and can work something out on weekends if it was needed. I would take care of your animals at your home based on instructions you give me for you pet. I respect you as an owner and your pet and do not want to give overstep and boundaries
“Mairead is the best cat sitter! Howie and Gus looked forward to their daily visit. Mairead treated them like her own cats and it brought so much comfort while we were out of town. Thanks Mairead!”

“A truly fantastic catsitter who I always book--Yesenia cares about my cats, plays with them, and makes them happy while I am gone. I am never stressed or concerned about them when I book her.”

“Andres was SUPER easy to work with and great with our very senior cat Elmer. When my husband and I are away, we kind of need someone who’ll allow us to not think about what’s going on at home and Andres did just that- made it easy to be away from our lil guy. Thank you!”

“Eunice was so kind and jumped in to watch Goonie very last minute. I appreciated her updates and how she was kind enough to clean up his messes!! Looking forward to working with her again!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Chicago
Mina is everything you're looking for in a Rover! She was on time every day, sent tons of photos/videos and written updates on our pets mood/state of play! Fantastic communication. Our home was exactly as we left it. Biscotti's food and water was full when we got back. We were away for quite some time, and she provided our pet the consistency we were looking for during our trip and made us feel confident our pet was in good hands. This was our first time using Rover and we will 10/10 be requesting Mina again in the future. Thank you!

Lisa remains our go-to person for watching our cats when we go out of town. She keeps us updated on how the cats are doing and sends plenty of pictures. She also makes sure that our one cat takes his meds with his food. We can trust Lisa to make sure the cats are well-cared for when we are not there.

Katie was great. She did everything that was asked. She played with the cats, sent photos and was able to give my cat medicine which isn’t the easiest of tasks! I would recommend her to any cat owner and in the future if she is available I would hire her again! Thanks Katie!

Leila went above and beyond with her care of my two cats while I was out of town! She sent me detailed updates about how the cats were doing every day and how they were interacting with her. She cleaned up after each visit and even vacuumed up some litter outside of the litter box! I came home to two very happy and well cared-for cats. Thank you Leila!

Tierney did an amazing job watching my seven month puppy and 4 year old cat. She was so attentive to their individual needs and personalities. It just so happened when she was watching our little ones it was time to transition my puppy to adult food. She kept me updated through the process and I knew my babies were in good hands the entire time I was away. She is also an excellent pet photographer

Our cat Rocket loves Emily :) Emily took care of Rocket a couple times now during our trip, including some long-term ones. That meant Emily had to come in twice a day, every day, for 2-3 weeks. She wasn't late to a single visit, gave Rocket lots of pets and attention, and sent us a lot of pictures while we were overseas. She truly went above and beyond as a sitter and we cannot recommend Emily enough!

Morgan cared for our senior cats, including one with complex medical needs, and understood how important routine is to their health and sense of security. Her medication experience including insulin, attention to detailed instructions, and calm, dependable manner gave us confidence in her care. Highly recommend.

Nadine did an amazing job taking care of our dog! She was super flexible, responsive, and made the whole process really easy for us. You can tell she genuinely cares about the dogs she watches, and we felt completely comfortable knowing our dog was in good hands. She was reliable, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly. We really appreciate everything she did and would absolutely recommend Nadine to anyone looking for a great sitter!

Dominic took care of our two cats, Borah and Zoey, while we were away for a week. He was reliable and consistent, arriving around the same time each day. We really appreciated knowing they were being checked on while we were away and would happily recommend him!

Ning was a wonderful cat sitter! She was very reliable, caring, and attentive, and took great care of my cat while I was away. She kept me updated during the visits, which gave me great peace of mind. Everything went smoothly, and I came home to a happy and well-cared-for cat. I would definitely book with Ning again and highly recommend her!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
