“We hadn't needed a cat sitter in a while, but even after some time Marissa still remembered all of our cat's likes and needs! She's enthusiastic and always happy to help. So nice to have a cat sitter we know we can count on!”

About: I grew up with dogs my entire life, including a German Shepherd, Golden Retriever, and Pitbull mix, so I’m very comfortable with both large and high-energy breeds. I also have experiences with extended stay puppy sitting where I managed feeding schedules, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and creating a calm, structured environment. I understand how important consistency, patience, and attentiveness are, especially with puppies. I’m currently preparing to welcome a Golden Retriever puppy of my own, so I’m very intentional about creating safe, positive experiences for dogs. I work Monday through Friday but my partner is currently home all day, so someone will always be there to care for your dog! We are open to boarding any night. Walks I am primarily available after work or sometimes the morning before. My partner is currently available most anytime! We are both reliable and detail oriented. We are prepping to bring in our very own golden retriever puppy, so will treat your dog as if they are our own! As mentioned above I work Mon-Friday roughy 8-4. My partner is currently home throughout the day so someone will always be there to care for your dog. We are open to boarding almost any day especially weekends where we are both home. Walks and drop ins work best for me before work hours or after but my partner has open availability so between us we can accommodate to you! Feel free to ask if you have any specific availability questions! :) Your dog’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. I live in a clean, calm, and pet-friendly environment and am very attentive to routines, feeding schedules, and safety during walks and care. I always keep dogs securely leashed on walks, avoid unsafe situations, and closely monitor their behavior and well-being. I understand how important trust is when someone is caring for your dog, and I take that responsibility seriously. I’m reliable, respectful of your home, and committed to providing a safe and positive experience. I’m also happy to send regular photo and video updates so you always feel confident and connected while your dog is in my care.
“Wendy was a great cat sitter! Made sure my boys were fed, played with them and gave them lots of treats and pets! Made me feel safe about leaving for vacation. Thank you again Wendy! 💓”

“Justice is fantastic and took great care of my dog! I really appreciated the updates and her attention to detail. It made the whole experience stress-free and I would highly recommend her!”

“I can't say enough great things about Jacqui! They went above and beyond while checking on my dog, and it gave me such peace of mind knowing my pup was in such good hands. Not only did they make sure all the basics were covered—food, water, bathroom breaks, but they also took the time to give my dog some love, playtime, and attention, which made all the difference. I got regular updates (including some adorable photos!), and I could tell my dog was happy, relaxed, and well cared for. It’s clear that Jacqui truly loves animals and treats them like their own. Reliable, kind, and completely trustworthy. I'd recommend Jacqui to anyone looking for someone to care for their furry family members. Thank you so much for everything!”

About: I am always the girl finding a dog and asking to pet them. As a kid, my sisters and I wished for a dog and that finally came true in 6th grade. Bailey was the best Christmas present and gifted us 14 beautiful years. Throughout that time, I’ve dog sat for a range of dogs (small, large, puppy and senior). Along with dogs, I am comfortable with cats. We have 2 orange cats of our own. I am available for walks, play dates and more. I am a teacher and have the summer off. I will be tutoring and will have a lot of flexibility during the week and would love to spend some time with your pets. I am very trustworthy and will take great care of your pets in your home. I love going for walks and playing with your pups or cats.
“Natalie took great care of my two kittens! She was incredibly responsive, responsible, and communicative, and she shared key updates and lots of photos! She was great!”

About: I have had a dog my whole life and feel very connected to them. Generally, I prefer big dogs but would love any type of dog. I have experience with dogs with seizures and dogs who need medication, as well as some experience with reactive dogs. Since I love to walk, and dogs love to be walked, I think this is a perfect fit! I'm currently not working (through the end of the summer) so I am available weekdays and evenings for walks or doggy day care, as well as on the weekends for walking or boarding. I have a large fenced yard and a friendly, patient Lab Mix to keep your dog company. I can crate your dog if needed and also have lots of indoor space for lounging or playing.

“Robin is terrific! I’m thankful I can rest easy knowing my dogs are in good hands while I’m at work — especially my older dog who needs extra TLC. Robin is patient, gentle, kind and understanding — so glad we found her!”

About: I’ve been taking care of animals since I was 8. I have lots of experience walking, feeding, playing with and hanging out with dogs of all breeds. I’m also completely comfortable and have a lot of experience administering medications to animals, if needed. I have plenty of time on my hands to play with your fur babies as I am currently working on launching my own business. I am available weekdays after 12pm and on the weekends. I have 2 cats who will love a new friend. I believe the biggest piece of finding the right sitter is trust and peace of mind. You can look forward to that knowing your pets will be in gentle, responsible, loving hands.
“Sofia is very organized, detailed and patient. She always communicates and sends lots of pictures. I feel much better knowing my three cats are in good hands with her.”

“Samantha was great with the cats. They let her pet them the first time she met them. She was very understanding of the complex situation I was in to have someone watch my daughter's cats.”

“Ellen took care of my cat Essie for a few days over Christmas and she made sure Essie’s food and water was topped off, brushed Essie, and played with her. Thanks for taking care of my girl over the Holiday!”

“Abby was amazing with our dog, Stella! While we were away, she kept us updated with sweet messages and adorable photos that showed how happy and comfortable Stella was. It gave us such peace of mind knowing our girl was being so well cared for. Abby went above and beyond, and we’re so grateful to have found her. We’ll definitely be booking with her again!”

About: I have owned dogs my whole life and love taking care of them! I have been sitting for dogs since I was 10 for neighbors and friends. I absolutely love walking dogs and giving them the loving care they deserve! I am currently a college student at DePaul so I am free besides when I am taking classes or studying. On weekends, I am free almost all the time. I have dog and baby sat since I was young, so I have lots of experience in clients homes. I am a great cleaner and good at keeping things in their right place!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Oak Park
Sofia gets an enthusiastic five stars! Her reports were so detailed and the amount care she put into watching our cat, fish, and home was unmatched by any other pet sitter we’ve used. We are so thankful to have found Sofia and will definitely work with her again in the future. Thank you so much, Sofia!

Another great booking with Rosario! We booked her for drop in visits for our dog while we were out of state for a wedding. She always sends lots of photos and videos of our boy having a great time - putting us at ease that he’s in good hands. Our return flight got cancelled multiple times and Rosario was so helpful and flexible with extending her visits so our boy wasn’t left alone until we finally got home two days later. We are so grateful!

I had a previous bad experience with another sitter on Rover so I was a bit nervous leaving my cat with another sitter. Liliia, however, took such good care of my cat, Floyd. She would communicate any questions she had regarding him and was responsive with my messages. She arrived on time for his visits (I booked 2 visits a day for 7 days). She also communicated to me when my cat wasn’t being compliant with his asthma inhaler, which I appreciated. I would definitely rebook with her again if needed. I would recommend her if you’re looking for someone that’s going to take good care of your pets.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
