About: I am a native born Chicago Dog Walker/Lover with a Pitbull German Shepherd mix named Starlord that I rescued from the streets at 3 weeks old. He is now a healthy and well balanced 7 year old. Thanks to him I have now dealt with every situation you could possibly think of in terms of dogs. Starlord has had a lot of friends over the years. Between family, friends, co-workers and word-of-mouth referrals I have had over 50 dogs in my care. Dog walking, dog boarding, medication administration, socialization and even training. When asked my clients always say the same thing: "I go to Maria because even though I know that no one can treat my dog the way I do Maria is the closest thing." It's true, I love every dog as if they were my own and treat them as such. I recently adopted Archie, from the CACC and have volunteered PAWS in preparation for him. I am comfortable with reactive, nervous or even “take your time” dogs. My goal is to become an official foster mom with what I am calling a “foster facility” to help dogs that need a bit more love. I truly believe that in order to be successful in this field well... You Must Love Dogs! I am currently a work from home mom so I am available to meet most schedule demands. This is also makes it easier to be available on shorter notices. Walks and drops in are available daily. The option for roller blading or biking also available. In home the option to be part of our daily life, with our two dogs and daughters is up to the temperament and request of the dog parents. We also have the ability to keep our guest dog separate from our current dogs at the request of the dog parents. Both crated and free range dogs welcome. In home our dogs often walk, bike, roller blade or hike nearby at the Des Plaines River Trail. We practice basic commands daily and enjoy structured daily toy time. This can be separate or together with our family as defined above.
