Pet care experience

Med student/whisker whisperer

Hi there! My name is Julie and I’m a third year medical student and a mom to a 4-year-old cat named Theo. Ever since I had my first pet hamster at the age of 7, I’ve loved hanging out with and taking care of our furry friends. I spent my childhood volunteering in animal shelters and taking care of my aunt’s dog. During my time in medical school, I adopted my cat Theo, who has been the best companion to sit alongside while studying. I have experience in dog walking and dog/cat/house sitting for various friends and clients in the Forest Park/Oak Park area and would love to branch out and meet new furry friends! As a pet parent myself, I understand how anxious it can be to be away from your pets, so I always make sure to send ample and detailed updates with photos while I am with them. I look forward to meeting you and your furry friends 💕

Julie was awesome with our kittens. We went out of town for 6 days and Julie proved to be a reliable and caring sitter. She stayed with our kittens for at least a half hour each day, playing and caring for them. She also went above and beyond to clean up after them (a few accidents happened) and even brought in our mail and packages. Highly recommend!

Please let me know if your pets have any special quirks or if there are any tasks you may need me to get done. In general, I’d like to know: - Temperament and behavior (ie. Do they like saying hi to strangers or other dogs? What do they like or dislike? Are there absolute “no’s” I should know about? Triggers during walks?) - Dietary needs (ie. Portion size, dietary restrictions, treats. Can they take treats from neighborhood stores during the walk?) - Health concerns (ie. Allergies, current medical issues if any) - Typical routine/schedule (ie. Set times they get fed, go for a walk, etc?) - Exercise needs (ie. Do they like to run? What are their favorite activities?) - Rules (ie. Are there any rules that you’ve set for the pet that I should know about?) - Emergency contact and vet information I’m also happy to do housesitting responsibilities like taking out the trash, bringing in packages, etc while you are gone.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
