“Our usual boarding place was booked and we were in a bind for our long vacation to Hawaii. A friend referred us and it Couldn’t have worked out more perfectly. We have a very large pup who needs a lot of activity and affection. Lech and Briselda took care of everything and more. The daily videos on IG were a huge bonus! We will be back again and again!”

“Brian did a fantastic job watching my dog, including giving medication 2x per day, and dealing with her anxiety being away from home. He was also flexible and accomodating when my travel plans unexpectedly fell through. Would definitely use Brian again in the future!”
“Julia was great! I had to book a rover last minute. Julia saved the day. We managed to get a meet up scheduled prior to Kiki’s stay. Kiki got a five star treatment. Plenty of communication. I felt like Kiki enjoyed her stay away from home just as much I enjoyed getting a short 3 day vacay. I will definitely book Julia again. Great location. I felt safe leaving her with Julia and I know Kiki enjoyed herself.”

“Laurianne and Sven were amazing! They sent updates and pictures each day and I felt like my pup was in good hands the whole time. Will definitely be using them again on future trips!”

“Susan is very flexible and quick to respond. She sends lots of daily photos and was able to follow specific dietary instructions as well as administrator insulin shots twice daily.”

“We were so thankful to find Nina over the holidays after several other options were fully booked. Our dogs warmed up to Nina and her boyfriend immediately and felt right at home. Nina was awesome in keeping me updated daily and making me aware of any odd behaviors. She was extremely responsive, considerate, and amazing to work with. We even ended up extending their stay midway through given such a good experience. Can't wait to book with Nina again!”

“Took such good care of our dog! We got lots of photo updates, which helped reassure us. She was able to accommodate all of our dog’s weird quirks and mannerisms, I could tell she ready my notes and applied those to their time together. Will absolutely use again!”

“Thank you Ian for being so caring and understanding with our lovely dogs. We appreciate your kindness patience and care. We knew they were in good hands and really loved all the pictures! We could tell they were comfortable. Thank you again.”

“Kyla took great care of Winston while we were on vacation for an extended period of time. This is the second time she has assisted while we were overseas. She has a proven record of taking care of our 17 month old, high energy Schnauzer and providing frequent updates. We will continue to ask for her assistance in the future.”

“This is my first time using Rover and I’m happy I gave it a try. Anette and her husband took great care of Kobe, keeping me updated and frequently sending pictures, very responsive and tending to Kobe as if he were their own. I felt a peace of mind while on vacation that Kobe was in good hands. I would certainly recommend Anette and request her again:)”

“Erica was so good to our dog over the holidays. She was a great communicator, sent pictures and accommodated our complicated schedule. I highly recommend Erica!”

“Karia took great care of Lovie, he had lots of yard space to run around in and other dogs to play with. Karia was also great with communication, and provided frequent updates on Lovie's stay. Would highly recommend and will be reaching out again when I need a dog sitter in the area.”

“My dog is like my child and she takes very good care of him she send me pictures and videos I don’t even have to ask I never worry with her. Her house is very clean she has a yard for him to run in I won’t use anyone else.”

“I couldn’t be happier with the care my dog received! Christian was amazing, super reliable, friendly, and clearly loves animals. They kept me updated with photos and messages every day, and I could tell my pup felt completely comfortable and happy. I highly recommend Christian to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter!”

“Irene was great with our two year old Westie, Bella! She was very responsive before and during Bella’s stay with her and Bella got to partake in many fun activities during her weekend stay! We loved getting many picture updates and Bella also loved hanging out with Irene’s son. Would definitely recommend Irene and her family for any pups that are kid friendly!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Oak Park
Five stars plus. This was Chauncey‘s first time doing a Rover visit and it couldn’t have gone any better thanks to Katherine and Cory. Chauncey is high energy to say the least and a patiently got him through a weekend without us. He got plenty of exercise and love and we are very grateful for hosting him for the weekend. Thanks again.

Jasmine was the best! Our babes loved her. She was so great with easing my own separation anxiety from the dogs and sent so many updates. She kept them active with tons of walkies and even got them to eat, which is a miracle since they usually skip a few meals at first. 15/10 would recommend and will 100% be dropping our babes off to her every time we’re in Chicago! We love Jasmine!

Eniya and her family are the best. They cared for Rah twice, and each time has been a wonderful experience. When walking up to Eniya's house this past and second time, Rah ran up and was happy to be back. That did everything for me. Once more, during her stay, even while the family was handling unforeseen situations, Eniya still tended to Rah with high regard. Full hearted endorsement of Eniya!

This was my first time having my dog stay with anyone not family. He immediately got along with Robert and was not anxious. When I picked him up, still upbeat attitude and no signs of distress. I could even hear him barking when I was walking towards the door on pickup day, which means he already considered Robert's place like home and was scaring off strangers 👍🏾. Robert was really easy to talk and coordinate with. He sent me photos if requested. He took the necessary precautions we discussed for my dog-aggressive dog, and didn't seem uncomfortable at any point.

Carolina is great with Zeke! She was able to take him for the week and provided wonderful updates. She gave him tons of playtime, walks, and he even ate normally (he usually does a hunger strike when he boards). So Zeke is very comfortable with her in her home & she has another Min Pin Zeke gets along with! Thanks to her for all her help and care for our furry child!

Absolutely amazing Rover! Leaving your pup is always stressful, but Maria made it as easy as possible. Lots of pupdates and, when I had travel delays, she helped navigate the app and was willing to lengthen his stay! Easily the best Rover I have ever had. I cannot recommend Maria enough.

This is my first time using Rover and I’m happy I gave it a try. Anette and her husband took great care of Kobe, keeping me updated and frequently sending pictures, very responsive and tending to Kobe as if he were their own. I felt a peace of mind while on vacation that Kobe was in good hands. I would certainly recommend Anette and request her again:)

We left our tiny (3.5 lbs) Chihuahua with Michelle and Otavio while we went to Japan for over a month. As soon as we left, he developed an ear infection. Michelle reached out to me right away to let us know. She made an appointment with our regular vet, took him to her (even though she is an hour away), and then gave him his medication for seven days. This is our third time having Michelle and Otavio watch Emerson. They’ve always taken such good care of him, I was not worried at all. The way they addressed this health issue was so impressive, I definitely hope to keep working with them in the future!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
