About: I grew up with dogs my entire life, including a German Shepherd, Golden Retriever, and Pitbull mix, so I’m very comfortable with both large and high-energy breeds. I also have experiences with extended stay puppy sitting where I managed feeding schedules, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and creating a calm, structured environment. I understand how important consistency, patience, and attentiveness are, especially with puppies. I’m currently preparing to welcome a Golden Retriever puppy of my own, so I’m very intentional about creating safe, positive experiences for dogs. I work Monday through Friday but my partner is currently home all day, so someone will always be there to care for your dog! We are open to boarding any night. Walks I am primarily available after work or sometimes the morning before. My partner is currently available most anytime! We are both reliable and detail oriented. We are prepping to bring in our very own golden retriever puppy, so will treat your dog as if they are our own! As mentioned above I work Mon-Friday roughy 8-4. My partner is currently home throughout the day so someone will always be there to care for your dog. We are open to boarding almost any day especially weekends where we are both home. Walks and drop ins work best for me before work hours or after but my partner has open availability so between us we can accommodate to you! Feel free to ask if you have any specific availability questions! :) Your dog’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. I live in a clean, calm, and pet-friendly environment and am very attentive to routines, feeding schedules, and safety during walks and care. I always keep dogs securely leashed on walks, avoid unsafe situations, and closely monitor their behavior and well-being. I understand how important trust is when someone is caring for your dog, and I take that responsibility seriously. I’m reliable, respectful of your home, and committed to providing a safe and positive experience. I’m also happy to send regular photo and video updates so you always feel confident and connected while your dog is in my care.
“Magdalena is the absolute best — my cat Freeway loves when she comes to watch him! She is attentive, sends a ton of pictures, and ensures he and my home is well cared for when she comes by. I would recommend her to anyone.”

About: Having grown up on a farm with 38 horses, minimum of 5 dogs at a time and too many cats to count, caring for and loving animals of all sizes has been a major part of my life. I’ve trained both dogs and horses and cared for all kinds of critters. When friends or family need a trusted person to care for or train their pet, I am the first person they call. My main job schedule can vary, but I am available most days of the week. Because I work in mental health and create my own schedule, I will like have random times available to drop in and take care of your pets. Outside of having to care for my own Rottweiler, Maya, I can care for your pet in between. I am able to take your dog on a walk, reinforce training, feed them, administer medication and play with them. If you have any other pets, just let me know how I can help and what they may want/need! Whatever your pet needs, I am happy to provide! Of course it is animal specific, but if I am caring for a pup, we can go on walks, play in a yard or inside, cuddle or just hangout peacefully. With any other pets, just let me know how I can show up for them and what else they prefer/need.
“Justice is great! She is reliable, friendly, and sent thorough updates and pictures while checking in on Cooper. Everything went super smoothly and we'd be happy to work with her again!”

“Luis was wonderful with our cat Mango when we needed last minute care over the holidays! He was super communicative and made sure to spend quality time with her while we were away.”

“Yesenia is truly an awesome catsitter. I would recommend her if you want to feel secure that your sitter is taking care of your pets and looking after them. I will be booking with her again!”

“Have booked Natalia twice so far and plan to rebook later this year! She is very communicative and kind, open to suggestions and truly cares for my cat :) so grateful for her as with my first booking my flight was canceled but Natalia was quick to propose additional drop in times! Thank you!!!”

“First time using Rover so I was a little apprehensive at first using a drop-in sitter. However, I found using Rover was a great experience and found Kimberly to be very professional at all times and be a fantastic pet sitter. She took wonderful care of my cat Kristy and I really appreciated the great photos, Rover card updates & follow-ups to any questions while I was away on vacation. I would absolutely have no hesitation about using Kimberly and Rover again. Great job!”

“Great communication, friendly and professional! Has experience with pitties, which is was a determining factor in our booking. Karen was very understanding and supportive of Diesel's needs.”

About: I've been a dog owner since I was 9 years old, so I know how important these furry guys are to their person! I've also volunteered at shelter's and have worked at a pet store giving customers the best advice to my ability and helping them. Be it dog/cat food, toys, collars, pet care, and much more! I will pay attention to your furry one and make them feel loved from the short time that they are away from you and give them the best experience that I can! I'm currently in school studying to become a Veterinarian! My Shih-Tzu Chuey made my life full of good memories and I want to make sure that every dog I can help is helped and lives a life full of love.

About: I'm intimately familiar with cats and their body language and have been taking care of my silly accident-prone orange boy for 6 years. For the past few years, I've taken care of multiple cats at a time, have rescued kittens, and house-sat for other cat owners. I know how to handle the crazy kitties that may love or hate strangers. I go to classes every weekday until 2:30pm, freeing up my entire afternoon to care for people's pets! I also have my own car, allowing me to travel more reliably. I brush, feed, water, and play with clients' pets while remaining respectful of their homes. I am a quick learner when it comes to understanding an animal's preferences, including sitting with them the entire time they eat to help them feel secure.
About: I’ve had dogs my entire life. I feel as though lots of people want dogs but don’t care to learn how to properly take care of them so, I go above and beyond to take care of the dogs I am able to take care of within my power. I would like to have a meet and greet before I take on any assignments. I am a TA for Oak Park 97 school district. I love animals; especially dogs. I have a degree in Zoology and seek a career working with animals. I usually am free after 3:30 pm Monday through Friday and have open availability most weekends. I try to respond to messages as soon as possible and will work to accommodate your pets needs as best as I can. I make sure that my client’s pet’s feel safe as possible when they’re with me. While walking, I won’t let the client’s dog interact with other people or dogs because you never know how dogs will react with strangers or other dogs. That is unless the owner gives me permission to do so. If feeding is required I will make sure that the dog gets the appropriate amount of food for their breed or per the owner’s instructions. If need be I will also play with the dog and make sure they get the appropriate amount of exercise that they need.
“Alonso was great and friendly! He came and met our pups before the drop-in to get acquainted with them and their routine. He was on the and sent photos to give us happy updates. We plan on continuing to have him help take care of our pups.”

“NaBeela took care of my 2 senior cats in my home while I was out of the country. She was kind, an awesome communicator, and easy to work with. Thank you for taking such great care of things and giving me peace of mind while I was away!”

About: Hello , I’m Timiya! I’ve been around animals my whole entire life. My great uncle taught me everything I need to know about animals; from how to take care of him to what they need to survive and how to make them feel comfortable and safe .He made sure I understood that humans are no better than animals we all need love and patience . My job is to create a beautiful fun loving friend I am your friends so that they can be understood and cared for and loved . For overnight pet I require the owner to equip the pet with a overnight bag! Of course with a pet like items. Here at my Pet Paradise your pet will be in the best care. I have a number of neighborhood animals Ive take care of on a daily basis. Along with a silly family dog named Nova that's obsessed with playfully attacking toes. I typically Allow pets to have the ability to freeroam in the mostly because its a new space for them. A lot of pets get shy and nervous so i allow them to feel the place out. So they know there safe and that they're no vet around the corner. Lol 😆

Maribel was perfect! I needed someone to administer medication to my cat 3 times a day over a holiday weekend with the least amount of stress possible and my mom was there to witness how professional and punctual she was. My cat Alfie is so thankful that he was was in pawfessional hands while he recovered from his urinary obstruction! ❤️❤️❤️ couldn’t recommend Mari more!

Heather was the best pet sitter we have ever had. Thank you. She was excellent at communication, and our cats loved her. Our 2 cats have been shy around previous sitters, but they were not with Heather. That's so important when you are away from your pets to know that they are getting the attention they need.
We were happy to have Karolly visit our senior kitty Camilla. She took her time during her visit and made sure to make a great connection with Camilla each time. She was communicative and professional, and we felt confident in her services. We would definitely recommend Karolly!

This our second time having Paola care for our furbabies while we were out of town and she was just as amazing as the last time. Words cannot express how much we appreciate her attention to detail and thoughtfulness. She even found a new game to play with our one kitty who doesn’t like to play very much! Paola truly takes all of our stress and worry away when we have to leave our babies. With Paola, we know they are in great hands!

Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Cicero. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
