“Marissa always helps us out even when it is last minute. She is flexible and Zeke loves his visits and walks with her. She even goes the extra mile to ask if he needs something special.”

About: I grew up with dogs my entire life, including a German Shepherd, Golden Retriever, and Pitbull mix, so I’m very comfortable with both large and high-energy breeds. I also have experiences with extended stay puppy sitting where I managed feeding schedules, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and creating a calm, structured environment. I understand how important consistency, patience, and attentiveness are, especially with puppies. I’m currently preparing to welcome a Golden Retriever puppy of my own, so I’m very intentional about creating safe, positive experiences for dogs. I work Monday through Friday but my partner is currently home all day, so someone will always be there to care for your dog! We are open to boarding any night. Walks I am primarily available after work or sometimes the morning before. My partner is currently available most anytime! We are both reliable and detail oriented. We are prepping to bring in our very own golden retriever puppy, so will treat your dog as if they are our own! As mentioned above I work Mon-Friday roughy 8-4. My partner is currently home throughout the day so someone will always be there to care for your dog. We are open to boarding almost any day especially weekends where we are both home. Walks and drop ins work best for me before work hours or after but my partner has open availability so between us we can accommodate to you! Feel free to ask if you have any specific availability questions! :) Your dog’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. I live in a clean, calm, and pet-friendly environment and am very attentive to routines, feeding schedules, and safety during walks and care. I always keep dogs securely leashed on walks, avoid unsafe situations, and closely monitor their behavior and well-being. I understand how important trust is when someone is caring for your dog, and I take that responsibility seriously. I’m reliable, respectful of your home, and committed to providing a safe and positive experience. I’m also happy to send regular photo and video updates so you always feel confident and connected while your dog is in my care.

About: I’ve taken care of my own Goldendoodle for over 7 years, training him, teaching him tricks, and matching his energy with enthusiasm and attention! I’m currently working a remote internship, which gives me a very flexible schedule and plenty of time to provide attentive, personalized care for your dog. Aside from a few brief meetings throughout the day, I’m free to spend my time keeping your pup company and making sure they feel safe and loved. I’m available for daytime visits, overnight stays, weekends, and extended care whenever needed. My goal is to make sure your dog receives plenty of attention, affection, and individualized care while you’re away, so you can have complete peace of mind. While I’m not able to board dogs in my own home, I love providing attentive care in their own home, the place they’re most comfortable. Staying in a familiar environment helps many dogs feel more relaxed, and I make it a priority to maintain their usual routine and give them plenty of companionship while you’re away. As a dog owner myself, I understand how important the little things are: keeping up with mealtimes, making time for play and exercise, knowing when it’s time to rest, and giving every dog the patience and affection they deserve. My goal is to make your pet feel safe, happy, and cared for until you’re back home. I live a very active lifestyle, so I’m always happy to match your dog’s exercise needs—whether that’s long walks, outdoor adventures, or lots of playtime. While I’m not able to board pets in my own home, I’m more than happy to care for them where they’re most comfortable: in their own home and routine.
About: I have extensive experience caring for both dogs and cats. I am especially comfortable with high-energy dogs and anxious dogs. I trained my family’s dogs many basic skills and have practice administering medications. I love all animals and would be honored to take care of yours! I’m currently in graduate school, looking for a part-time job; and would love to help take care of your pets! My current schedule is open for any day of the week, anytime. I am happy to feed, walk, crate, or simply play with your dog or cat! I am quite flexible and have stubborn dogs of my own, so I know all the tricks of getting pups to do what you need them to do.
About: Hi, I’m Abby! Neighbors, friends and family have trusted me to take care of their pets while away. I’m trustworthy, safe and reliable. I follow all directions given, and communicate well. I’m currently working part-time, so I have plenty of time to walk, take care and play with your pet while you’re away. My schedule is pretty flexible. I make sure your pets are in safe areas and I follow all directions given to me. I care for them like they are my own, and respect your home and space.
“Mara was fantastic! She drove out to me for a meet and greet with my pup before I went out of town so we could get him warmed up to her. Even though he was iffy at first, Mara worked to get Cody comfy with her during the 5 days she walked him when he stayed at my mom’s house. Mara was very communicative, kind, and always on time. Thanks so much Mara!”

“Alma is absolutely great! We met Alma through another dog friend in the neighborhood and I immediately could tell Alma “knows dogs”. She has been so patient and upbeat when interacting with Piper (who can be a little bit of handful or a little dramatic) who comes from an abused past.”

“I am so happy that we met Jacqui and she agreed to walk our two year old pup for the week. Jacqui was extremely clear, communicative, professional trustworthy, flexible, consistent and kind both during the booking and the week. Our dog, Max loved his walks (she took some great photos). We can’t wait to work with Jacqui again - she’s got a lifelong friend in Max and client in us!”

About: Having gotten my first pet at 15 and being an only child of 2 working parents, I have spent half my life caring for and loving my furry best friends. I have experienced life with a number of breeds and currently own a sassy Shiba Inu. I love long, adventurous walks and believe the dog should have e agency over where they want to go and explore. I will take good care and give lots of love to your furbabies. I am currently unemployed so I have nothing but time to take extra good care of your pets. We can spend as much time as we need to make sure they get all the time they want outside and walking. I am available neatly all day so we can find a time that fits for you! I currently live in a condo so dog walks are the primary outside time for my baby. This means we explore alot and our at home time is filled with play dates and cuddles as she wants.
“We have been using Jacob for the past few months and he is very reliable. He is responsive and shows up on short notice if we are in a jam. Our dog seems happy when we get home and we always get a photo of their time together. Would definitely recommend.”

About: Hi there! My name is Julie and I’m a third year medical student and a mom to a 4-year-old cat named Theo. Ever since I had my first pet hamster at the age of 7, I’ve loved hanging out with and taking care of our furry friends. I spent my childhood volunteering in animal shelters and taking care of my aunt’s dog. During my time in medical school, I adopted my cat Theo, who has been the best companion to sit alongside while studying. I have experience in dog walking and dog/cat/house sitting for various friends and clients in the Forest Park/Oak Park area and would love to branch out and meet new furry friends! As a pet parent myself, I understand how anxious it can be to be away from your pets, so I always make sure to send ample and detailed updates with photos while I am with them. I look forward to meeting you and your furry friends 💕 My schedule fluctuates but I am flexible and always open to communicating to work out a schedule that works for you and the furry friend! I have a passion for taking care of others, whether they be people or animals! Safety and comfort of your pet will always come first.
“Fanni is wonderful and I felt at ease when Chomper was in her care. She is communicative, responsible, and even braved walking up 13 flights of stairs when the elevator in my building was out. I am so appreciative of her time and would highly recommend her for any pet care needs!”

“Annie was able to help me out in a pinch within a couple days of a trip. She walked my pup daily for about a week when he was staying at my moms house and was flexible with her schedule as it fluctuated during the booking. Thanks Annie!”

About: I am able to care for a variety of furry friends, ranging from puppies to senior dogs. I do have some personal (not professional) experience in training that follows respect, obedience, and basic commands! Keeping your pup active, in a safe environment and always loved are my top priorities ☺️ I also offer pet taxi services - if your fur baby happens to have an upcoming vet service or even grooming service, I will happily provide transportation! These options will count as a scheduled ‘Drop in’ visit if you’re interested! 😊 Im currently a med school student but am in the process of transitioning from clerkships to elective year so with some extra free time, I am able to tend to your pets needs throughout most times of the day. My schedule does vary depending on the specialty / clinic I’ll be in, but the details can be sorted out with the needs you and your pets require! I have 3 dogs myself, 2 of them currently reside with my parents up north due to me being here for medical school while my fiance and I travel with our sweet newly adopted girl. My pups love to run around and get as much play time as possible so I’m used to the high energy pups!

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Forest Park
Amaya was wonderful. My dog was pretty scared of some fireworks and wouldn't go for a potty walk. Amaya hung out with her the whole time, and even offered to breifly come back to try a quick potty break, which worked! She went above and beyond. And was incredibly patient. 5 stars, 100%.

Shannon took great care walking our dog, who can be stubborn. She was patient with him and gave him lots of pets and encouragement, and over time he became more cooperative. She was also flexible with timing and is easy to work with. He said to give her five stars.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
