About: UPDATE JULY 2024, PLEASE READ: If you see that my reply time is incredibly slow, it's because my account was inactive for a while due to my dad being hospitalized. I had to help care for him for a long period of time and I was unable to reply to any messages on Rover. My dad is okay now and I am available for walks and sitting again. I was a dog groomer for almost 2 years. I'm well-trained in animal safety. I care deeply about all animals, so I'll form a bond with your animals. I'm currently unemployed, so I'll have loads of time to provide love for your animals of any kind! Just let me know what you need/what you're looking for! I understand the basics of taking care of dogs, cats and other animals just like most pet sitters. But I also provide what some sitters don't: love! I'm very sweet and I can give your animals great love and care. Plus, I'll provide some pretty amazing photos of them. If anything out of the ordinary does happen, I will do my best to help and I will contact you immediately.
“Jessica is wonderful! She has been very patient with our young, energetic (and sometimes poorly behaved) pit bull. She also has been patient with me, my husband, and our frequently changing schedule. Thank you for being so great and dependable!”

“Tamara is so patient with our anxious dog! Our dog warmed up so quickly to Tamara and its a relief knowing our pup will be looking forward to walks while we are away at work. Tamara sends great updates and leaves notes to let us know how our dog is doing while we are at the office. She even came for a meet and greet to make sure our dog felt safe with her before her first walk.”

“Alex does great with our 5 month old puppy that already weighs 100 pounds, it helps so much he adds training tips to their walk as I am disabled and need pup to always stay in heal on my left. Alex does a great job teaching him on the walks!”

About: I have ample experience dog-sitting, dog walking, and caring for animals. I love learning about dog grooming techniques in my free time. I have experience administering oral medication to dogs, driving with dogs in the vehicle, and basic grooming techniques like bathing, blow-drying, and brushing. This is my summer job, so I have lots of time during the day to care for your pup! I'm available mostly during the weekdays for walks and drop-ins, and some weekends for dog-sitting, so I am a good fit for you if you need someone to take care/check on your dog during the work day. I make sure I work with owners to determine how their dog likes to be walked, as well as what is the safest option for them (harness, prong collar, etc.), and I always uphold what the owners have decided. I am comfortable driving with pets in the car as well. I have experience crating dogs as well, if that is something your pup needs.
“I am so happy to be able to rely on the fact that James is extremely punctual. He is here every morning at the designated time. He has been patient with my small dog, who has a preference for women and has had to grow accustomed to a male dog walker. James has given him space and encouragement.”

About: Hello I’m Marine I’m a bit new to Rover but that doesn’t reflect my experience. I've been an animal lover for as far back as I can remember, and have cared for my own dogs and cats throughout my life. I have experience dog walking at various shelters, pet sitting, fostering animals, taking my own dog to pet therapy visits at senior centers, and volunteer transporting injured animals to get care through a local response group. I'm familiar with the needs of senior dogs, and feel comfortable administering medication if needed. If you work odd hours or need evening drop in visits or walks I’m your person! There are some weeks I have earlier day time availability as well, it doesn’t hurt to ask. Looking forward to meeting your dog soon! I have reliable transportation to get to you. I look forward to getting to know your dog and making sure they are having fun, getting exercise, and lots of attention! I will take great care to be respectful of your dog and of your home. I look forward to discussing in detail your care instructions and will follow them closely because I like to provide the kind of service I would want for my own pets.
“Angelina is fantastic with Griffey! She is super communicative, punctual, and makes me feel at ease knowing he is in good hands. Love the updates and photos too; it’s clear she really cares. Highly recommend!!”

About: I’ve had experience with dogs since I was eight years old! From owning a dog to working at a dog-grooming shop at 14, I have experience with both small and big dogs. Especially being in college, I get withdrawal being away from my dog, so this is free therapy for me! I am home for the summer from college, so I am available most of the day! I am very flexible with time and location! I’m in Brookfield until September. Unfortunately, I cannot offer pet sitting services in my own home because my dog doesn’t do well with other dogs, but I am more than comfortable pet sitting in your home!

About: I am very caring and compassionate for animals and pets. I have a cat of my own named Bruni and he is my best friend. Attentive and reliable pet care is assured with me as your pet sitter! I work as a teacher so my morning and afternoons are busy up until 3:30pm. However, I am available after those hours. I do have days off due to breaks, for example, winter break, where I can be reliable all day during those times. I have a cat of my own that I attend to 24/7. Therefore, I am very familiar with pets’ needs. I will assure you great communication and punctuality.
About: I’ve been taking care of small and big dogs since I was 15.I’ll make sure they are receiving engaging and energetic walks! Your dog will be in safe hands with me 🫶 I am off during the summer and have plenty of availability for your and your dog/cats needs. I am available during the day and evening, as well as weekends when you have a trip planned. At home my two shibas are well taken care off with daily meals prepared, walks, and enrichment activities! I will make sure to treat your dog as my own
“She is absolutely amazing! She follows instructions perfectly, communicates quickly and clearly, and always prioritizes safety. I really appreciate how she reinforces our dog’s training and handles dogs with so much care and confidence. We trust her completely and feel very lucky to have found her. Highly recommend!”

About: Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Having owned and cared for both dogs and cats throughout my life, I’ve developed a deep understanding of their different personalities, routines, and needs. I genuinely enjoy building trust with each pet and creating a positive, stress-free experience for them while their owners are away. Whether your pet loves playtime, long walks, cuddles on the couch, or simply having a calm and caring companion nearby, I’m committed to providing attentive, loving care that helps them feel right at home. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member, and I take that responsibility seriously. As a recent college graduate, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to prioritize the pets I care for throughout the day. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals, and pet care has always been a natural part of my life. Whether it’s morning walks, midday check-ins, play sessions, or evening cuddles, I can provide consistent attention and care while keeping pet owners updated and giving them peace of mind while they’re away. I treat every pet as if they were my own. My goal is to make them feel as comfortable and loved as possible by sticking to their usual routine and giving them the attention they need. Whether that means energetic playtime, long walks, lots of cuddles, or simply providing calm companionship, I adapt my care to each pet’s personality and preferences. I make safety a top priority, ensure they have plenty of fresh water, exercise, and enrichment, and keep owners informed with updates and photos throughout their stay or visit. I understand that trusting someone with your pet is a big decision, and I strive to provide dependable, compassionate care every time.
About: I worked at a doggy daycare in the past and gained extensive experience with most dog breeds and their temperament. I owned a labrador for 12 years so I have plenty of experience with high energy/high maintenance pets. I garauntee I will take care of your pet as if it were my own. I am very active and can keep up the pace with high energy dogs! I am happy to accommodate specific requests for your pets to make sure they’re comfortable and feel safe while they’re in my care. Feel free to ask me any additional questions about my qualifications or my background in taking care of dogs. I look forward to taking care of your furry friends! :) I’m self employed, so my schedule is very flexible during the day. I can take last minute walks or drop-in visits with little inconvenience to my work. I have expertise in reading a dogs body language whether it be happy, excited, feeling social, distressed, or scared. While you’re gone, you can trust that I will listen to your pet’s needs. While I do not accept boarding, I do offer home visits.
About: I am very active and can provide any type of exercise that your pet needs. I am also very meticulous so if your pet has a diet they need to stick to I’ll make sure it’s met. I would also be happy to follow the needs of your pups whether that be administering medication or carrying them up and down the stairs! I am so thankful to be in college and as a student I am currently fully remote which means I’ll have 100% of my attention to give to your pet! I have 2 dogs that are very friendly when meeting new pups but I introduce them slowly to make sure that the environment is relaxed. But in some cases where pups have food aggression or possessiveness over toys I make sure to keep them apart and bring them out once the food/toys are put away.
About: I am a grad student in education and just moved to Chicago from Detroit, and sadly my lab and kitties had to stay in Michigan due to my living situation. I've taken care of my dogs, and cats my whole life. I love all animals, and have spent time in the state of Michigan being a dog walker for a small local dog walking business. I have house sat for a few different cats along the way as well. From small-large dogs i'm comfortable around them all! I can be available for the summer Monday-Sunday, Come august 26th, My availability will be MWF and saturday/sunday. Mornings-Evenings I can be available at anytime. I always make sure to see if the owners have any specfic instrutions first and foremost. I will always greet the dog/cat first in calm manner, have them sniff me, say hi, get used to me. Then we get ready for a walk, on walks I'm extremely aware on my surroundings and what could happen or not happen. Water bowls are always full, food at the time the owners said. I make sure to make friends with the animals, and their safety/comfort comes first and foremost. This all will go with cats as well! I tend to be more cautious with the cats so they know i'm there to take care of them.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Lyons
Amaya was wonderful. My dog was pretty scared of some fireworks and wouldn't go for a potty walk. Amaya hung out with her the whole time, and even offered to breifly come back to try a quick potty break, which worked! She went above and beyond. And was incredibly patient. 5 stars, 100%.

James did a great job with my dog, Daisy! He walked her once on Thursday and twice on Saturday, and everything went really smoothly. He was always on time, friendly, and clearly comfortable with her. Daisy currently has an injured knee, so she needs limited activity, and James was very attentive to that. He listened to my instructions and took great care of her. I also appreciated the updates and photos through the Rover app after each visit—it gave me peace of mind. I felt very comfortable with James and will definitely be booking him again!
Tamara has been great! Tamara is responsive and trustworthy. She’s flexible with my odd work hours and has been able to make last minute requests work. She does well with my very large dog and he loves spending time with her. I appreciate all her pictures and it’s been a big piece of mind knowing he’s taken care of when I’m at work. Tamara’s very thoughtful and will leave treats for my big guy which he loves! Would highly recommend!

Jessica is marvelous! My dog EllieBean takes a while to warm up to new people. Jessica took her time over several visits to gain EB's trust. She was patient and professional, even when the weather and EB were a challenge. They have now become great friends. In addition, Jessica is a pleasure to work with and always shows up on time. I'm so grateful to have found Jessica!

This is our second booking with Carly. She’s been extremely efficient and friendly with our dog. Each time she walked him through the area he liked and he always enjoyed his time with her, you could tell how happy he was when they returned. We recommend Carly 100%!

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
