I've been an animal lover for as far back as I can remember, and have cared for my own dogs and cats throughout my life. I have experience dog walking at various shelters, pet sitting, fostering animals, taking my own dog to pet therapy visits at senior centers, and volunteer transporting injured animals to get care through a local response group. About: I have over 4 years of experience in dog walking and overnight dog sitting, and grew up taking care of our family dog. Moreover, I am experienced in senior care, in dogs with special needs (deafness, autoimmune disease, etc), and high energy dogs! I have a very flexible schedule with availability during typical work hours, weekends and holidays. I am more than happy to help out in early mornings! I am open minded about other caged animals besides dogs but would prefer no cats as my husky dog has a high prey drive. About: I'm an art history professor at the University of Chicago which means I have a flexible schedule for walks and drop in visits. I enjoy running and love taking active dogs for a jog around the neighborhood. I really love exploring the outdoors with my dogs, so if your pup is up for it, we'll go for a hike too! I've lived with dogs my entire life and have experience with very young pups to geriatrics and am comfortable administering medication. I have one smallish and one large dog at home and one cat, but I am comfortable with dogs of all sizes. I also have experience with exotics and small animals and have cared for geckos, hamsters, guinea pigs, birds, chinchillas...even wildlife! I volunteer as a resident animal keeper at the Willowbrook Wildlife Center. I'm an all around animal lover, excited to meet your pets! About: UPDATE JULY 2024, PLEASE READ: If you see that my reply time is incredibly slow, it's because my account was inactive for a while due to my dad being hospitalized. I had to help care for him for a long period of time and I was unable to reply to any messages on Rover. My dad is okay now and I am available for walks and sitting again. I was a dog groomer for almost 2 years. I'm well-trained in animal safety. I care deeply about all animals, so I'll form a bond with your animals. I'm currently unemployed, so I'll have loads of time to provide love for your animals of any kind! Just let me know what you need/what you're looking for! I understand the basics of taking care of dogs, cats and other animals just like most pet sitters. But I also provide what some sitters don't: love! I'm very sweet and I can give your animals great love and care. Plus, I'll provide some pretty amazing photos of them. About: I have had at least 2 dogs in my life for the last 10 years. Currently in my house we have 3 dogs. I often walk them at least 30 to 45 minutes everyday and feed them. I have also been able to watch them and my house all alone. I have also watched others people's animals and walked them or fed them. I am currently looking for a steady job and have a bunch of free time right now and I am super flexible when it comes to times and days. I love cuddling with dogs and just relaxing. About: I am doing some daycare and hosting again, as of May 2023. However, I am only able to take hypo-allergenic dogs at this time. I am always available to dog-sit in your home. Also, I can walk your dog locally (Westchester, Cermak and Wolf area). I am also available to check-in on your dog locally, 7 days a week. I have been on Rover for five years now. Many years of dog-sitting and hosting experience before that. I also like to walk dogs. I have been a member of a dog training club, and my own dogs earned their "Good Citizen" awards.
