“Grace was a wonderful pet sitter and house guest. We received picture updates throughout her entire stay, and I could visibly see how comfortable our pups were with her. She was very communicative before, during and after. She left our house spotless. She was also very helpful in bringing in several packages during her stay. Thanks Grace! The pups can't wait for your May visit. :-)”

“Sarah was amazing! Our pup felt very comfortable with her and was treated great! Sarah provided awesome updates and made us feel really comfortable. Will definitely use her again!”

About: My name is Lauren and currently reside in Elmhurst. I am looking for pet walking jobs (or jogging) or pet sitting jobs to help supplement my income, but I also genuinely just love being around dogs. My family has had pets my entire life and I have lots of experience walking and providing care for animals. Big dogs, little dogs, rabbits, cats and even guinea pigs. I have experience raising Guide Dogs through the New Zealand Blind Foundation as well as Leader Dogs for the Blind in Michigan. I was a volunteer at the Boulder Humane Society in Colorado in my undergraduate days so I am used to all breeds/types of dogs. If you’re looking for a dog sitter or the occasional dog walk - I’d love to meet you and your pup.
“Jessica was a life saver in accommodating my request at the last minute. She was even able to work with my surly Chihuahua and coax him into and out of his leash. I will definitely hire her again.”
“Katalina was great while watching our dog and cat! She was responsive and left our home spotless! Thank you for helping us get away for a few days… not easy to do with 3 kiddos these days. It was such a relief to not have to worry about the animals. I would def recommend her!”

“Diane is amazing! Our dog Juni is really tough. She's petrified of strangers and sometimes nips. She's very slow to warm up and sometimes won't even let sitters let her outside. There have been times when she boycotted eating for days, and even when we have family watch her, she's often sick for days after we get back because of stress. Diane worked with Juni and treated her with kindness, patience, and understanding. She gave her space and even did some emotion/body coding work with her which I thought was really cool. She treated our house with respect and we returned to it spotless. I felt very safe and comfortable having her stay in our home, and I think Juni did too. She was in great spirits when we got back and she even had a great few days of eating, no stress sickness. We so appreciate Diane's willingness to work with her! In addition, she was very communicative and thorough when it came to the details/logistics of the stay, and came by in advance to meet us and Juni. I would recommend Diane to anyone.”

“Miguel was fantastic! I got tons of updates, I could see that my dog was getting the very best care. Would definitely recommend Miguel for a dog sitting and walking.”

About: I am always the girl finding a dog and asking to pet them. As a kid, my sisters and I wished for a dog and that finally came true in 6th grade. Bailey was the best Christmas present and gifted us 14 beautiful years. Throughout that time, I’ve dog sat for a range of dogs (small, large, puppy and senior). Along with dogs, I am comfortable with cats. We have 2 orange cats of our own. I am available for walks, play dates and more. I am a teacher and have the summer off. I will be tutoring and will have a lot of flexibility during the week and would love to spend some time with your pets. I am very trustworthy and will take great care of your pets in your home. I love going for walks and playing with your pups or cats.
“Destiny is a fantastic person and dog sitter! Our standard poodle can be a picky guy when it comes to new people, he immediately liked Destiny! She updated us with photos, cooked his particular food, took him to a pet store his favorite activity and lots of walks. Ice has a new best friend, definitely a 10/10!”

About: We are the proud owners of an adorable dog (Ace) and are adept with dogs of all shapes and sizes. Everyone in the house (Micah and I) work from home full-time, so the dogs will never be left alone. Ace is always great host and will have a lot of fun with his new furry friend 😊 Ace (a miniature poodle / Bishon mix) can mingle with any visitors but can be separated upon request. Please bring dog beds and food. We can’t wait to host your little friend! We work from home full time and plenty the time to dedicate to watching and playing with the pups! Morning walks, afternoon potty breaks, whatever the dogs needs are will be met. Fenced in backyard and large park across the street for long walks. Perfect environment for your dogs staycation! As a proud dog owner ourselves, the pups are never far from our minds and will get plenty of attention…maybe too much lol
“Angelina was so wonderful with our dog Odis for her overnight stay while we went out of town on vacation. She is very responsive, communicative, and clean. Highly recommend! We can’t wait to have her come back again!”

“Justice took good care of my dog and four cats. She was very communicative and had to follow a medication regimen and somewhat complicated feeding system. I will definitely book her again when I’m next out of town!”

“Sage was great! I was very nervous using a new sitter for this trip. We were leaving the country and had an elderly cat going through some health issues. Sage was willing to do all the things needed to help our cat, in addition to the regular tasks of care for her, our dog and a couple of little potatoes. She was reliable and very communicative during her stay. Left the house in order. Definitely will use her again!”

“Maddie was just what our family needed. She is responsible and a good communicator- our two Goldens really felt relaxed around her and she gave them really good care. Maddie even got our one storm-phobic dog through two Thunderstorms and they had all their needs met. We felt completely at ease being out of town and leaving Maddie in charge.”

“Kim is so sweet !!! As a dog owner I always hate having to leave my girls anywhere but Kim is such a good dog caretaker and I could have ease knowing my girls were in good hands !! Got updates as the day went on ! And she took the time to love and care for the girls !! 10/10”

“We had Cheryl watch our senior dog, who had only ever been left overnight with family before, so I was definitely a bit nervous. Cheryl was absolutely wonderful and put my mind at ease right away. She took such great care of our dog and kept us consistently updated, which meant so much to us. We could not be happier with the experience and will definitely be using Cheryl again in the future. Highly recommend!”

“Dom was great with Rani and made us feel comfortable leaving her for the weekend! She sent daily updates and made sure to adhere to the guidelines we had for her. Dom was clean, prompt, and communicative - would definitely work with her again!”

Isabel was absolutely wonderful with our two dogs, Hawk and Trigger! She went above and beyond to make sure they were happy, comfortable, and well cared for. We received great updates and could tell that she genuinely cared about them. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. We would highly recommend Isabel to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and reliable dog sitter. We will definitely be using her again!
Gena was great! My dog can be shy with new people, but she warmed up to her right away. Gena sent pictures and showed them walking and sitting outside on the deck. Gracie was calm and happy when we got home. We’ll definitely use Gena in we have a need in the future.

Stephanie took great care of Drogo and handled my nervous boy with care. She was communicative and responsive and sent lots of pictures while I was away. Drogo had a great time with her and I am looking forward to being able to have her watch Drogo in the future.
Miguel is more professional and reliable than we could have hoped for in house sitting to care for our Australian Shepard. Miguel is absolutely wonderful, respectful, responsible, and knows dogs!! Our Aussie was well taken care — exercised, fed, meds every morning, and loved. I recommend Miguel and we plan to ask him to watch our pup in the future.

Sage is amazing. She watched our 2 cats, dog, and home while we were on vacation for 9 days. She sent various updates throughout the day and helped ease my anxiety about being away from my animals for so long. Our dog loved her! We will definitely be utilizing her again. I could not recommend her more!

Max was an outstanding pet sitter, and I recommend him without hesitation. I was traveling internationally for over two weeks, so it was incredibly important to find someone I could trust with both my home and my senior dog, Daisy. Max exceeded every expectation. He sent thoughtful updates and photos every day, making it easy to relax and enjoy my trip knowing Daisy was happy and well cared for. It was obvious from his messages that he genuinely enjoyed spending time with her, and it was equally clear that Daisy had become very attached to him. As a pet owner, there is nothing more reassuring than knowing your dog is not just being cared for, but truly loved. Max also took excellent care of my home. He brought in the mail, watered my indoor and outdoor plants, kept everything neat and tidy, and was always easy to communicate with. When I returned home, Daisy was happy, healthy, and clearly comfortable after spending time with him. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I will absolutely book Max again, and I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable, kind, communicative, and genuinely caring pet sitter.
The weekend of my son and daughter-in-law’s wedding, Angelina provided care to their cat as well as my three cats, staying overnight for two nights at my home. Prior to that weekend, she came over to meet the cats and myself and run through their daily care routine. Even my shy cat Brody seemed curious about her. Wedding weekend, she was great at providing updates through text and photos throughout her stay, and I appreciated her attention to cleaning up their litter boxes and feeding mats one more time before she left. She has a gift for working with animals and is trustworthy and easy to communicate with. I will definitely use her again!

Dana did a great job taking care of our dog while we were on vacation for the week. She was very thorough when meeting with us before hand, and it was obvious that she takes her job seriously! She even stayed in our home a few nights and brought her own sheets so we wouldn’t have to wash them after. Highly recommend Dana!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in La Grange Park on Rover is $64.2 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 8,112 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across La Grange Park. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred La Grange Park walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in La Grange Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in La Grange Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
