Stephanie was a joy to have taken care of my kitties. I asked for pictures to be sent from each feeding, as one of my cats is diabetic and needs insulin (and I can be a nervous mama around his health!) She sent lots of photos right on time and my cats warmed up to her right away. She was super communicative– asking questions and always responding right away. House was left nice and tidy, and she even offered to put new clean sheets back on the bed when stripping the ones off from her stay. I will definitely be calling Stephanie again!

Sage was great! I was very nervous using a new sitter for this trip. We were leaving the country and had an elderly cat going through some health issues. Sage was willing to do all the things needed to help our cat, in addition to the regular tasks of care for her, our dog and a couple of little potatoes. She was reliable and very communicative during her stay. Left the house in order. Definitely will use her again!

Ruby did a fantastic job taking care of our pets and our home!! We came home to three very happy nuggets. I think she brushed them while we were away, since our (very large) dog’s coat is super shiny - and she even took out the trash before leaving! We had to extend our trip by 2 days for a family emergency, and she was incredibly flexible and was able to provide care for the additional 2 days. Ruby definitely went above & beyond, and we’d love to have her sit for our dog & 2 cats again any time!

We were traveling for 4 days and She sent us photos everyday with a short text of what they did. Also-when we got home -the condo was pristine. We will be happy to contract her again!

About: My family has had at least one dog most of my life, one of which became my best friend, and he (Bear) was the reason I named my current dog (Polar) after him. I have my own 100+ pound white Lab who had a whole lot of energy when he was a puppy ,so I am familiar with how crazy the young ones (and older ones too) can get. Your pet is safe with me, (s)he will be treated like family, and as if (s)he were my own dog to love. I am currently a full-time MBA student and can be home full-time if needed. Potty breaks every few hours, or as requested by him/her. Lots of play time in between, as I always need an excuse to take a break from my studies... My family has had at least one dog almost my entire life, and I currently have my own 100+ pound white Lab, so I am capable to providing care as if it were my own dog. I have a fenced in yard that your dog will be allowed to go out to every few hours, or whenever he/she indicates the need. One neighbor does not have a dog, the other house does have a dog but is only outside for a few minutes at a time. I do have an alley behind my house where very rarely somebody in the neighborhood might walk their dog, but the strong chain link fence will keep them separate. Inside has miscellaneous stuff around the house that may be an issue if your dog chews items, but I can identify and remove any distractions deemed necessary. I have lots of toys and balls for your dog to play with, whatever he or she wants... In your home, I will follow any and every rule you establish. Whatever you say goes. Please give me a detailed list with any guidelines that need to be followed and I will do so.

Rajda did an amazing job taking care of our 4 small dogs! Each one has their unique personality and she was able to meet each of their needs. They loved her from the first time they met her. She was able to think outside of the box to make sure they all ate and gave our senior dog her daily medicine. She followed our directions and kept us informed and sent photos and videos so we could see how our babies were doing. She was very responsive and left the house in great shape. She even watered our flowers. She was the best sitter we have had! We will be hiring her again!

About: I’ve taken care of dogs ever since I was young. I’ve had many dogs over the years and all were loved, cared for, and given a life they deserve. I’m currently working part time and have hybrid classes. So, I have time to meet the needs of families and their fur babies. I am available to drop in the day, or spend nights to make sure your animals are cared for. I make sure they have clean water and food when needed. I let them out to run around and take pets on walks. I brush animals to make their coats soft, and offer baths.

About: Are you looking for the BEST pup 🐶 sitter look no further! Want someone who knows dogs inside and out! I’m your girl! I will love your pups like they are my own. Don’t DELAY bookings go fast! Filling up already for holidays no more summer bookings available! If you want to secure a booking with me don’t wait! My repeats alone are huge. See what sets me above all others❤️ What’s sets me apart from other sitters LOVE 💕. When your fur baby is in my care they are truly loved when they are staying here in my home. This is their home when you are away! My repeat customers alone are numerous because of this exact love we give them. I have rescued dogs and cats for over 12 years!! Our household is an animal heaven. Our family truly bonds with your fur baby. I love caring for our four legged family members. I am trust worthy and patient. I have a large yard fenced in yard with lots of room for play. (There also lots of animals who are in the area fyi. Some dogs have been known to grab what’s leftover from hawks or coyotes). I am great with puppies and puppy training lots of positive reinforcement. I do not take care of senior pups with mobility issues or are blind. Will play with them and give lots of attention to. I have boarded dogs, cats, bunnies and hamsters. I understand when attention is needed. I however do not allow anyone in my home during meet n greet or at time of drop off. Meet n greets are held outside in my front yard. I also do not pick up or do drops off unless you are local. Please know I only crate if the owner crates. Pups are free to roam home and are never confined or restrained in any way shape or form. I am vetted and background checked unfortunately owners are not so please understand. Also at time of drop offs and picks they will all be done outside. DROP Off and P/U times are somewhat flexible as I have teenagers to drop off at school and athletics. If your flight leaves in the am drop offs are the night before as to not stress the entire family with trying to get out the door. If your flight is afternoon again drop offs are between 5am-7am. IF your flight is early morning I require drop off the night before. Often it’s too stressful on the family and pup for rush drop offs. Accurate TIMES that are entered is critical. If you enter for instance 5am-7am and that is fine but if your flight is leaving at 7:45am please please correspond with me the day before in an accurate time as I know airlines love to change times on their customers. 😂. I base my day and my families day around what you enter. Also sometimes I may have to ask for an accommodation from you on my end if one of my teens has an appt. I am a widow trying to raise my three teens on my own. So please understand. I try my best to accommodate if you get a late start because you are getting ready and fall behind but please also understand I have my families commitments also and it might end in me not being able to take the reservation last minute. Communication is much needed on both of our ends. Emergencies happen. Illness, hospitalization and flights totally get it and I’ve often waived extra days for pup owners. I’ve actually had people who dog sit also who decide when they will drop off or arrive at their convenience even though we had agreed on a time in the messages. I ask for mutual understanding and respect of both of our timelines. If you enter a time frame of 1-8 pm it needs to be revised to a more accurate time. I have specific times in the am and pm for drop off. Again I do not do pick ups or drop offs. Pups need to be brought to me. Many pup owners are anxious and are first time Rover. Drop offs would be like a child always best to let me bring pup in alone. Long good byes simply aren’t good for your pup as you linger. Please no peanut butter cbd as my teenagers have peanut allergies. I can provide pictures of house. I am pretty flexible and can attend to your pets needs. I am able to take in pet families with more than one. I have the space to place pups on separate floors. There are times when drop offs and picks ups overlap with other pups. It is inevitable that this will happen. I am constantly busy. Circumstances do come up and some pet owners need emergency help so at times more then one pup might be in home. Flights get canceled etc. and I wouldn’t toss any pup out. Rest assured I won’t ever expose your pup when cross over times happen. So please understand as your flight might get canceled or traffic is horrible. Some things are out of ones control. I am a widowed mom and some things pop up and some flexibility is needed on my end from time to time. Please be sure to leave or update times of drop off and pickup as your travel approaches. I plan according to your times on any other commitments. If your dog requires brushing I will charge for grooming. I do not groom unless it’s been booked. Also please review my 7 day cancellation. It is also crucial that your spouse/partner has access to the pet reservation should your phone break/get lost. Provide emergency contacts and vet. Please consider me for your pets needs. Thank you for your consideration. Have a great day. Also please no peanut products my teenagers are allergic. I also don’t do pick ups or drops offs unless u are local DG. Also as for senior pups, this is crucial as many senior pups who are experiencing anxiety will often have loose stool and experience anxiety on a a different level since some are experiencing doggie dementia and do not understand being with another family. A senior pups stay no matter how much we love them and care for them can experience a difficult stay. If your senior pups have difficulty walking and have doggie dementia a long stay sometimes can be hard on them. Doggie anxiety meds are needed. My routine begins at 5am. Outside time begins along with feedings. Lots of yard time during the day. Simple routine with lots time for fur babies. I’ve been taking care of fur babies for over 12 years and have no problem fitting a fur baby into a routine. I do prefer early am drop offs. Between the hours of 6am-8:30(at the latest or after 4:30/5pm. I do keep to a time schedule and I often have other commitments planned around when you give a time for drop off or pick up so it’s important to keep this in mind. I also have three teenage mini adults. So there are times or things that can come up such as dr appts I may need to bring them to. In general pics and updates are in the am and late afternoon/pm. I do not allow anyone in my home for meet n greets or drop offs/pick ups. As I am vetted pup owners are not and I unfortunately have had some unfortunate experiences. So please understand I am a widow raising three kids on my own and safety is my utmost priority. I do run kids to and from school along with other appts. So I do ask for time forgiveness at times as I would do the same for unexpected situations on your end as well with flight cancellations and traffic delays. Pups are never ever crated unless specified from the owner. Pups are free to roam home. I typically do not drive to pick up or drop off unless u live within a 5 minute radius of my home. Also no peanut treats or peanut butter my teenagers are allergic. I take the utmost care for your fur baby! Huge fenced in yard for pups to roam, run and Play! We have lots of frisbees, tennis balls and toys! They are taken outside several times a day for lots of outside time depending on weather. They are never left alone in the fenced in yard (please be advised I live where there are a lot of animals in the area coyotes and hawks have been known to leave leftovers in the yard). I am out there with them but cannot guarantee that by the time I get to the back of the yard it’s not consumed. I cannot guarantee a tick might not attach as this is just life and it happens. Please make sure to have your pets up to date on shots and flea and tick prevention. Especially since the bigger dogs are free to roam the fenced in yard. You can feel confident that the safety and environment while here in my home will be taken. Remember to always include a paper bio as well as all important information for your pet. As I always do my best to adhere to your times of being fed sometimes feedings times are adjusted to our daily routine. Senior pups can experience depression, if they suffer from mobility and are on meds sometimes the vet is the best place for them. Please understand many pups who suffer from doggie dementia, mobility issues have a very hard time away from you and will not eat, take meds or drink water. They are best with a vet. Please always consult your vet for proper care anti anxiety meds etc if you decide to board your n someone’s home. I have seen some pups who suffer from mobility issues prior to their visit, doggie dementia have a slight decline to to confusion etc. please board your senior dog with any of these issue at your vet for the best care when doggie dementia, mobility issues and anxiety is present. senior dogs: • Stress and anxiety: Senior dogs, especially those with cognitive decline, can be more susceptible to stress and anxiety when they're suddenly removed from their familiar surroundings and placed in a new environment. I cannot say enough good about Gena. She was wonderful with my kids, kept in touch regularly and just all around great. The house was, dare I say, cleaner when I returned than when I left. My 70+@ collie mix and normally vocal cat were very chill when I walked in the door. Definitely glad to see me but very relaxed and comfortable. I couldn’t ask for a better house/pet sitter. Will definitly check with Gena for all my future overnights away.

Max was an outstanding pet sitter, and I recommend him without hesitation. I was traveling internationally for over two weeks, so it was incredibly important to find someone I could trust with both my home and my senior dog, Daisy. Max exceeded every expectation. He sent thoughtful updates and photos every day, making it easy to relax and enjoy my trip knowing Daisy was happy and well cared for. It was obvious from his messages that he genuinely enjoyed spending time with her, and it was equally clear that Daisy had become very attached to him. As a pet owner, there is nothing more reassuring than knowing your dog is not just being cared for, but truly loved. Max also took excellent care of my home. He brought in the mail, watered my indoor and outdoor plants, kept everything neat and tidy, and was always easy to communicate with. When I returned home, Daisy was happy, healthy, and clearly comfortable after spending time with him. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I will absolutely book Max again, and I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable, kind, communicative, and genuinely caring pet sitter.

The weekend of my son and daughter-in-law’s wedding, Angelina provided care to their cat as well as my three cats, staying overnight for two nights at my home. Prior to that weekend, she came over to meet the cats and myself and run through their daily care routine. Even my shy cat Brody seemed curious about her. Wedding weekend, she was great at providing updates through text and photos throughout her stay, and I appreciated her attention to cleaning up their litter boxes and feeding mats one more time before she left. She has a gift for working with animals and is trustworthy and easy to communicate with. I will definitely use her again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred La Grange walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in La Grange maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in La Grange choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
