“Katarina was so patient with Luna and I appreciated the whole process from the intro to the pick up!! She made me and Luna feel extremely welcomed and shared plenty of pictures. I would absolutely use her again and would recommend! 10 out of 10, no notes!”

“This was my first time ever booking a dog sitter and I was very nervous. But Judith made me feel comfortable and at ease . Shes such a wonderful caring person she even trimmed out puppy nails while she was dog sitting . I will definitely book again”

“Jenny is a fantastic dog sitter! We were a bit nervous to leave our 6 month old puppy when we went out of town. But Jenny took fantastic care of her. Jenny gave her lots of love, attention, and exercise. We would definitely re-book with Jenny in the future!”

“Regan was great! She sent plenty of pics and updates. She took amazing care of both Joe Willie and LuLu Bug and I’m not sure they wanted to come home ? Will definitely bring my furbabies back to Regan next time I need an overnight or have to go out of town. ?”
About: I have had pets from dogs, cats, fish, birds, and small rodents and loved them all. I am open minded about other caged animals besides dogs but would prefer no cats as my husky dog has a high prey drive. I am a big animal lover and would love to provide a loving temporary home for your pets. I am a stay at home mom who is available for all day care. I already take care of my own pets and it fits perfectly into my life. I have a fenced yard and a husky dog who will make great company. I am also willing to travel to your home if it makes you feel more comfortable.
“Angel took such great care of our golden Rosie when she stayed with him for a week! She came back home tired and happy. Angel was great about providing us with updates and lots of pictures and videos so we could tell Rosie was having a great time with him and his resident pups. Would definitely recommend Angel!”

“Cary (and family) were great hosts for Mashed Potato. He's a pretty no fuss dog, and she matched with a similar "chill energy". We got in a Meet & Greet ahead of time (not that MP ever met a stranger or enemy, but it was a good double check), and we got photos here and there over our pretty long time away (mostly of him enjoying scratches and attention). Otherwise, it was pretty no frills and a smooth process. He came back happy and healthy.”

“Kyla took great care of Winston while we were on vacation for an extended period of time. This is the second time she has assisted while we were overseas. She has a proven record of taking care of our 17 month old, high energy Schnauzer and providing frequent updates. We will continue to ask for her assistance in the future.”

“Cheryl was courteous, honest, understanding and easy person to deal with. She took good care of our dog, provided updates and pics and we would go back to Cheryl for any of our future boarding needs.”
“Jan is so loving and attentive. I’m going to book her a third time. She does more than most and goes above and beyond with your little fur baby. She loves animals and it shows. You never have to worry about your fur baby when they are in her care.”

“Winnie loved her time at Pete's! He has a great fenced-in backyard for dogs to play and spend time outside. Can tell he's very attentive and gives great updates on the dogs' stay at his place.”

“Teddy stayed with Phyllis and Greg for a little over one week this time and I was confident he was in good hands. They provided daily updates and spoiled Teddy as if he was their own dog. Teddy just loves them.”

“Linda and her family took care of our two senior dogs for over a week. She communicated how they were doing often - including lots of photos! She had no problems with all their meds - and they have quite a few! We highly recommend her!”
About: I have had the privilege of loving and caring for dog(s) since I was 5 years old. I have raised dogs since they were 6 week old puppies until their final days. I am organized with medication distribution if needed and can follow any cute quirks your baby may need to have that extra attention to detail for them to feel safe and loved. I work full time Monday to Friday from 8 am-4:30 pm. I am available evening hours during the work week and all day on weekends! I have a 3 year old Shetland Sheepdog named Bowie. His brother, Milo, passed away last year, who was my baby since he was 6 weeks old. I would love to take your dog for walks, feed, play, and spend time with your companion. I believe in positive reinforcement for teaching dogs tricks and behavior training.
“Luna tends to be scared of new people but she seemed to have such a good time! Happy with the care she received and was glad to have picture and video updates daily!”

“Emily was very responsive and kept me up to date on how things were going with lots of pics/videos. It’s our second time booking and feel very confident our dog feels comfortable/safe with her!”

“We had to leave our 4 yr old golden doodle boy with Matthew & Michelle for a week. This was his very first time without our company since he was brought home from the breeder 4 years ago. We were pretty worried if he could adjust himself to an absolutely new environment. But we were relieved with the care that Matthew & Michelle provided to our baby. First of all, they provided us a very flexible time to drop off and pick up, and then sent us the updates and photos every day. They allowed him to freely stay anywhere in the house just the way how he does at his own home. They walked him couple times a day, played with him in their backyard with his favorite toy, took him to the Memorial Day parade, allowed him to lay next to them while they were working, and gave him new toys to play. We could tell easily that how comfortable Simba felt staying with Matthew & Michelle! Thank you so much Matthew & Michelle for your excellent job on taking care of Simba! We are so grateful that we found you as Simba’s first sitter! Will definitely ask for your help watching Simba in the future! THANK YOU!!!”

“Manuel is the best sitter I could have found for my dog. He took such good care of my corgi Kit, and kept me updated the whole time. He looked after his sensitive paws and made sure Kit was entertained. I really appreciate the social time with other dogs that Kit got during his stay. Manuel is very responsive, attentive, kind, and reliable. Thank you so much for looking after my pup for the holidays. Will definitely book with Manuel again the next time I’m out of town.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
