“Angelina was phenomenal with my older, sweet but anxious pup. She was very gentle with him and understood the needs of an older dog well. She took her time acclimating him to his environment and the other pups. She sent many sweet pics and messages, knowing I was a little nervous about how he’d do, because he hadn’t been with a sitter for some time. Angelina is a wonderful sitter and a kind, loving soul. I was completely at ease knowing my pup was in good hands and we’ll surely he booking with her again. So happy to have found such a gem of a sitter. Thank you, Angelina!”

“Nimbus had a great time, they went on daily 2mile walks and got a lot of attention and cuddles. We were sent daily photos/videos with updates during our time away which made the separation more bearable. Would definitely plan to use Mary again!”

“I can’t recommend Izzy more highly! Professional, prompt, and kind! She sent us daily updates of our pups, had ALL the supplies making drop off so easy, and was very communicative when we needed her to be flexible! Already have our next stay booked! Thank you!!”

“She has been such an amazing dog sitter for my pup! She is incredibly sweet, clearly loves and cares for the dogs she watches, and always makes me feel at ease leaving my dog with her. She’s very easy to coordinate with for both drop-off and pick-up, which makes everything seamless and stress-free. I also really appreciate the daily updates and photos — it’s so nice knowing my pup is happy, loved, and well cared for while I’m away. Highly recommend!”

“We had a great experience with Tamara! She is very communicative, responsive, and flexible when needed. Winnie and Otis loved playing with Maggie. You can trust your pets will be in good care with Tamara!”

“Jill and Nick and their family were great. I got many updates and Niko came back healthy and happy! They have a fantastic yard and their dog Charlotte tolerated Nikos energy. We will definitely use them again!”

“This was my first time using Rover, and Justine and Brett were great! It looks like my doggo had a good time, and I felt very secure leaving him with Justine and Brett. I got photos every day, and it looked like he was having a blast. My flight home got delayed, and J&B were gracious and flexible. I’ll for sure use them again for dog care.”

“Brian was a phenomenal sitter for our pup Cheesecake who has reactivity challenges. We feel so lucky to have found him and highly recommend him! It was our first long trip since adopting her and we were so nervous and eager to find the best overnight dogsitting option for Cheesecake. Not only was he attentive to her challenges and needs, he made sure that she could thrive and have enrichment opportunities both indoors and outdoors. I appreciate Brian's attention to detail, sending updates with photos and videos, and flexibility to do 2 meet and greet before drop off. I truly cannot say enough good things about Brian and his professionalism in caring for our furry friends.”

“Emily was very responsive and kept me up to date on how things were going with lots of pics/videos. It’s our second time booking and feel very confident our dog feels comfortable/safe with her!”

“Angelica is amazing leaving our 2 fur babies is never easy, but our 8 year old Morkie had never been anywhere else besides grandmas and she did amazing job with our boy. With our Goldendoodle he had a blast! Angelica is caring and thoughtful. I would recommend to all my friends and family members. Thank you for what you do!”

“We’re so glad to have met Susseth! Our fur baby just loves her. What a great experience for our first Rover booking. Susseth has a calm demeanor and that’s perfect for our little ball of energy. For our overnight stay, Susseth provided updates and pictures during the entire stay. She asked questions to get to know our puppy before our drop off. Thank you for putting us at ease for our puppy’s first night away from home! We won’t think twice for our next booking with her 💖”

“Teddy stayed with Phyllis and Greg for a little over one week this time and I was confident he was in good hands. They provided daily updates and spoiled Teddy as if he was their own dog. Teddy just loves them.”

“Bane came back exhausted, which is a great thing! He had a big yard to run in and was very well taken care of! We received updates and all of our questions were answered. Will be doing this again!”

About: I have had pets from dogs, cats, fish, birds, and small rodents and loved them all. I am open minded about other caged animals besides dogs but would prefer no cats as my husky dog has a high prey drive. I am a big animal lover and would love to provide a loving temporary home for your pets. I am a stay at home mom who is available for all day care. I already take care of my own pets and it fits perfectly into my life. I have a fenced yard and a husky dog who will make great company. I am also willing to travel to your home if it makes you feel more comfortable.
“WOW I cannot say enough about Danielle. I have a skittish greyhound who has terrible separation anxiety and wasn’t sure how she would handle being away from us for a few days. Immediately upon meeting Danielle I felt welcomed into her home and it was obvious immediately how much she loves dogs. She assured me that she would even sleep with our dog on the couch at night to make sure she wasn’t too anxious. That’s top quality care to me! Danielle really understands dogs and their various needs, and provided the warmth, love, and care my girl needed to feel safe away from her family. Danielle even sent pictures and a video which was reassuring to make sure she was doing well. We have found a trusted sitter and can’t wait to use Danielle again for our next trip.”

“Christina took care of our 5 month old puppy, Mocha, and gave us the best updates while we were out of town :) We’re very grateful to have found a home where Mocha is taken care of and has another dog to play with! Definitely would recommend Christina to anyone we know.”

“Susan is responsive and easy to communicate with. She took great care of our pup and sent many updates, photos, and videos throughout her stay. Susan has a nice fenced in yard, lots of toys for the pups, and a sweet and caring personality. Highly recommend!”

SUPERB! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! 5 STARS 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟 This was our first time boarding our two dachshunds and we could not be happier with the results. Michelle and family were SO LOVING and wonderful with them; they even had a little party for their 2 year old birthdays! 🎂 We were updated daily with pics of love and cuddles, and our dogs seemed very relaxed and happy! The transition from Michelle’s home back to ours was seamless, which means they were well cared for and loved for throughout their stay. Michelle and family have become part of our family and we have already booked another stay with them. Highly recommended!!!!!
Holly and her family immediately welcomed Lincoln into their home and made sure he felt comfortable during his stay. Holly sent us lots of updates and made sure we knew how our boy was doing. Would highly recommend and Lincoln hopes he can visit again. He especially loved his playtime with Holly’s pups Layla and Piper☺️

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
