“Adriana was great! I left my pup for the first time ever for several days with her. She was so great in keeping me updated on his well being and he even got to make new friends! She’s also very accommodating. I definitely plan on having my pup stay with her when needed.”

“Lynda is the best! She cared for our Muffin like family and was super communicative and flexible around our schedule (especially when our plans changed and flight home was cancelled). So glad we found her and would recommend her highly to anyone looking for a helping hand with their pooch. Thank you, Lynda!!!”

“Amazing! Highly recommend Connie. She sent me pictures of Bruno and also has a amazing fenced backyard. Her dog was also adorable and got along with Bruno really well.”

“Baily did an outstanding job taking care of our little Greta (6 years old pug/boston terrier mix rescue). She kept us updated on Greta's stay with her and it was obvious from the updates and accompanying photos that Greta was feeling right at home and being showered with affection by Baily.”

“Heather ended up taking care of Dempsey an extra day after our flight back to Chicago was cancelled. She was quick to respond and helped make a stressful situation a little easier to manage. She took great care of Demps while we were out of town. Thank you!!”

“Lisa and her family was amazing! They treated my dog with a lot of love, and he definitely loves to spend time with them! Their kids are really lovely and played with with my dog too!”

“So grateful for Tamara and her pups! It’s a fun vacation for Wiggles every time she stays with them. Wiggles, unfortunately, wore a cone and itchy paws when we dropped her off and Tamara was so helpful making sure she had her medicine 2x a day and topical on Wiggles. When we returned, Wiggles was feeling so much better! 💖”

About: Hi, I'm John, I'm a lifelong dog lover and have had the pleasure of having had large dogs as well as small dogs like my 13 year old Chihuahua Beans. I live in a single family home with a fenced in backyard perfect for games of fetch or outdoor exercise and have a nice nearby park where we like to walk. I have a smaller home so prefer to care for smaller dogs under 40 pounds and watch one dog at a time or 2 from the same owner. For walks or pet/sitting house sitting I can accomodate any size dogs. Dogs have full range of the house including couch and beds. I do work out of the home so dogs are home alone typically from 8am to 12 for lunch and then from 1pm to 4pm though my partner is often home during the day. This also means drop offs and pickups typically work best after 4:30PM I'm familiar and comfortable with dogs big and small as well as dogs with health issues, my Bulldog had the typical allergies and health problems associated with bulldogs and my Beans has a collapsing trachea so comfortable and experienced with dogs with challenges. Look forward to meeting you and your pup. I love hanging with my dog, bring him everywhere I go whenever possible, love having him be part of my day. Like being active, taking my dog to the park or the beach or just playing in the backyard. I do work out of the home but come home for lunch and walks so a typical weekday I'm out of the house at 8am, back home for lunch at 12 and then back to work until 4 but dogs get taken out and walked every 4 hours. My partner is often home during the day during the workweek as well. I have a smaller home so prefer to care for dogs under 40 pounds in my home, though any size dog is fine for walks or staying by you. Because of this I only watch one dog at a time or two dogs from the same owner, again I can accommodate any number of dogs for walks or staying by you. Dogs have the run of the house including couches and beds if they choose.
“Janeth is wonderful! She took such great care of our little one like she was her own. Communication was great all throughout the week and we enjoyed getting regular updates on all the fun she was having! Will definitely rebook with Janeth - highly recommend!”

“Quandra is the best! I sometimes worry about Filo because he can be anxious and has a specific diet for his reflux but Quandra followed all instructions for a smooth stay and he genuinely was happy to be there. Thank you so much Quandra! Will definitely be having Filo stay with her again!”

“Fanny was fantastic! She accepted a last-minute request, saving me from missing work. She's incredibly friendly, highly responsive, and sent great photos of my two cats. Will absolutely rebook her for future boarding!”

“Ivy had the best time with Mary! She felt right home with the dog toys she has already there, the walks, and getting to look out the window. Mary was communicative and prompt and we will keep Mary on our short list for the future when we need a dog sitter!”

“Sarah was an absolute lifesaver! We reached out last-minute, just a day before needing a sitter for our dog, Bernie, and she was incredibly responsive and accommodating. Not only did she welcome Bernie for the night, but when we decided to extend our trip, she happily kept him for an extra night. Throughout his stay, she sent regular updates, photos, and videos, which gave us so much peace of mind. It was clear Bernie was well cared for and having a great time. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience—highly recommend Sarah to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter!”

“This is our second time with Melissa and once again she did a fantastic job. We love how many videos and pictures we get of Pancake! We can tell Pancake loves going there and playing with her dogs and other new friends. Plus Melissa’s family entertains and plays with the dogs too, which is an added bonus- extra attention! Highly recommend!”

“Danielle was excellent! She was incredibly professional and did a wonderful job of communicating with us when we reached out and even when we didn't! We felt she truly had Otis's best interest at heart and we had no concerns or worries while he was in her care. We would highly recommend her!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Westmont
Normally I would leave my pups with family members but none were available so I went with Maureen. I made the right choice. Maureen came to meet my two older girls so we could discuss all concerns, including some recent medical needs. When I dropped them off Maureen made them feel comfortable and they settled in nicely. If the need arrives in the future I won’t hesitate to use her again.
Michaela was great with Kylo. We appreciated having a meet and greet as we had never boarded him before and were not sure how he would do. She was great with him and he was able to settle in after the first full day. She was understanding of our nervousness and kept us updated on how he was doing. Definitely recommend her and will use her again if we have the need.
Denise is an excellent pup caregiver! She is knowledgeable about dog care and did execptionally well with our puppymill rescue Maggie who is usually very timid and shy. Maggie took to Denise right away and was kissing her hand and going to her for pets and ear rubs during our meet and greet. Maggie's tale was wagging in the update photos sent and she ate and took her meds without any issues. I highly recommend Denise and will definitely use her again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
