About: I have spent my life caring for others—as a registered nurse, mom, and lifelong animal lover. My nursing background has taught me patience, attention to detail, and how to provide calm, compassionate care, which I bring to every pet I meet. I understand that every dog has their own personality, routine, and comfort level. Whether your pup needs long walks, playtime, extra cuddles, medication reminders, or just a calm and reassuring presence while you’re away, I will care for them like part of my own family. I have owned dogs for 30 years...chihuahuas, terriers, a beagle, lab and Aussie mixes. I’m especially comfortable with pets who need a little extra attention, including puppies learning routines, shy or anxious dogs who need patience, and senior pets who may require gentler care. My goal is always to make your dog feel safe, loved, and happy—and give you peace of mind knowing they’re in caring hands. As a school nurse, I have a flexible summer schedule that allows me to spend lots of time at home providing attentive, personalized care. I’m available for walks, playtime, cuddles, and keeping your dog’s normal routine as consistent as possible while you’re away. Safety, trust, and comfort are always my top priorities. As a registered nurse, I understand the importance of being attentive and dependable. In my home, pets are treated like part of the family with a calm, loving environment, plenty of attention, supervised play, walks, and time to relax. I make sure dogs have a safe space to feel comfortable and follow their usual routines as closely as possible.
“Susan, David and their son,Jack, were conscientious caregivers for our dog. They asked questions to make sure they understood her needs and preferences. We received updates with pictures of her walks and outside play. We would highly recommend their service.”

“I can’t say enough amazing things about Mike and Joanna! This was my first time ever booking on Rover, and I’ll be honest — I was nervous. They didn’t have many reviews yet, no star rating, and their overnight rate seemed almost too good to be true. I hesitated… but I am SO glad I took the chance. They are truly a diamond in the rough. From the very beginning, they were incredibly responsive. Every time I reached out to check on my dog, Whiskey, they replied immediately and kept me completely at ease. They sent the cutest Valentine’s Day photos during her stay, which absolutely made my day. You can tell they genuinely care. The sweetest surprise? They sent Whiskey home wearing a custom bandana with her name on it. That level of thoughtfulness and attention to detail says everything. If you’re on the fence because of their profile, don’t be. Sometimes the best sitters just haven’t built up their reviews yet. Mike and Joanna are hands down the BEST, and I will 100% be booking with them again.”

“Melissa was absolutely FANTASTIC with our Mr. Lap. Every day she sent pics of how he was doing and the excellent care he was getting at her place. Highly recommend and will definitely be calling again next time we're out of town!”

“Baily did an outstanding job taking care of our little Greta (6 years old pug/boston terrier mix rescue). She kept us updated on Greta's stay with her and it was obvious from the updates and accompanying photos that Greta was feeling right at home and being showered with affection by Baily.”

“I highly recommend Kim. From the meet and greet, we knew Leila, our 12 year old Havanese, will be happy and safe. Kim and her kids are pet lovers. The moment we parked our car, and as soon as her kids saw Leila, they hugged and played with her, so adorable. Kim would send photos every few hours, which I appreciate. Kim lives in a safe and quiet community in Darien, she also has a decent size backyard where Leila can play. Kim also texts me for any updates. Leila loves the attention! Thanks Kim :)”

“Everything about the experience was so smooth and easy. Can’t say enough about Robert’s communication. We got many updates throughout the week that we were gone with lots of pictures. The backyard has lots of room for the dogs to run. A+ experience!”

“Angelica took great care of my dog Daisy. I received constant update pictures and video clips of Daisy. I would definitely recommend her boarding services. Great job!!!”

“Mary was amazing with Zuko! She was very responsive to our messages and always kept us posted. She also had extra dog toys for our pooch to play with. Highly recommend her :)”

“Izzy is the best! Sometimes we’ve had to book overnight boarding last minute, but she has always been available for us which helps us so much. She’s so kind and truly loves our fur baby Pippen. When we drive up, our normally nervous pup gets so excited. We feel so lucky to have met her!”

“Heather ended up taking care of Dempsey an extra day after our flight back to Chicago was cancelled. She was quick to respond and helped make a stressful situation a little easier to manage. She took great care of Demps while we were out of town. Thank you!!”

“Adriana was great! I left my pup for the first time ever for several days with her. She was so great in keeping me updated on his well being and he even got to make new friends! She’s also very accommodating. I definitely plan on having my pup stay with her when needed.”

“Sarah was great with our dog Pandora. She responded quickly to our request (which was last minute) and scheduled a quick meet and greet, which was very nice. Pandora took to her right away, and looks like she enjoyed her time there. Sarah sent updates a couple times a day along with pictures, which was wonderful. Overall a great experience!”

“Traci was so accommodating for our pup and he loved his stay! She sent us so many pictures and videos that we were never left wondering what he was up to. We will definitely be reaching out to Traci for any future pupsitting needs :)”

“First timer to book through Rover and it was a smashing success! Juliet seemed well cared for and entertained while her family left her for a long weekend. I would definitely book with John again. I think that Juliet got to hang with another dog put her at ease in a new home. And loved that we received periodic photos of her enjoying her vacation. Thank you!”

“So, I know she was awesome because I was waiting for my puppies/babies to be super excited and uncontrollable when they saw me and NOPE they were cool calm and collected because they really liked Jan. They felt at home with her and not sure what she did, but they are definitely more chill. I will only use Jan going forward if she'll have us because she's also reasonable price wise.”

“Amanda and her family were wonderful with my dog, Scout. Amanda was very communicative and responsive when planning Scouts stay. While we were away she sent lots of texts and it was clear that her family loves having dogs in their home. I loved knowing Scout was very cared for and loved on while we were gone.”

Michaela was great with Kylo. We appreciated having a meet and greet as we had never boarded him before and were not sure how he would do. She was great with him and he was able to settle in after the first full day. She was understanding of our nervousness and kept us updated on how he was doing. Definitely recommend her and will use her again if we have the need.
My dog is scared of just about everything - and everyone - so leaving her with someone new made me nervous. On top of being scared of her shadow, she's a one-year-old pup... she has some endless energy! I felt at ease as I received updates and pictures throughout the stay and felt like my pup was in good hands. During a tornado warning, Melissa went above and beyond. My dog is terrified of stairs, and her family actually carried her down the stairs to the basement to keep her safe with them. Most importantly, my dog came home happy. I'm grateful for the care, patience, and kindness Melissa (and family) showed my girl. I would book with her again :-)

Belle was an absolutely wonderful dog sitter, and I couldn't be happier with the care she provided. From the moment we met, it was clear that she genuinely loves animals and takes her responsibilities seriously. She was reliable, communicative, and attentive to every detail of my dog's routine. While I was away, Belle kept me updated with messages and photos, which gave me complete peace of mind. My dog was happy, comfortable, and clearly well cared for the entire time. Belle went above and beyond to make sure my pet received plenty of attention, exercise, and affection. It's not easy to find someone you can fully trust with a beloved pet, but Belle exceeded all expectations. I returned home to a relaxed, happy dog and felt confident that my pet had been in the best possible hands. I would wholeheartedly recommend Belle to anyone looking for a caring, dependable, and professional dog sitter.

Phyllis was an amazing sitter for Coffee! She did a great job keeping me updated with regular status updates and photos, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. It was clear that she genuinely cared for Coffee and made sure he was comfortable and happy. Coffee had such a great time staying with her, and I could tell he was very well taken care of. I would absolutely book with Phyllis again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter on Rover!

Our 9-year-old corgi had a blast with Frances and Happy over a 2-week stay at their home! Frances was great with daily photos and videos as well as general communication about our pup. And our corgi absolutely loved the social interaction and play she got with Happy—it was definitely a vacation for her as well. Thanks again to Frances, Happy, and their family for taking such good care of our corgi!

I would highly recommend Danielle to take care of your pet. I was very nervous about boarding my dog, since I have never boarded a pet before. She was very accommodating to all of my dog’s specific needs. She also had a spacious home and a big beautiful backyard for my dog to enjoy. I believe she even spoiled my dog by letting my dog make herself at home on Daniel’s couch to sleep at night. Which I really appreciated Danielle is also great about sending pictures and lengthy updates. I would definitely board my dog with Danielle again as needed. I was able to enjoy my two week vacation, because I knew that my dog instantly liked Danielle and her home at our initial Meet and Greet. Like I said before, she is not only a nice person, but met all of my dog’s needs. Looking forward to boarding my dog again with Danielle in the future.

Zoe had great time with amazing family. I am so happy I was able to connect and find them through Rover. I was updated daily how Zoe was doing and also received pictures. We felt very comfortable to leave Zoe because we knew she will be well taken care of and loved. For future travels we will definitely reach out to them again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
