Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I grew up with big dogs, so I’m very comfortable with large breeds, energetic personalities, and dogs that need structure, exercise, and attention. Back home, I regularly dog-sat for family, friends, and neighbors, and I genuinely love getting to know each pet’s unique quirks and routines. I’ve also lived with cats, so I understand their personalities too — from playful and social to independent and observant. I worked as a veterinary assistant for two years, which gave me valuable hands-on experience with animal handling, administering medications, and recognizing when something might be off. I currently volunteer at the Bloomington Animal Shelter and have experience as a wildlife rehabilitator, both of which have made me especially patient, attentive, and calm in all kinds of situations. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, cuddles, or just a steady, reassuring presence, I’m happy to provide safe, reliable, and loving care!

Elena had good communication, a clean environment, and friendly disposition. It was my first time leaving my pets. They’re very small and young so I was nervous. Upon arrival, I felt comfortable to leave them in her care. When I picked them up after they stayed for two nights, they seemed happy and healthy just as I’d left them :)

Elena has taken care of our dogs often. Walked them, fed them, groomed them. We have a 50 lb rescue and 125lb. Mastiff mix, who is a handful. She is loving and confident when it comes to taking care of dogs. She loves all animals and would be a great addition to your team. Trustworthy and caring too.

I currently do not have any pets in my home, which allows me to provide a calm, low-stress environment and give your pet my full attention. My home is clean, pet-friendly, and safe, with plenty of space for a crate if needed, as well as room for pets to comfortably explore and relax. I also have convenient access to multiple dog parks and safe walking areas, making it easy to provide exercise, enrichment, and outdoor time. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I’m respectful of routines, instructions, and household preferences. I aim to keep pets comfortable by maintaining their normal schedule, whether that involves walks, feeding, playtime, medications, or simply providing companionship. My priority is always creating a safe, secure, and stress-free experience for both pets and owners.
A typical day
I focus on keeping pets active, mentally engaged, and comfortable during the time I’m with them. Activities are always tailored to the pet’s energy level, personality, and preferences; however, I have included some of my favorites below: - Walks at the pet’s preferred pace - Nature walks and light hikes (when appropriate) - Play sessions such as fetch or tug - Indoor enrichment games - Puzzle toys and treat-dispensing toys - Scent games and hide-and-seek - Basic training reinforcement - Calm companionship and relaxation time
