“Angel was great. We spent about 11 days in Europe and she took great care of Mayla. Mayla has separation anxiety so we were happy to find a sitter who has dogs at home and regularly sits other doggies. We 100% recommend Angel.”

“Sarah took excellent care of our dog. We found her to be very dependable and willing to keep our pet on their normal schedule. We believe that Sarah was very patient and caring with our little one because since our pet has returned home there is no sign of stress at all. After just 15 minutes of being home she is perfectly adjusted back to the daily routine. We feel so relieved to have found Sarah and won't feel guilty going on vacation the next time around!”

“My original dog sitter notified me she was sick with Covid the day I was supposed to drop my dog off. I was in a bind to try to find someone. Frances was wonderful and so responsive during the entire booking process, seamless drop off/pickup and sent me updates throughout the stay. I will be booking again for a future trip and highly recommend her!”
“Izzy is the best! Sometimes we’ve had to book overnight boarding last minute, but she has always been available for us which helps us so much. She’s so kind and truly loves our fur baby Pippen. When we drive up, our normally nervous pup gets so excited. We feel so lucky to have met her!”

“Bailey is a caring, knowledgeable and experienced pet owner and caretaker. Freddy was well-cared for and I was sent several photos during the day to let me know how he was doing. Bailey was sensitive in incorporating Freddy into her pack of two dogs. I felt very comfortable and confident that Freddy was well cared for. Thank you!”

“Kent was absolutely wonderful with my dog, Chloe. Chloe is a difficult case because she can’t be alone because of her separation anxiety she can’t be with other dogs because of her reactivity. This makes her somewhat high maintenance. Kent was able to handle and he loved taking care of her! I’ll be back to ask Kent again to take of Chloe for the upcoming holidays. Kent is very communicative and and just an overall sweet, wonderful, caring and competent person.”

“We boarded our two little girls with Lisa and her dog loving family. They have a lovely home with a large fenced backyard and they also walked our dogs which was a great treat. We could tell the girls were well taken of from the happy look on their faces from the photos Lisa sent. An owner knows when their dogs are pleased and delighted. We were so glad we found Lisa on Rover, you will be too.”
“Tamara had great communication and made me feel at ease since it was my first time using this service. My dog loved her stay, and came home tired and happy! Will definitely book again when I need it. Thank you!”

“Heather ended up taking care of Dempsey an extra day after our flight back to Chicago was cancelled. She was quick to respond and helped make a stressful situation a little easier to manage. She took great care of Demps while we were out of town. Thank you!!”

About: I've been around dogs ever since I was born. I treat my dog like my child and I would do the same for yours as well. I love animals! I also have a finch, 6 chickens, and 6 ducks. As my pooch is getting older I am now learning about all stages of life and how to care for that. I am willing to run, speed walk and take brisk walks or play fetch in a fenced in yard with your dog. I also have some knowledge of providing CPR and choking emergencies. I have a family member on hand that has been a vet tech for years and is currently continuing her education in that field. She is always sharing her knowledge with me.
“Kandyce was great with our dog and with us! She kept in touch and was responsive, while also being patient with our dog's idiosyncrasies. The dog loved playing with Kandyce's dogs, too. Highly recommend!”

“Ashley was fantastic with my girl, Zowie! She was loved and cared for while we were on vacation. Ashley also kept us updated on how she was doing, sending regular photos of Zowie’s fun! We will definitely request her service again!”
“Our boy with separation anxiety came back from Kayla’s in much better shape than when he is boarded(not that they do anything wrong). Kayla responds quickly to any questions we have, and always keeps us updated with pictures! We would definitely be happy to send our guy to Kayla again.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Hinsdale
Elizabeth took wonderful care of our 10-year-old dog for an entire week, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Our dog was dealing with a UTI during her stay, which meant she needed frequent trips outside, medicine twice a day - but Elizabeth was incredibly patient, attentive, and accommodating to her needs. It was clear that our dog felt happy, safe, and comfortable in Elizabeth’s home. She received plenty of walks, lots of toys to keep her entertained, and, most importantly, so many snuggles and loving attention. It gave us such peace of mind knowing she was being cared for as if she were part of the family. I highly recommend Elizabeth to anyone looking for a compassionate, reliable, and trustworthy pet sitter. We are so grateful for the exceptional care she provided and will absolutely be using her again in the future to take care of our precious pup.

My dog is scared of just about everything - and everyone - so leaving her with someone new made me nervous. On top of being scared of her shadow, she's a one-year-old pup... she has some endless energy! I felt at ease as I received updates and pictures throughout the stay and felt like my pup was in good hands. During a tornado warning, Melissa went above and beyond. My dog is terrified of stairs, and her family actually carried her down the stairs to the basement to keep her safe with them. Most importantly, my dog came home happy. I'm grateful for the care, patience, and kindness Melissa (and family) showed my girl. I would book with her again :-)

Phyllis was an amazing sitter for Coffee! She did a great job keeping me updated with regular status updates and photos, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. It was clear that she genuinely cared for Coffee and made sure he was comfortable and happy. Coffee had such a great time staying with her, and I could tell he was very well taken care of. I would absolutely book with Phyllis again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter on Rover!

Holly and her family immediately welcomed Lincoln into their home and made sure he felt comfortable during his stay. Holly sent us lots of updates and made sure we knew how our boy was doing. Would highly recommend and Lincoln hopes he can visit again. He especially loved his playtime with Holly’s pups Layla and Piper☺️

Our 9-year-old corgi had a blast with Frances and Happy over a 2-week stay at their home! Frances was great with daily photos and videos as well as general communication about our pup. And our corgi absolutely loved the social interaction and play she got with Happy—it was definitely a vacation for her as well. Thanks again to Frances, Happy, and their family for taking such good care of our corgi!

I would highly recommend Danielle to take care of your pet. I was very nervous about boarding my dog, since I have never boarded a pet before. She was very accommodating to all of my dog’s specific needs. She also had a spacious home and a big beautiful backyard for my dog to enjoy. I believe she even spoiled my dog by letting my dog make herself at home on Daniel’s couch to sleep at night. Which I really appreciated Danielle is also great about sending pictures and lengthy updates. I would definitely board my dog with Danielle again as needed. I was able to enjoy my two week vacation, because I knew that my dog instantly liked Danielle and her home at our initial Meet and Greet. Like I said before, she is not only a nice person, but met all of my dog’s needs. Looking forward to boarding my dog again with Danielle in the future.

Zoe had great time with amazing family. I am so happy I was able to connect and find them through Rover. I was updated daily how Zoe was doing and also received pictures. We felt very comfortable to leave Zoe because we knew she will be well taken care of and loved. For future travels we will definitely reach out to them again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
