“Angelina was phenomenal with my older, sweet but anxious pup. She was very gentle with him and understood the needs of an older dog well. She took her time acclimating him to his environment and the other pups. She sent many sweet pics and messages, knowing I was a little nervous about how he’d do, because he hadn’t been with a sitter for some time. Angelina is a wonderful sitter and a kind, loving soul. I was completely at ease knowing my pup was in good hands and we’ll surely he booking with her again. So happy to have found such a gem of a sitter. Thank you, Angelina!”

Katie is very sweet and caring with our dog, gives her a ton of activities and exercise, and sends lots of updates and pictures. Katie is also a pleasure to work with, as she is very communicative and accommodating. Also, Katie’s canine partner is a very sweet and playful and our dog loved playing with Katie’s dog. Thank you so much!”

“La Toya is wonderful! She has taken care of my pup twice already and we have her booked for a third stay as well. We love that she has dogs already which helped set our pup at ease and provided good play for him. He comes home happy, tired, and well fed. La Toya is professional and kind in handling your pets needs and we certainly recommend her!”

“Our dog Paganini enjoyed his stayed with Stephanie ? we left him for 7-8 days in the Xmas holidays because my husband and I we were going back to Spain to visit family. When we pick him up, he seem SO SO SO HAPPY! Usually, when we leave him in other dog boarding, he don’t want to eat, he can’t not bark, came home sick and he seems pretty sad. Paganini is a dog with lots lots of energy, that need to run and play 24/7 and with Stephanie he was able to run and play in the big backyard that they have, perfect for dogs! We will leave Paganini with them again ❤️ You can totally see that they care for dogs, they give him lot of love and play time! (Paganini I’m shire he is missing that backyard and the 24/7 attention with playtime) Also they send us photos and I the communication with then during our holidays, was great ?Paganini was so happy and pretty chill when we pick him from Stephanie’s house ? Thank you so so much guys!”

“Chloe was so well taken care of and loved!! Normally we get really anxious leaving her for long periods of time, but we completed trusted Lech and weren’t worried at all! We will definitely use them again!”

Heather and Israel were great - always responsive, let us know how things were going and our pup was adapting while we were gone for the weekend. Our flight was cancelled and they were so kind to watch our pup an extra night and be flexible with the pickup time. Our pup had so much fun and we will definitely use them again!

Holly and her family immediately welcomed Lincoln into their home and made sure he felt comfortable during his stay. Holly sent us lots of updates and made sure we knew how our boy was doing. Would highly recommend and Lincoln hopes he can visit again. He especially loved his playtime with Holly’s pups Layla and Piper☺️

Sandra was absolutely wonderful in taking care of Ellie! From our initial meeting to the final pickup, everything was seamless and stress-free. She kept us updated regularly with pictures and made sure Ellie was happy and comfortable throughout. We truly appreciate her care and attention. Thank you, Sandra—We will definitely use your service again!
I would highly recommend Danielle to take care of your pet. I was very nervous about boarding my dog, since I have never boarded a pet before. She was very accommodating to all of my dog’s specific needs. She also had a spacious home and a big beautiful backyard for my dog to enjoy. I believe she even spoiled my dog by letting my dog make herself at home on Daniel’s couch to sleep at night. Which I really appreciated Danielle is also great about sending pictures and lengthy updates. I would definitely board my dog with Danielle again as needed. I was able to enjoy my two week vacation, because I knew that my dog instantly liked Danielle and her home at our initial Meet and Greet. Like I said before, she is not only a nice person, but met all of my dog’s needs. Looking forward to boarding my dog again with Danielle in the future.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
