“Cary is fantastic! I know my dogs are well cared for at her house. She sends great pictures and when we arrived, my dogs were super happy to be there, so that says a lot! Thank you Cary!”

“Best dog sitter Rylee (my dog) and I have ever had. It’s her home away from home. She comes home happy, healthy, and super sleepy from all the play. We are so lucky to have found this beautiful family. Thank you!!!!”

“Pebbles really enjoyed her stay with Sarah! Sarah was great at communicating and kept us updated with pics while we were away. Highly recommend and will be using Sarah again for our pup!”

“Heather ended up taking care of Dempsey an extra day after our flight back to Chicago was cancelled. She was quick to respond and helped make a stressful situation a little easier to manage. She took great care of Demps while we were out of town. Thank you!!”

“Janeth is wonderful! She took such great care of our little one like she was her own. Communication was great all throughout the week and we enjoyed getting regular updates on all the fun she was having! Will definitely rebook with Janeth - highly recommend!”

“This was my first time using Rover and I couldn’t be more please. Janet was professional and caring for my dog, Cash and treated him like her own. He was very treated very well. Thank you!”

“Lorraine was amazing with my pup-achinos. I have two dogs, one is a surrender and one is a rescue. After having some bad experiences with past sitters and boarding, I was starting to settle for having the Vet Kennel them while I was away. I love my dogs and sometimes I want people to love them the way I do, and she DEFINATLEY does! Lorraine is a natural care giver and has a great calm demeanor. They took to her right away, even my rescue who is very shy and is afraid of the washing machine. Lorraine is very attentive to both of them and their separate needs, sent pictures to me the whole time I was away and I never had to ask. They always look happy and comfortable, able to hang out on her back deck which they LOVE. Outside time is their favorite!! She did walks with them, too! I felt so comfortable to have them with her, she is very responsible, flexible, and responsive! So grateful to have met her.”
“I am very thankful for Linda, her professionalism, and her genuine love of animals! Gabby had a wonderful stay and was well taken care of. We felt very content leaving her. She also took Gabby at a late notice which helped us out a ton. Thanks so much Linda! We will definitely be contacting you again.”

“This was a great experience for us and our dog. We are so happy that we found this place. Our dog was able to walk in and out to the back yard as he pleased through the dog door. He adjusted so well that he did not want to go back home. I definitely will be housing Sylvia and Olivia again and would highly recommend them to anyone who needs dog hotel.”

“Desiree was incredibly accommodating to my dog's needs and very understanding of her anxiety. Since this was Bell-A’s first time being boarded, I was naturally nervous, but Desiree took excellent care of her and made the experience as stress-free as possible. She sent daily updates and photos, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. It was clear that Bell-A was in caring and capable hands. I truly appreciate the attention, patience, and love she showed my dog, and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter.”

“Kori obviously had a great time at Jim’s. Jim is very organized and attended to my senior dog’s needs well in the quiet and relaxed environment she needs. I would feel comfortable having Kori stay with Jim again.”

“HANDS DOWN THE BEST PET SITTER!!!!!! Meghan took great care of my pup Snoop. She makes you feel very comfortable and at ease leaving your Pet. The communication and updates were spot on. I will DEFINITELY recommend Megan, and will request her in the future.”

“Jaqueline was super accommodating when my partner and I needed a last minute sitter for our high energy dog. We were worried about her being around other dogs, but she and Casper had zero issues together. Jacqueline sent us photos throughout our 10 day trip and provided updates that really made us feel okay leaving her with someone, especially since she has anxiety issues. She calmed down after only a day or so and felt very comfortable with Jacqueline. We would definitely rebook with her if we need another sitter.”

“When the car got close to Marissa’s home, Lucy couldn’t wait to get out of the car! It’s comforting to know she’s going to be safe and have fun too. Thank you Marissa!”

“Kassandra did such a good job with Ace! He enjoyed his stay so much, I think he wanted to stay longer, lol. With him only being almost 3 months, she was very patient with him and treated him like one of the family. He took a liking to her older dog Roscoe and made a new friend. We must definitely will book with Kassandra in the future!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Justice
Where do I even start?! I was freaking out about not having a babysitter soo last minute before our trip(like 3-4 days before the trip last minute) to where I messaged her a few days before, did a meet and greet a day before & then dropped off the next morning. A blessing in disguise. She's very responsive, understanding and experienced. She kept us updated the entire time with photos and communicated well. Using apps to find someone to trust with your fur babies is a little scary - for me personally I was super iffy but with the meet and great you can catch a vibe and there were no red flags going off for me. Definitely put my mind at ease. Definitely recommend and probably will be reaching out for future stays or even just day playdates because I can tell my baby misses being over there and playing. Susseth, I can not thank you enough again! You're amazing and thank you for doing what you do genuinely 💗

This is my 7 year old, Shih Tzu’s 3rd time with Sarai & she loves it over there. She’s always ready & available with a positive, welcoming attitude to Jazz & helps her feel comfortable Sarai’s communication/updates can sometime be a little off, but she eventually gets back to me in 24 hours or less. Jazz always comes back happy & healthy.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
