“Cary is fantastic! I know my dogs are well cared for at her house. She sends great pictures and when we arrived, my dogs were super happy to be there, so that says a lot! Thank you Cary!”

“Patricia is a wonderful & caring person who treats your dog like family. Not knowing what we would expect in her care for our dog Stella due to her medical issues , Patricia went above & beyond what we ever imagined. She allowed us to enjoy our vacation & not worry about our Stella while we were thousands of miles away. She is a gem!!”

“Iman was a wonderful sitter! I usually take my dog to boarding when I go on vacation but they were all booked so this was a last minute decision I was a bit skeptical of. However Iman made me feel comfortable in choosing her, she kept me updated throughout my time a part from Bentley with lots of photos and videos. She even gave us a parting gift of some fresh wet food for him. Definitely will be rebooking in the future when services are needed. I think Bentley enjoyed himself a lot because as soon as we got home he was sleep like a baby, safe to say he had lots of fun!! Thank you again❤️”

About: What sets me apart for other sitters is that I have them enjoy their walks at their own pace. In my years of experience, I have not only taken care of dogs but also cats just to name a few. Every animal is unique in their own way so being kind goes a long way. I like to have the owners as well as the dogs comfortable with me so I obtain as much information from the owners regarding their furry friends as I can. I am currently free to play, drop-in or bring your furry baby home with me. Whatever your pets needs are, I am here to help. I have a big backyard where I normally allow the dogs to run and play. But it does not have a fence in one area where the driveway begins. My home has two floors which the downstairs I use for the dogs to lay down, play or sleep. I do own a dog myself but she isn't allowed to interact with guests dogs unless previously approved by the guests parents first. I also have cameras, where I can capture video and photos to send to the pet parents.
“Michelle did an excellent job taking care of our little guy! We booked her last minute and she was so accommodating. She sent great pictures while we were away, which is always so appreciated. Would highly recommend and will definitely book again!”

“I really like Delilah’s sitter. She was nice and professional and I loved how she got her to feel comfortable with being there. Delilah has a stomach issue but the sitter sat with her and hand fed her. I would ofoved a lot more pictures but the ones she at made me feel comfortable with leaving her and knowing she was safe.”

“Shayna was excellent! We were very nervous leaving our overly anxious labradoodle for a few days and Shayna put all of those nerves to rest. She is clearly a professional. Thank you so much for everything Shayna!”

“Linda was amazing. We were nervous leaving our dog with someone other than family for the first time and she made everything stress-free. Our puppy had a blast and settled in amazing all weekend which is a testament to Linda! I highly recommend Linda for all services!”

“Bailey is a dog whisperer. She took care of our poodle mix over the holiday and was extremely communicative and sent pics and videos/ so that we knew he was in good hands. She is so sweet and has a genuine understanding and love for dogs. Highly recommend! !”

“A true life saver! We attempted to keep our dog at a pet friendly hotel while we went to a concert, but Noodle decided she was going to let the hotel guests know how much she missed us by barking. We thought for sure we'd have to listen to the concert from the parking lot or just not go all together. Kathy responded very quickly, super nice and accommodating . Thank you again!”

“Everything went according to plan. My Little Buddy seems to have enjoyed his stay. Beverly seems like a fine dog sitter I would use her services again without question,”

“Bridget was amazing with our dog, Miller. Miller has separation anxiety and can be a hit or miss with sitters, but he warmed up to Bridget and her family right away. Great communication and felt extremely comfortable. Would highly recommend to let your dog stay with her family and pup of her own who is both adorable and friendly.”

“Jim was great with Philip! He sent photos and kept me updated throughout the stay. Jim’s home is very clean and organized. He played with Philip in his backyard and even invited his dad’s dog over to keep my boy company. The two got along well! Will certainly book again! Book with Jim!”

“Sarah was great. She took very good care of my dog and cat and kept me updated with photos and recaps of their activities. She obviously loves animals and I felt my boys were very safe in her care--I recommend her highly.”

“Shirley was fabulous! She communicated with us many times a day and sent pictures regularly. Our dog was relaxed and very happy when we brought him home. Thank you Shirley!!”

“She was amazing and so sweet with our two dogs. It was their first time being away from home and we were super nervous, but she sent us photos, videos, and updates everyday while we were gone. Will definitely be using her again.”

“This is our second time boarding our old girl with Barbara and we will continue to use her in the future because she is so great!! She provided updates/pictures/videos while we were gone and her excellent care put us at ease. Couldn’t be more thankful for her!!”

“Serena watched our 6 month old puppy at her house for a week, and he had a great time! She communicated with us every day, and we felt very at ease and able to enjoy our trip without worrying. She also has a very sweet dog who kept him company during his stay.”

Lauren has taken care of my dog Kylo, three times and I couldn't be happier with her care. Lauren is an amazing dog sitter and I always feel comfortable leaving Kylo with her. Since Kylo is diabetic it is especially important that he stays on his feeding schedule and receives his insulin injections on time, and Lauren is incredibly responsible and attentive to his needs. She provides multiple updates throughout the day, including pictures, detailed messages and even Wooftrax updates so I know how long his walks are. Kylo is very comfortable with her, and she does such a wonderful job of making him feel safe and cared for. I feel incredibly lucky to have found such a trustworthy and caring dog sitter for our baby. We truly appreciate everything Lauren does for our precious pup and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for reliable, compassionate, and attentive pet sitter.

Honestly, dropping my dog off and seeing Ann has become a favorite part of vacation planning. I feel so at ease going away and knowing Enzo is taken care of and loved while also getting to spend time with Teddy and Chewy! I could write a novel about how thankful I am for Ann and her family. 10000 thank you’s just doesn’t express it enough! ❤️🐾

Olivia kept my baby Leah for the weekend while I went out of town, and I was honestly nervous because anyone who knows me knows how I feel about my baby. But Olivia was amazing. She sent tons of pictures and updates the whole time, which really helped me relax. She even gave Leah extra treats and sent her home with some too. I ended up needing to extend my trip unexpectedly, and Olivia was super understanding and flexible about it. That meant a lot to me. Leah was clearly well taken care of and loved while she was there. Olivia will forever be my baby’s home whenever I’m away. I’m so grateful I found her!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
