“First time using Rover and I will tell you that you can't go wrong with them findimg you a trusting and loving sitter for your fur babies. I picked Ann because of her great profile. Conversation and our meet and greet. She and her entire family are amazing. Their love for their own animals and our baby was outstanding. They told us about their history with their own fur babies and it showed us how much love they have in their hearts and home for all. I would pick them every time to take care of my Cara. Cara adapted immediately with their babies and with each of the family members. They updated us with pics and even a photo shoot that their daughter did. So cute and loving. Cara hugged Ann and gave her her approval immediately. When we picked her up she was with Ann's husband and they were love love as we call ot w Cara. We couldn't be more blessed to have Ann and her family be part of Cara's life. They have become part of our family as well. If you are looking for a sitter Ann is the best. The accommodations with her lovely yard and loving home you can't go wrong with. She will give you the peace of mind that your baby will be in great hands. Thank you Ann and her Family. Thank you Rover for finding great people like Ann.”

“Manuel was so good to my baby Luna!!! He agreed to a last minute booking for me during a week long vacation. He sent daily photos and updates and was very responsive to messages throughout her stay. We will DEFINITELY book with him again!”

“Teddy stayed with Phyllis and Greg for a little over one week this time and I was confident he was in good hands. They provided daily updates and spoiled Teddy as if he was their own dog. Teddy just loves them.”

“Kori obviously had a great time at Jim’s. Jim is very organized and attended to my senior dog’s needs well in the quiet and relaxed environment she needs. I would feel comfortable having Kori stay with Jim again.”

“Tanesha was wonderful! This was Midnight's first time with a sitter, so we were very worried. Tanesha sent us pictures and videos of Midnight throughout her stay. I can tell that she gave Midnight her undivided attention. We were very pleased with Tenesha, she treated Midnight if she was her own. We would definitely use Tanesha again.”
“Lauren has taken care of my dog Kylo, three times and I couldn't be happier with her care. Lauren is an amazing dog sitter and I always feel comfortable leaving Kylo with her. Since Kylo is diabetic it is especially important that he stays on his feeding schedule and receives his insulin injections on time, and Lauren is incredibly responsible and attentive to his needs. She provides multiple updates throughout the day, including pictures, detailed messages and even Wooftrax updates so I know how long his walks are. Kylo is very comfortable with her, and she does such a wonderful job of making him feel safe and cared for. I feel incredibly lucky to have found such a trustworthy and caring dog sitter for our baby. We truly appreciate everything Lauren does for our precious pup and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for reliable, compassionate, and attentive pet sitter.”

“Bridget was amazing with our dog, Miller. Miller has separation anxiety and can be a hit or miss with sitters, but he warmed up to Bridget and her family right away. Great communication and felt extremely comfortable. Would highly recommend to let your dog stay with her family and pup of her own who is both adorable and friendly.”

“Heather ended up taking care of Dempsey an extra day after our flight back to Chicago was cancelled. She was quick to respond and helped make a stressful situation a little easier to manage. She took great care of Demps while we were out of town. Thank you!!”

“Tamara had great communication and made me feel at ease since it was my first time using this service. My dog loved her stay, and came home tired and happy! Will definitely book again when I need it. Thank you!”

“I can’t say enough good things about Shayna. She watched our 2 dogs at her house for a week. One of our dogs gets very nervous around new people and can be reactive. He reacted well at our meet and greet and Shayna felt comfortable that he would do well and he did. I felt at ease seeing how well they were doing with her daily updates and pictures. She really treated them like they were her own. We will definitely be using her services again and would highly recommend her to others.”

About: I’ve been taking care of pets since I was 5 years old. I took care of dogs, cats, and birds. Pets like to be around me and feel safe. I’m currently unemployed so I have plenty of time and energy to take care of your dog anytime starting 11am all week days as you need. I have a big yard that makes your dog feel free in plenty of space to play and walk. I don’t have any dogs at home, so your dog will feel safe and enjoy peace.
About: What sets me apart for other sitters is that I have them enjoy their walks at their own pace. In my years of experience, I have not only taken care of dogs but also cats just to name a few. Every animal is unique in their own way so being kind goes a long way. I like to have the owners as well as the dogs comfortable with me so I obtain as much information from the owners regarding their furry friends as I can. I am currently free to play, drop-in or bring your furry baby home with me. Whatever your pets needs are, I am here to help. I have a big backyard where I normally allow the dogs to run and play. But it does not have a fence in one area where the driveway begins. My home has two floors which the downstairs I use for the dogs to lay down, play or sleep. I do own a dog myself but she isn't allowed to interact with guests dogs unless previously approved by the guests parents first. I also have cameras, where I can capture video and photos to send to the pet parents.
“Veronica is the best! Tucker loved being at her place! She made him so comfortable and myself as well, knowing my senior dog was in good hands. Many, many thanks to Veronica! Tucker will definitely be visiting her again.💕”

“Summer really enjoyed her stay at Linda's home. Linda was able to accept Summer on short notice. Linda and her family were patient in learning Summer's puppy behaviors/mannerisms and were able to adapt to managing those behaviors. Our family liked getting pictures/updates while we were away. I'm pretty sure Summer's favorite part was Linda's huge fenced backyard where she could run freely. It was great to be able to pick Summer up on a Sunday night when a kennel would normally be closed and having to wait until Monday. Hopefully we can use Linda again so we feel less guilty about going away and knowing Summer is enjoying the comforts of a home instead of a kennel.”

“Lynda and her husband were super kind! We ended up having to book boarding for our dog super last minute and they were very flexible and happy to take her in for the day. Lynda meet us with a notebook in hand to take notes about how to care for our dog They took her on a nice long walk and tuckered her out. And they kept her until late at night so could enjoy our day/night worry free! Highly recommend!!”

“Janet was great with our lil’ Lexi (a Havanese) and took great care of her while we were out-of-town for a few days! We’ll definitely consider leaving Lexi with Janet the next time we take a family trip! Thanks Janet for all your help!”

“Beverly was awesome, from start to finish very polite and took excellent care of Blue ? keep us updated with pictures which made my 8 year old very happy while we were away. Thank you very much. Def will be using her again.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
