“Jayme is incredibly sweet and patient with my dog, Loki. Since meeting Loki, he has been diagnosed with a progressive disorder and has significant vision loss now. Jayme is full of positivity and meets Loki where he is while also keeping me up to date. She was very flexible when I had a last minute change in my schedule and was able to come over twice on the day since I was gone for an extended time. Highly recommend and would love to work with her again!”
“Stephanie took great care of our older dog during a long weekend. We received regular updates and photos. Stephanie took great care to administer our dog's medicines and to give him love.”

About: My natural patience and lifelong love for dogs allow me to quickly build a bond of trust with any pet I watch. I’m not just there to provide snuggles and food and walks; I’m there to give them genuine companionship and ensure they feel secure and cherished in our home. I work from home and spend most days at home working. I love having a "desk buddy" and a dog walk is a great way to break up the day, Your pup will have constant supervision! I have a large yard that is fenced in. I love to take frequent walks to burn off that excess energy. I have multiple dog beds, cozy blankets, and plenty of toys!
“Sam took wonderful care of our two kitties while we were gone for two weeks. She is very kind to our cats making sure they’re fed, given lots of attention, and provides much appreciated photo updates! She even helped with some mail and changing the litter box and keeping up with vacuuming the litter. We are repeat customers of Sam I would highly recommend and trust her to care for your pets!”

“Loraine was fantastic! This was our first time using a dog walker but it was so smooth. Loraine came over to meet us and the pups before we left and I love the feature where we got pictures each time she came over for a walk.”

“My family couldn’t have asked for better care for our dog, Bella. As I’m sure we all know, leaving your dog (who is such a big part of your family) is never easy & after seeing Megan’s credentials, we were very optimistic. What we didn’t know, however, was the extent of care & updates we’d receive. While my family had an amazing time on vacation, we looked forward to Megan’s updates at the end of her visit everyday. When homesickness (& missing our dog) came in, her pictures & videos of Bella meant so much to us! Would definitely recommend!!”

I am comfortable caring for both cats and dogs, including feeding, fresh water, litter box cleaning, potty breaks, playtime, walks, and lots of affection. I treat every pet with the same love, attention, and respect I give my own. I have a flexible schedule and plenty of time to care for your pets. I am available for drop-in visits on weekdays and weekends, including mornings, afternoons, and evenings. With advance notice, I can also accommodate special schedules and multiple visits per day. I will carefully follow your pet’s usual routine and all instructions provided. During each visit, I will make sure food and water are fresh, doors and windows are secure, and your pet feels safe and comfortable. I will also send photos and updates so you always know how your pet is doing.
“Michelle is absolutely amazing and does a great job. She has been taken care of Tyson for a very long time. I feel completely comfortable with her in and out of my home when I am not there. Tyson loves her and that is the main thing. She’s respectable of your home and she’s very on-time and professional. Out of all the Rovers I’ve used Michelle is absolutely hands-down my favorite.”

About: I have been an avid animal lover as a child and have owned cats, bunnies and currently a 100 pound bernedoodle! I love taking care of animals and have experience administering medicine. I have previous dog walking experience aside from my own giant puppy. I currently live in Westmont IL with a lot of space and a quiet safe neighborhood for long walks. I work remote for 3 days out of the week so I am flexible with drop in visits and walks. My dog would love a playmate during the day as well, so if you need me to babysit at my place there's plenty of room. I have a friendly bernedoodle who loved to play and has moved with us 3 times to different states! He gets daily long walks, plays with us, and gets treats. We like to take him to explore different parks and trails in the area.
About: I’ve cared for animals since I was young, starting with my own family’s dogs and eventually helping care for pets around my neighborhood. My passion for animal care led me to earn a B.S. in Animal Science with a focus on Companion Animals from the University of Minnesota. During my time there, I held animal care positions at three different zoological institutions, including Brookfield Zoo. I’m excited for the opportunity to care for your pets and provide a safe, happy, and enriching experience, whether it’s during a walk or a home visit! I am currently working part-time so I look forward to playing with your pets! Right now I have more availability than usual and can handle several walks or check-ins during the day! I have a car and am able to drive to and from your home. I will follow all instructions when it comes to caring for your pets. You know what is best for your own furry friends. Every animal is special and some need more attentions than others. I look forward to getting to learn about your fur-baby’s quarks!
About: As someone who has always grown up around dogs, I understand that your pup is a part of the family and I take pride in taking care of your furry loved ones while you’re away! I currently have a German shepherd/Boxer mix (lives with my family) and a Rottweiler (lives with me). I have previously volunteered at a humane society and have also been employed at a dog boarding facility. I enjoy watching Dog Impossible in my free time and would love to spend time with your 4-legged family member in my free time too! I’m also an animal and nature photographer, so I’d be happy to take high quality photos while you’re away! I’m currently working full time from home (Monday-Friday) so I’d be more than happy to welcome your pup into my home and have a new coworker, taking them out as needed, or pack up my gear and work with them in the comfort of their own home! Please check out my calendar for my most updated availability ☺️ I have a friendly dog to keep your pup company and I have a fenced in yard for all of your pups squirrel chasing and potty needs! I will always be cautious and careful to any and all of your pets needs while on leash too!
“Lauren is exceptional. We were very comfortable with her watching Coco for a long weekend getaway. It was the first time our dog was home without us. She did a great job. She kept us informed and sent pictures to ease our mind. Thanks Lauren see you next time. Jimmy”

“We were so fortunate to have Lauren and her mom take care of our cats during our vacation! She was very quick in communication and sent detailed updates with plenty of pictures. They even went above and beyond in troubleshooting electrical issues with our feeders and even took care of the fish tanks. We will absolutely have them take care of our cats again! Highly recommend their services as we entrust both of them due to their skills and experiences with cats. We really felt that our cats were given amazing care and attention, especially for a young, rambunctious kitten. Our cats welcomed them right away and you could tell they were so caring and compassionate with our littles ones.”

Stephanie is absolutely wonderful!! She took such great care of our cat while we were gone for 10 days and was so good about updating us and letting us know how he was doing. She made us feel completely at ease with the whole process and with knowing that our kitty was being so well taken care of. We will certainly be using her again and cannot say enough terrific things about her!

Sam helped me out when I went out of town for 5 days and watched my two bunnies for me! She was great very friendly, had no issues and she listened to my request and sent me updates of how my bunnies were doing, she gave me reassurance and she gained my trust and would definitely be booking her again in the future!

Michelle is absolutely amazing and does a great job. She has been taken care of Tyson for a very long time. I feel completely comfortable with her in and out of my home when I am not there. Tyson loves her and that is the main thing. She’s respectable of your home and she’s very on-time and professional. Out of all the Rovers I’ve used Michelle is absolutely hands-down my favorite.

We hate to leave our Percy home when traveling, but Jayme took such great care of him. This was our first experience on Rover and I hope all caregivers are as kind and professional as Jayme! She guided us through the Rover process and, most importantly, made a real connection with our pup. Great communication and sent lots of pictures.

Ashton was exactly the person we were looking for to trust with our boys while we were away. We truly couldn't have asked for a better sitter, and we've definitely found our go-to from now on. It's obvious that she genuinely loves caring for animals, and the entire week went as smoothly as we could have hoped. We 10/10 recommend her to anyone looking for someone reliable, caring, and trustworthy.

Megan is the best! She has watched our two dogs, two cats and leopard gecko multiple times. She is super reliable, very communicative, and just a delight with the animals. My only hesitation in writing this review is that she will book up and won’t be available for our numerous last minute requests!

John is the best pet sitter we have had for Maxx. He is reliable, honest, friendly and great communicator. We could not have found a best sitter for drop in visits when we both have to go to work. He responds very promptly about inquiries and … our dog Maxx loves him already!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
