“We had a wonderful experience with Michelle! She took such great care of our Mini Aussie. Michelle was incredibly communicative throughout the day, sent plenty of photos and updates, and made us feel completely at ease. It was obvious that she is experienced, caring, and truly loves dogs. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and will absolutely be booking with Michelle again. Highly recommend!”

“Jacqueline was absolutely fantastic with our 8 month old puppy. She took care of Joy the entire week. Joy was happy and calm in her care. We would absolutely work with Jacqueline again!”

About: I have been caring for dogs since I was young, though never as an official job, mostly for family and friends. I grew up surrounded by animals, including many dogs, cats, and even farm animals. Currently, I have an older Border Collie and a Chihuahua, and they make my days so much better! I love going on daily walks with dogs and playing fetch with them in the backyard. I truly enjoy spending time with animals and making sure they feel loved, happy, and well cared for. I’m currently not working, so I spend a lot of time at home and have plenty of flexibility to care for your dog. I’m happy to adapt to your pet’s usual routine and make sure they feel comfortable and at home. Typically, the first thing I do in the morning is let the dogs outside to go potty, followed by breakfast. I also enjoy going for walks during the morning and again in the afternoon, so your dog can get plenty of exercise, fresh air, and attention throughout the day. i have a fenced yard and 2 trained dogs to keep your baby with company. I have a large crate at home, which I normally only use for my Border Collie during thunderstorms, as it helps him feel safe. However, if you feel that it would be best to separate the dogs at any point, I have the space and can safely accommodate one of them in the crate if needed.
About: I have been an avid animal lover as a child and have owned cats, bunnies and currently a 100 pound bernedoodle! I love taking care of animals and have experience administering medicine. I have previous dog walking experience aside from my own giant puppy. I currently live in Westmont IL with a lot of space and a quiet safe neighborhood for long walks. I work remote for 3 days out of the week so I am flexible with drop in visits and walks. My dog would love a playmate during the day as well, so if you need me to babysit at my place there's plenty of room. I have a friendly bernedoodle who loved to play and has moved with us 3 times to different states! He gets daily long walks, plays with us, and gets treats. We like to take him to explore different parks and trails in the area.
“Angelina has been amazing! Our boy is so happy and Angelina is so communicative throughout the day, and has made this process so easy. I was definitely a little anxious about Opie going to a new daycare but Angelina has relieved all of that worry. We will definitely be using her in the future!”

About: Hello pet parents! Animals have been the center of my world for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I gained a deep lifelong respect for animal care by raising a variety of several pets. This lifelong background means your beloved pup isn't just getting a sitter—they are staying with a highly experienced caretaker who understands animal behavior and needs. I also have 2 grand-pups who are adorable and who I love, have stayed with me at length, boarded and lived with me. I provide a fun, loving, and completely stress-free environment specifically tailored for small to medium-sized dogs. Because I am home full-time, and typically always available, your pup will enjoy constant companionship, interactive playtime, walks to the park, and frequent potty breaks in the fenced in yard, without ever being left alone. I currently work from home and have the availability at home full-time, meaning your dog will enjoy constant companionship. I structure our days around frequent potty breaks every 2 to 3 hours, interactive backyard playtime, and relaxing afternoon naps. Because I don't work away from home, your pup will never be left unsupervised. Your dog will be staying in a spacious, pet-friendly 4-bedroom home designed for comfort. They will have access to a fully fenced backyard perfect for zoomies, playing fetch, plus a living room overflowing with fun toys to keep them happily entertained. Whether they prefer chasing balls outside or curling up on a cozy couch for belly rubs, my home is their ultimate home-away-from-home!
“Danielle was so flexible, responsive and accommodating to my changing plans. And most importantly, my Ava had an absolute blast! Such a comforting feeling to know she’s being so well taken care of. Will definitely rebook. Thanks again!”

“My Shih Tzu, Coco had his first visit with Erica and her family. He was very excited to meet them and he had a great time. I got photos that reassured me he was happy and didn't seem to show any of the separation anxiety he has had. I'm happy to recommend Erica and Ricardo to all and I am definitely adding them to my list of fave Rover people.”

“We had a great experience with them during our stay in Chicago. We had to change our schedule around last minute and they were super accommodating and prompt with responses. Our pup had an amazing time with them. Highly recommend them for your pet care!”

“Phyllis and Greg, are wonderful dog sitters! They have a lot of experience with dogs and a beautiful park right out front of their house that the dogs walk in. Sugar loved it there and was so happy to see them at her first return visit.”

“Emily was a great sitter. She was super easy to work with. She had a great backyard setup. Our pup, Bandit, loves water and Emily had a doggy pool all set up for him. Would book with Emily again.”

“This was the first time we used Destiny, and we’re very happy with how well she treated Ottis on his visit. He immediately made himself at home, cuddled up to her and went to sleep! That’s the strongest endorsement I can give! Also, she was a pleasure to deal with. We had plans in the city and didn’t know exactly when we’d be back, and she was very accommodating to our schedule to pick him up. We’ll definitely use her again the next time we have plans and can’t take the Fur Baby with us!”

“Jean and Al did a great job taking care of Ardal and making sure he was happy and safe playing with their other clients. I got back a very happy, very tired puppy. Thanks again!”

“Joey, our dog, felt very comfortable immediately as soon as she saw Ingrida. We were happy that she was very flexible to accommodate our obstacles. They have a very nice family environment. Thanks for caring for our dog with special needs.”

About: What sets me apart is the level of care and attention I give every pet as if they were my own. My love for animals comes from raising my own dogs, especially my sweet girl, Roxi, whom I was fortunate to have from the time she was a puppy until she crossed the Rainbow Bridge in February 2026 at 15 years old. Caring for her through every stage of life gave me firsthand experience with senior dog care, medication schedules, mobility assistance, and the extra patience, compassion, and love that aging pets deserve. I'm comfortable maintaining feeding routines, administering oral medications, providing potty breaks, and recognizing when a dog's behavior or health seems out of the ordinary. I understand that every dog has a different personality, energy level, and comfort needs, and I adapt my care to make them feel safe, relaxed, and loved. For puppies, I'm happy to reinforce the training and routines you're already working on, including crate training, potty schedules, basic commands, and positive reinforcement. I know consistency is important, and I'll follow your instructions to help keep your puppy on track. You'll also receive regular updates, photos, and messages so you can enjoy your time away knowing your pet is happy, comfortable, and in caring hands. My goal is to provide a stress-free experience for both pets and their owners. Pet care fits well into my schedule because I work a hybrid full-time position, which allows me flexibility throughout the week. I carefully manage my calendar and only accept bookings that I know I can fully commit to, ensuring every pet receives the attention, exercise, and care they deserve. Whether it's morning walks, evening visits, overnight stays, or weekend care, I plan my schedule around each pet's needs. I believe reliability and consistency are just as important as love and affection, so I make it a priority to maintain your pet's normal routine as closely as possible. “Maya was amazing! We needed someone at the last minute and she responded super fast. She took great care of our Scooby. He’s a bit of a nervous guy and I didn’t worry about him for a second while he was with Maya. He was happy and tired when he came home. That’s what we want after a day of daycare fun.”

Sarah was available for a last minute request on Thanksgiving Day! What a lifesaver. She sent us videos throughout the day and when asked if she could extend to an overnight stay she didn’t hesitate. My fur baby came home healthy & safe after a fun-filled day at Sarah’s! I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend too!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Oak Brook commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 3,784 sitters in Oak Brook, 87% respond to messages in under an hour.
You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
