About: We are the proud owners of an adorable dog (Ace) and are adept with dogs of all shapes and sizes. Everyone in the house (Micah and I) work from home full-time, so the dogs will never be left alone. Ace is always great host and will have a lot of fun with his new furry friend 😊 Ace (a miniature poodle / Bishon mix) can mingle with any visitors but can be separated upon request. Please bring dog beds and food. We can’t wait to host your little friend! We work from home full time and plenty the time to dedicate to watching and playing with the pups! Morning walks, afternoon potty breaks, whatever the dogs needs are will be met. Fenced in backyard and large park across the street for long walks. Perfect environment for your dogs staycation! As a proud dog owner ourselves, the pups are never far from our minds and will get plenty of attention…maybe too much lol
“Emily was a great sitter. She was super easy to work with. She had a great backyard setup. Our pup, Bandit, loves water and Emily had a doggy pool all set up for him. Would book with Emily again.”

“Dayana was a great dogsitter to our puppy Honey. She sent pictures and videos throughout the day of Honey having fun and being taken on walks, and she was very nice and communicative. I will definitely be reaching back out for more dog sitting with Dayana!”

“Michelle is amazing, the absolute best! I felt so comfortable leaving my pup with her. She is extremely patient and accommodating. When I was late on pickup due to my crazy hours as a nurse, she was extremely sweet and flexible. My puppy is young and still learning and she was very adaptable with her. I love that my pup was able to socialize with her little ones which allowed her to have fun while getting some energy out. I’m so happy to have found someone that loved and cared for my girl as much as I do! I highly recommend her and will be using her again for daycare!”

“Katie was GREAT! We set up a meet and great, which went great! Katie was super communicative and sent us a lot of pictures! We definitely felt like our dog was in good hands and had a great time!”

“Danielle and her family were wonderful with Blackie. He's a lab mix that can be a little anxious when he is away from us, but they treated Blackie like their own. If the pup is happy, we are happy and we plan to use Danielle again!”
“Samuel was excellent with my girls. He kept me updated with their activities. He sent me many pictures and my girls were having a great time. I will be using Samuel more often. Thank you, Samuel.”

“Bere looked after Bruno all day yesterday. She provided regular updates and photos, which I appreciated. Overall, I'm satisfied with her service." And also for her patience thank you bere.”

“Buddy had such a great time!!! Susseth was so good with him. She was patient with our gentle but big dog. Susseth sent pics of the dogs having a blast!!! This big lug definitely would love to go back and have a play date with Susseth and company!”

“Marissa provides a really wonderful home for our dog, is flexible on timing, gave us peace of mind throughout the day, sent photos the whole time. Highly recommend!”

“Angelina has been amazing! Our boy is so happy and Angelina is so communicative throughout the day, and has made this process so easy. I was definitely a little anxious about Opie going to a new daycare but Angelina has relieved all of that worry. We will definitely be using her in the future!”

I am willing to come by your home in advance to introduce myself and meet your dog(s) prior to boarding. Thank you for understanding. I am a disabled / former police officer. Since I am disabled, I work from home part time (self employed / entrepreneur). I am home a majority of the time with my 2 adult dogs. If I needed to be gone for a long amount of time, my fiancé is home for potty breaks and meal breaks. Daily walks given. If it’s for in home boarding, I have a ring doorbell and Ring cameras. My dogs aren’t allowed outside alone for extended periods of time. Trust and safety is my concern. I have prior law enforcement experience as well.
“Malchom and his family are the dog sitters you are looking for. He is on the spot with communication. The pictures I relieved of Fritz playing and resting with his children and the warm updates about walks left me feeling that he was exceptionally well taken care of which is of course a welcomed delight during a hard day of work. If you’re in the Oak Park area and in need of some doggy day care Malchom is the preferred choice.”

“Karishma was wonderful with my pup Leo! She was careful to follow instructions, ask questions and was all-around super kind, caring and flexible. She sent photos, and I knew he was in great hands! Her home is perfectly located and next to the park and many residential streets making it a nice doggy vacation!”

“My pup has never gone an entire day without one of us over the last two and a half years (I know, I know) but Robby and Nikki were so patient with his anxiety and he had a really fun day. We just found his home away from home ☺️”

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
