“Michelle was great!! I feel so lucky to have found her on the site!! She went above and beyond, sending me pictures and updates throughout the day. Also, she was willing and patient to work with my dog even though she is still a puppy. I truly felt relieved to know she was in Michelle's hands! I will definitely be using her services again.”

“Danielle and her family were wonderful with Blackie. He's a lab mix that can be a little anxious when he is away from us, but they treated Blackie like their own. If the pup is happy, we are happy and we plan to use Danielle again!”

About: I have been a lifelong pet owner and understand that pets are truly part of the family. I share my home with my partner, and together we have years of experience caring for pets with different personalities, routines, and needs. Our family currently includes two small dogs and a cat, and pet care is an important part of our everyday life. What sets us apart is the personal attention and understanding we bring to each pet. We take the time to learn each pet’s unique personality, daily habits, comfort level, and what helps them feel safe and happy in a new environment. We have experience with feeding routines, walks, playtime, enrichment, and recognizing when a pet needs extra patience, comfort, or quiet time. We understand that every pet is different, whether they are energetic and playful, more relaxed, shy, or simply prefer their own space. We are an LGBTQ+ household and believe every family member — human or furry — deserves to feel safe, respected, and cared for. Our goal is to provide dependable, loving care and give pet parents peace of mind knowing their pets are welcomed into a caring home and treated with the same attention and affection we provide our own. I work full-time during the day from 9:30 AM–5:30 PM, and my partner has the same schedule. While we are away, pets have a consistent routine, and once we are home, they receive plenty of attention, companionship, and care. Whoever arrives home first is ready to greet the pets, provide potty breaks, meals, playtime, and any attention they need. My job is only about 10 minutes from home, so I have the flexibility to accommodate additional check-ins or special needs when needed, including extended lunch breaks for pets who require extra attention. On weekends, we are home and able to provide extra companionship, backyard time, play, and relaxation. We understand the importance of maintaining a pet’s normal routine and creating a calm, comfortable environment where they feel safe, loved, and cared for while away from their family. We prioritize safety, comfort, and trust for every pet that stays in our home. We live in a 3-story townhome with a fully fenced backyard, providing a secure space for outdoor time, play, and fresh air. Our finished basement offers a dedicated pet area where pets can have their own quiet space to relax, decompress, or have separation when needed. We understand that every pet has different comfort levels and needs. If you would like your pet to have companionship during their stay, we can arrange a slow and supervised introduction with our pets to make sure everyone is comfortable. If your pet prefers their own space, we can keep pets completely separated for the entirety of their stay. Our own pets will have access to the upstairs third level of our home, allowing us to create a safe and comfortable environment for everyone. Our home already includes two small dogs and a cat, so we have experience managing pets with different personalities, routines, and boundaries.
“Melissa watched our two high energy pups for the day so we could visit with family. They had the best day and she kept us updated with photos and videos all day long. She was so responsible with how she introduced them to the other dogs in her home. I could not recommend her enough!”

“Iris was amazing with our pup! He’s not perfect and she was so kind and accepting of his needs. Her home is dog friendly and made us feel very comfortable. She’s knowledgeable on all things dogs and truly spoiled our Oscar. We have already planned our next trip and know Oscar will be in good hands with Iris so we can rest easy while away.”

About: I’ve had dogs and cats my entire life, and caring for animals is truly a passion of mine. I currently have one dog and two cats who are a huge part of my family, we love them dearly and treat all pets in our home the same way. I work part-time, which gives me plenty of time and flexibility to give your pup lots of attention, playtime, and care. I’m available for both weekday and weekend boarding, and my schedule is very open. I live near several trails and parks, so walks and outdoor time are a big part of the experience here. I also have a very active 8 year old Lab named Layla who absolutely adores people and other dogs. She’s friendly, playful, and loves having company. Because I have two cats in the home, visiting dogs must be cat-friendly. At this time, I’m not able to accommodate pit bulls or pit mixes. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities, and I aim to make them feel right at home while they’re with us. I’m currently working part time, so I’ll have plenty of time to play with your pup! In my home your pet will be family to us. While your pup is in my home, she will go on walks and plays right along side my dog. Your pet will have full range of our home, and will be treated no differently than my dog, so your dog might come home more spoiled than ever!
“Fancy had a great couple of days with Jean and Al. She and another puppy ran until they couldn't run any more. Fancy fell asleep the moment we got home. She woke up long enough to have dinner and then went back to sleep for the night. The next day she did it all over again. I will absolutely have Fancy stay with Jean and Al again! Thank you, Jean and Al.”

“Ingrida is amazing !!!!!!! Willakea enjoyed her time here so so so much. Nothing but good vibes xx cheers! I’m so happy to say we’ve found our favorite doggie day care in town :)”

“I felt very safe and secure leaving my baby with Justine and Brett. Such a sweet couple and a lovely home. They are now my go to whenever I visit ! They have good communication and treated my doxie as if she was their own. Very happy I found them! Thank you with all my heart!”

About: I have been an avid animal lover as a child and have owned cats, bunnies and currently a 100 pound bernedoodle! I love taking care of animals and have experience administering medicine. I have previous dog walking experience aside from my own giant puppy. I currently live in Westmont IL with a lot of space and a quiet safe neighborhood for long walks. I work remote for 3 days out of the week so I am flexible with drop in visits and walks. My dog would love a playmate during the day as well, so if you need me to babysit at my place there's plenty of room. I have a friendly bernedoodle who loved to play and has moved with us 3 times to different states! He gets daily long walks, plays with us, and gets treats. We like to take him to explore different parks and trails in the area.
About: What sets me apart is that I don’t look at pet care as just a job—I truly treat every pet like family. ❤️ I have years of hands-on experience caring for dogs and cats for family, friends, and loved ones, and I understand how important it is to leave your pets with someone you can trust. I provide personalized, one-on-one attention and take the time to learn each pet’s personality, routine, likes, and needs. Whether I’m taking a dog for a walk, stopping in to care for a cat, or welcoming a dog into my home, my goal is always for your pet to feel safe, comfortable, loved, and happy. I’m also big on communication. I want you to feel connected while you’re away, so I’m happy to send updates and photos so you can see how your furry family member is doing. Most importantly, I know how much our pets mean to us. I’ve experienced the joy of having them as part of my family and the heartbreak of losing them, so I never take the trust someone places in me lightly. Your pet will receive the same patience, kindness, attention, and love that I would want for my own. 🐾❤️ Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine. I work from home, which gives me the flexibility to provide walks, drop-in visits, and in-home pet care while still being available and attentive to the pets in my care. I’m able to build my schedule around my clients’ needs and make sure each pet receives the time, attention, exercise, and companionship they deserve. I enjoy having pet care as part of my routine because it gives me the opportunity to spend more time with animals and provide the personalized care and attention I would want for my own pets. Whether your pet needs a midday walk, a cat check-in, or a comfortable home away from home, I’m happy to work together to find a schedule that keeps your pet happy, comfortable, and well cared for. 🐾❤️ I provide personalized care based on each pet’s individual needs and the services requested. Whether your pet is staying in my home or I’m caring for them in your home, my goal is to keep their routine as familiar and comfortable as possible. When pets stay in my home, I provide a safe, welcoming, and supervised environment with plenty of attention, playtime, potty breaks, exercise, and affection. I also make sure they have a comfortable space to relax and follow their normal feeding and medication routines as closely as possible. For visits in a client’s home, I follow your pet’s established routine and provide everything they need, including feeding, fresh water, potty breaks, walks, litter box care, playtime, and companionship. I’m respectful of your home and always make sure everything is secure before I leave. I believe communication is just as important as good pet care, so I’m happy to provide photos and updates during visits or stays. Every pet is different, and I take the time to learn their personality, preferences, and needs so they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away. 🐾❤️
“Bach spent a quiet restful day with Emily and family. He was very happy and well cared for. Even though it was the first visit and only for a day, he seemed very happy and peaceful when we picked him up. It's always difficult to introduce a dog to a new "friend" and household but Emily made it easy and comfortable for Bach. Bach recommends her!”

About: We lost our cocker spaniel of 13 years about 2 years ago so I love to take care of dogs now that we don’t have a dog to pamper. We care for one dog at a time unless two dogs are siblings or good friends then that’s OK. I love to walk around Lake Ellyn Park nearby or just snuggle on the couch and chill with them. I realize how important your baby is to you and will give them love, companionship and special care. We love having a dog around. I’m retired and an empty nester so I am flexible and around all the time. I love to walk around Lake Ellyn Park and Glenbard West HS just down my street. We also like to sit on the front porch in the shade (gated) and watch the world go by. It’s a dead end street; so it’s very relaxed & chill. We are a few blocks from Main Street and town. We love hanging out in the back yard or the porch with our dog guests and take frequent walks.
About: I’ve cared for dogs of all kinds since I was young. Over the years, friends, family, and neighbors have trusted me to walk, feed, bathe, and care for their pets, giving me plenty of hands-on experience with dogs of different personalities and needs. As a mom to both a child and a beloved fur baby, pet care is a genuinely enjoyable and rewarding gig for me. I understand how important pets are to a family and love providing them with the attention, companionship, exercise, and care they deserve. I’m responsible, nurturing, and happy to treat every pet like part of the family. I have a small fenced yard and a huge open lot across the street. I can walk your fur babies in residential areas, or take them on forest preserve trail runs nearby if they are active pups!
“Neelank and Diana are the kindest petsitters. Snoopy had such a good time playing outside with their 2 dogs Porter & Oliver. They took care of Snoopy as he was their own dog. Definitely would recommend them if you are searching a trustworthy place for your dog to stay a day or more.”

About: I have taken care of dogs since I started highschool. Before becoming a sitter on this app I walked, bathed, feed, and over night stayed with my neighbors, family, and friends dogs of all different breeds big too small. I am prepared to take the stress out of your hands and have some fun with your pets. I am currently a dental student at Midwestern University in Downer Groove. I have class and exams during the week but my schedule is flexible. If I am not at school the rest of my day is based mainly at my apartment studying so I have a bunch of time for your pets. I live in a apartment with one roomate and no pets. I am a very active person so I often go on walks when it’s not to snowy or cold out. I also have cared for pets my whole life and have a very pet friendly apartment that is clean and safe for your pets.

About: Hello pet parents! Animals have been the center of my world for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I gained a deep lifelong respect for animal care by raising a variety of several pets. This lifelong background means your beloved pup isn't just getting a sitter—they are staying with a highly experienced caretaker who understands animal behavior and needs. I also have 2 grand-pups who are adorable and who I love, have stayed with me at length, boarded and lived with me. I provide a fun, loving, and completely stress-free environment specifically tailored for small to medium-sized dogs. Because I am home full-time, and typically always available, your pup will enjoy constant companionship, interactive playtime, walks to the park, and frequent potty breaks in the fenced in yard, without ever being left alone. I currently work from home and have the availability at home full-time, meaning your dog will enjoy constant companionship. I structure our days around frequent potty breaks every 2 to 3 hours, interactive backyard playtime, and relaxing afternoon naps. Because I don't work away from home, your pup will never be left unsupervised. Your dog will be staying in a spacious, pet-friendly 4-bedroom home designed for comfort. They will have access to a fully fenced backyard perfect for zoomies, playing fetch, plus a living room overflowing with fun toys to keep them happily entertained. Whether they prefer chasing balls outside or curling up on a cozy couch for belly rubs, my home is their ultimate home-away-from-home!

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - York Center
Michelle was absolutely fantastic - one of the best Rover's we've ever worked with. She was very responsive and flexible with our timings, sent numerous pictures throughout the day, and took excellent care of our Millie. Millie had a great time at her place and left happy - will definitely be comfortable leaving Millie with Michelle and her family again!

Maureen is absolutely the best! We were in Chicago for a wedding and needed someone to take care of our Bernedoodle — my whole world — while we were there, and she was amazing. I only wish I lived closer because I would use her all the time! Thank you, Maureen! Mocha says thank you too! She truly was such a blessing, and I give her my highest recommendation.

Sarah was available for a last minute request on Thanksgiving Day! What a lifesaver. She sent us videos throughout the day and when asked if she could extend to an overnight stay she didn’t hesitate. My fur baby came home healthy & safe after a fun-filled day at Sarah’s! I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend too!

We booked with Eliza last minute on Thanksgiving day & that alone was such a lifesaver, & immediately put us at ease. She was so kind and welcoming from the moment we arrived. Her home felt warm, safe, and even her mom was there. You could immediately feel the genuine kindness and warmth they were offering, and we just knew they would be so sweet with our pups. I got photo updates throughout the visit. I’m so grateful Eliza accepted us last minute. She took such great care of our babies! Her communication is truly above and beyond. Every message and update made us feel reassured and so grateful. We would absolutely book with her again!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your York Center commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
