âI bring my Doberman puppy to Karissa and couldn't be happier. Because of Karissa, her household, and her "pack", my puppy is so very happy, calm and socialized around cats, dogs, children, and people out in public. I get adorable updates from her which cheer me up while I'm away at work. Each morning as I pull up to her house my puppy starts barking excitedly and literally runs to her front door. At the end of the day he doesn't want to leave. Not only does she take care of his daily needs, but she goes the extra mile taking him out to stores that allow puppies such as Home Depot for extra socialization. Some people think that having my puppy go to day care is an extravagance, but these months are critical in the emotional development of all dogs. He is going to be my companion for the next 12 or 13 years. Thanks to Karissa, he is going to be wonderfulâ
âMichelle is amazing, the absolute best! I felt so comfortable leaving my pup with her. She is extremely patient and accommodating. When I was late on pickup due to my crazy hours as a nurse, she was extremely sweet and flexible. My puppy is young and still learning and she was very adaptable with her. I love that my pup was able to socialize with her little ones which allowed her to have fun while getting some energy out. Iâm so happy to have found someone that loved and cared for my girl as much as I do! I highly recommend her and will be using her again for daycare!â

âDanielle and her family were wonderful with Blackie. He's a lab mix that can be a little anxious when he is away from us, but they treated Blackie like their own. If the pup is happy, we are happy and we plan to use Danielle again!â
âIris was amazing with our pup! Heâs not perfect and she was so kind and accepting of his needs. Her home is dog friendly and made us feel very comfortable. Sheâs knowledgeable on all things dogs and truly spoiled our Oscar. We have already planned our next trip and know Oscar will be in good hands with Iris so we can rest easy while away.â

About: Iâve had dogs and cats my entire life, and caring for animals is truly a passion of mine. I currently have one dog and two cats who are a huge part of my family, we love them dearly and treat all pets in our home the same way. I work part-time, which gives me plenty of time and flexibility to give your pup lots of attention, playtime, and care. Iâm available for both weekday and weekend boarding, and my schedule is very open. I live near several trails and parks, so walks and outdoor time are a big part of the experience here. I also have a very active 8 year old Lab named Layla who absolutely adores people and other dogs. Sheâs friendly, playful, and loves having company. Because I have two cats in the home, visiting dogs must be cat-friendly. At this time, Iâm not able to accommodate pit bulls or pit mixes. Your petâs safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities, and I aim to make them feel right at home while theyâre with us. PLEASE ONLY DOGS THAT ARE HOUSE TRAINED! Iâm currently working part time, so Iâll have plenty of time to play with your pup! In my home your pet will be family to us. While your pup is in my home, she will go on walks and plays right along side my dog. Your pet will have full range of our home, and will be treated no differently than my dog, so your dog might come home more spoiled than ever!
âJustine and Brett were fantastic! By the time I picked up my little pup, he was all tired out from all the attention and playtime they had with him. So grateful to them for watching my pet!â

About: Iâve grown up with dogs my entire life, so caring for animals has always been a natural part of my daily routine. From playful puppy stages to slower-paced senior dogs, I have experience in it all. Whether itâs feeding and walking or playtime and cuddles, I truly enjoy spending time with pets and making sure they feel happy and comfortable. I also have two cats of my own that I absolutely spoil, so I understand how important it is to give pets plenty of attention, affection, and care. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, or just relaxing with someone nearby, Iâm happy to make sure they feel safe and loved while youâre away. I treat every pet as if they were my own and always prioritize their comfort, safety, and routine. I currently have a very flexible schedule and plenty of availability throughout the week. I start Physician Assistant school in the fall, so for now I have lots of free time and can dedicate plenty of attention to the pets in my care. Because my schedule is open, Iâm able to accommodate walks, drop-ins, playtime, and check-ins throughout the day. With the weather getting warmer, Iâm especially happy to take dogs out for walks or spend time outdoors so they can get fresh air and exercise. My flexible routine allows me to make sure pets receive consistent care, attention, and companionship while their owners are away. I live in a clean, spacious apartment that provides a calm and comfortable environment for pets. My complex also has great outdoor spaces, including courtyards and a dog park, as well as safe walking areas, which makes it easy for dogs to get fresh air, exercise, and playtime. At home, I have two very loved cats who are used to a quiet, well-maintained environment. They are a big part of my life and help make our home feel warm and welcoming. I always prioritize slow, respectful introductions so every pet feels comfortable and safe in the space. Safety and routine are very important to me. Iâm able to follow any specific care instructions you provide, including feeding schedules, medication routines, or crate training if needed. My goal is to create a stress-free, secure environment where your pet feels relaxed and cared for while youâre away.
âMelissa watched our two high energy pups for the day so we could visit with family. They had the best day and she kept us updated with photos and videos all day long. She was so responsible with how she introduced them to the other dogs in her home. I could not recommend her enough!â

âJean and Al did a great job taking care of Ardal and making sure he was happy and safe playing with their other clients. I got back a very happy, very tired puppy. Thanks again!â

I will be sure to return your Pet's just as clean and healthy as they came. If I am trusted in your home I will do my best to do the same
About: We lost our cocker spaniel of 13 years about 2 years ago so I love to take care of dogs now that we donât have a dog to pamper. We care for one dog at a time unless two dogs are siblings or good friends then thatâs OK. I love to walk around Lake Ellyn Park nearby or just snuggle on the couch and chill with them. I realize how important your baby is to you and will give them love, companionship and special care. We love having a dog around. Iâm retired and an empty nester so I am flexible and around all the time. I love to walk around Lake Ellyn Park and Glenbard West HS just down my street. We also like to sit on the front porch in the shade (gated) and watch the world go by. Itâs a dead end street; so itâs very relaxed & chill. We are a few blocks from Main Street and town. We love hanging out in the back yard or the porch with our dog guests and take frequent walks.

Sarah was available for a last minute request on Thanksgiving Day! What a lifesaver. She sent us videos throughout the day and when asked if she could extend to an overnight stay she didnât hesitate. My fur baby came home healthy & safe after a fun-filled day at Sarahâs! Iâll definitely be back and highly recommend too!

We booked with Eliza last minute on Thanksgiving day & that alone was such a lifesaver, & immediately put us at ease. She was so kind and welcoming from the moment we arrived. Her home felt warm, safe, and even her mom was there. You could immediately feel the genuine kindness and warmth they were offering, and we just knew they would be so sweet with our pups. I got photo updates throughout the visit. Iâm so grateful Eliza accepted us last minute. She took such great care of our babies! Her communication is truly above and beyond. Every message and update made us feel reassured and so grateful. We would absolutely book with her again!

If your schedule changes, itâs best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dogâs fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0â7 kilograms and/or 7â18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pupâs socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dogâs pack, check the sitterâs profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dogâs vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitterâs care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, youâre adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justiceâs National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Roverâs commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
