“Connie was incredible! She was so sweet with Rocky, and great with communicating and sending updates/photos. I’ll definitely be using Connie the next time I’m out of town!”

“Courtney and her family were wonderful taking care of our dog. I get plenty of pictures and updates every day. It is so good to know he is well loved and well taken care of!”

“Summer really enjoyed her stay at Linda's home. Linda was able to accept Summer on short notice. Linda and her family were patient in learning Summer's puppy behaviors/mannerisms and were able to adapt to managing those behaviors. Our family liked getting pictures/updates while we were away. I'm pretty sure Summer's favorite part was Linda's huge fenced backyard where she could run freely. It was great to be able to pick Summer up on a Sunday night when a kennel would normally be closed and having to wait until Monday. Hopefully we can use Linda again so we feel less guilty about going away and knowing Summer is enjoying the comforts of a home instead of a kennel.”
“Michael really helped us out for an overnight in Glen Ellyn. He was very responsive with messaging in preparation for our dog stay. He was also friendly with our drop off and pickup. He took good care of our buddy boy, Cooper! Thank you Michael!”

“Myya was PHENOMENAL!!!! She eased all of my fears about leaving my Baby with a complete stranger. She sent pics and daily updates which was also great. When I picked Zuko up he was so happy Ave based on his behavior I could tell he had been in GREAT hands!! Thank you so much Myya!!”

“Regarding our plans for spring break, our plans changed multiple times and we were in need of care for our dog kind of last minute considering spring break timing. I am grateful that Kent was able to help us out. Kent was very easy to work with and he took great care of Tansey. He provided daily updates and sent some pictures of Tansey. Kent is very kind and it shows that he really enjoys caring for dogs. Thank you Kent!”

“Valentina was great she kept me informed with Riley Riley seemed to have a good time I would definitely recommend her very reasonable and again very close to home thank you Val entina for your great service”

“So grateful to have found Shannon, Nick and family to watch our dog! They were so accommodating, warm and friendly and took him on frequent walks! Also sent lots of pics! I feel so comfortable leaving him with them again. Thank you!”

About: I have been a lifelong pet owner and understand that pets are truly part of the family. I share my home with my partner, and together we have years of experience caring for pets with different personalities, routines, and needs. Our family currently includes two small dogs and a cat, and pet care is an important part of our everyday life. What sets us apart is the personal attention and understanding we bring to each pet. We take the time to learn each pet’s unique personality, daily habits, comfort level, and what helps them feel safe and happy in a new environment. We have experience with feeding routines, walks, playtime, enrichment, and recognizing when a pet needs extra patience, comfort, or quiet time. We understand that every pet is different, whether they are energetic and playful, more relaxed, shy, or simply prefer their own space. We are an LGBTQ+ household and believe every family member — human or furry — deserves to feel safe, respected, and cared for. Our goal is to provide dependable, loving care and give pet parents peace of mind knowing their pets are welcomed into a caring home and treated with the same attention and affection we provide our own. I work full-time during the day from 9:30 AM–5:30 PM, and my partner has the same schedule. While we are away, pets have a consistent routine, and once we are home, they receive plenty of attention, companionship, and care. Whoever arrives home first is ready to greet the pets, provide potty breaks, meals, playtime, and any attention they need. My job is only about 10 minutes from home, so I have the flexibility to accommodate additional check-ins or special needs when needed, including extended lunch breaks for pets who require extra attention. On weekends, we are home and able to provide extra companionship, backyard time, play, and relaxation. We understand the importance of maintaining a pet’s normal routine and creating a calm, comfortable environment where they feel safe, loved, and cared for while away from their family. We prioritize safety, comfort, and trust for every pet that stays in our home. We live in a 3-story townhome with a fully fenced backyard, providing a secure space for outdoor time, play, and fresh air. Our finished basement offers a dedicated pet area where pets can have their own quiet space to relax, decompress, or have separation when needed. We understand that every pet has different comfort levels and needs. If you would like your pet to have companionship during their stay, we can arrange a slow and supervised introduction with our pets to make sure everyone is comfortable. If your pet prefers their own space, we can keep pets completely separated for the entirety of their stay. Our own pets will have access to the upstairs third level of our home, allowing us to create a safe and comfortable environment for everyone. Our home already includes two small dogs and a cat, so we have experience managing pets with different personalities, routines, and boundaries.
“Super thoughtful and experience with dogs. Sent videos and updates and was flexible when we needed to pick our dog up later than expected. Beautifully maintained home and neighborhood.”

“Quandra is amazing! She knows how to care for large and small dogs, as well. Took great care of my Husky and her puppy, while I had to catch a flight on business. I highly recommend her.”

“Robert did a great job with our weimaraner Geddy. He gave him lots of good exercise and worked with Geddy’s quirks. Robert kept us updated throughout our trip. I would highly recommend him and we will definitely plan to use him in the future. Thanks for everything Robert.”

“Gabriela and Richard were so kind and sweet with my toy poodle! They even took her on little adventures to get doggie ice cream and nice walks around the neighborhood, aside from plenty of outside time in their own fenced-in backyard! Gabriela was super great about texting updates and super cute pics of my girl! And they even got her to eat a good bit while I was away even though she usually tries to go on a hunger strike in my absence. Gabriela met us for like 15 mins at the local park before boarding and got to know my dog and garner some info from me, which I really appreciated and not a lot of boarders do that! My girl was very happy when I picked her up and I would absolutely rebook Gabriela and Richard! Highly recommend!”

“Elise did a great job watching our dog for a week while we were on vacation. She sent photos and let us know how he was doing. We felt very comfortable, knowing that he was in great hands. I’d definitely recommend having Elise watch your pet!”

“Angelica is amazing leaving our 2 fur babies is never easy, but our 8 year old Morkie had never been anywhere else besides grandmas and she did amazing job with our boy. With our Goldendoodle he had a blast! Angelica is caring and thoughtful. I would recommend to all my friends and family members. Thank you for what you do!”

“Lyn and family stepped up for us when our boarding situation fell apart mid trip. Our dog is already super anxious and was coming from another anxiety producing situation when she arrived as a guest at Lyn's, but when we picked her up after several days with Lyn and family she was her normal happy self. We are so grateful!”

“Rob was so great with our dog Rory! He was very attentive and sent along tons of great pictures and updates. She definitely had a great time at his house, playing in the yard, and snuggling on the couch. Thanks Rob!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Lombard
We just had our dog Frida stay with Iris for 6 days and could not be happier with the absolute best care Frida received. We are first timers with Rover and were a bit hesitant doing a service. Frida is an 8lb little dog and wanted someone who does one dog/family at a time and this is what Iris does. We were so happy to find this with Iris. Her whole family loved and cared for our Frida and we are so appreciative for this special and kind care. We 100% recommend Iris and definitely found a great pet sitter. Also, I like that Frida was never left alone the whole 6 days. I was afraid she wouldn't want to come home lol. Book with Iris!!!

Amberley did a great job watching my dog, Herbie! She sent plenty of updates throughout his stay, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. When Herbie wasn't interested in eating his dog food, she even took the time to make him some chicken to make sure he ate. It was clear that she genuinely cared about him and treated him like her own. I would definitely book with Amberley again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter.

Jean and Al were wonderful pet sitters for Gus and Stella during our 10-day vacation. We felt completely at ease knowing they were being cared for so well. Gus is a special needs dog and needs extra attention, including medication, and Jean and Al went above and beyond to make sure he was comfortable, cared for, and had everything he needed. They also sent us photos of both dogs every day, which we really appreciated. It was obvious from the pictures that Gus and Stella were relaxed, happy, and getting plenty of love from Jean, Al, and their family. When we picked them up, both dogs seemed happy and completely comfortable, which told us everything we needed to know. We’re very grateful for the care they gave Gus and Stella and would absolutely use them again the next time we travel.

Danielle was fantastic! Communication was great and Pete seemed to really enjoy his stay. I would 100% recommend Danielle’s services and I will for sure rebook for my next trip. It is so nice to know my dog is being well taken care of and loved as their own while I’m out of town!

Benji spent another week with Amanda and he loved it! He does have a little bit of separation anxiety, this was his second time, and he had no problem heading into her door and away from me. She is amazing, sends updates with pictures and cuddles with him on the couch. Best sitter ever!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
