“Izzy had another great stay. Huge thanks to Ingrida and her family. We were moving to a new home and had to change our stay at the last minute and we were a little flaky on drop off and pick up times. Ingrida was very accommodating. It is always hard to leave our little girl, but Ingrida always makes us feel at ease. Her services are wonderful.”
“Mary and crew were very accommodating to handle Remington! Easy to set up, sent pics and updates timely, and were flexible as our flight was delayed. Will be sending Rem there again for sure!”

“Kent was absolutely wonderful with my dog, Chloe. Chloe is a difficult case because she can’t be alone because of her separation anxiety she can’t be with other dogs because of her reactivity. This makes her somewhat high maintenance. Kent was able to handle and he loved taking care of her! I’ll be back to ask Kent again to take of Chloe for the upcoming holidays. Kent is very communicative and and just an overall sweet, wonderful, caring and competent person.”

“Our golden doodle was so loved and well taken care of with Courtney and her family! They have dog-living children who are the perfect ages to take care of dogs. Her own dogs were there too, and our pup got along great with them. He was picked up and dropped off in a brand new car! This was such a convenience for us. Each day we received pictures of our happy guy in their home. We had all the confidence even before we met, that Courtney was going to be an excellent dog sitter. We will be using her again and again!”

“Linda was great. Very supportive and was amazing at getting my dog to feel comfortable in a new environment. Would recommend Linda for all your dog watching needs.”

“I try to always tip in cash. For some reason I don't know I just feel like it's safer. But I won't let my cat stay with anybody else for Katie. Katie makes your animal feel like they are one of her family. My cat is very skittish and afraid of strangers. But not with Katie. She is absolutely the best! If you want the best than book with Katie!”

“This was the second time and on this particular occasion for a longer period of time that I utilized Will as a sitter. I believe that my pet was again well cared for and it was great to receive pictures of my pet when she was in the care of Will. I’m sure my pet was much happier being in the care of Will than in a kennel with a dozen other dogs.”

“This is my first time using the Rover App and Christina made it an amazing experience. We met prior to boarding so I was very comfortable with seeing the space our puppy was going to stay. This was a great opportunity for us to meet her sweet pup Brydie. Both Dogs hit off from the start and I knew this was a good opportunity for our pup, Marshmallow to have a friend to play with while we are out of town. We had fears about Marshmallow running off but Christina took good care of her. She sent us pictures while we were on vacation on was very easy to work with. Her whole family was great and I knew our baby was in good hands. I highly recommend Christina as she is kind and companionate and you know she will treat your pup as her own. Thanks for such a great experience.”

“Michael took care of my dog really well! She seemed really happy to be there and got alone well with the dogs. The responses were fast and updated me on my dog. I will book again when needed!”

“This was our puppy’s first time being away from us and Connie helped it go smoothly! She was great at sending a couple pictures while we were away, and when we picked him up, he was clearly very happy and comfortable in her home. She’s warm and welcoming.”

“Kim took such great care of Ashland. She updated us with Ashland's status with photos and messages periodically so we could see how she was doing. I would definitely have Kim watch her again without any worries or concerns.”

“Love that my dog was released outside every hour, made me feel confident that he would have a good time. Lyn was nice and considerate! She gave me honest updates while my dog boarded with her. I was pleasantly shocked when I came to pick up my dog and he looked like he came back from the salon all clean and paws trimmed, thank you so much, really made my month since I was gonna wash him myself when I picked him up and I didn't need to! Appreciate it :)”

“Rosie once again has taken very good care of our little "special needs" doggie, Peanut. My husband and I could tell that Peanut was loved, cuddled, walked, and given much attention- of which we are very grateful for. Rosie is also good at giving Peanut his medicine! We highly recommend her to pet owners in need of a sitter!”

“Jean and Al were wonderful pet sitters for Gus and Stella during our 10-day vacation. We felt completely at ease knowing they were being cared for so well. Gus is a special needs dog and needs extra attention, including medication, and Jean and Al went above and beyond to make sure he was comfortable, cared for, and had everything he needed. They also sent us photos of both dogs every day, which we really appreciated. It was obvious from the pictures that Gus and Stella were relaxed, happy, and getting plenty of love from Jean, Al, and their family. When we picked them up, both dogs seemed happy and completely comfortable, which told us everything we needed to know. We’re very grateful for the care they gave Gus and Stella and would absolutely use them again the next time we travel.”

“So happy with Kaya’s stay at Elise’s house. Her dog and Kaya got along so well. Elise provided us updates throughout the stay, which put us at ease. Definitely coming back for more stays! Highly recommend”

“Allis did such a wonderful job watching my 10 y.o. pup, Franklin. She provided daily updates and pictures and videos. I knew Franklin was being loved and well taken care of!”

“Brian dog sat for London our pittie mix. She is a sweet girl but is high energy and has reactivity issues on walks. She can be very clingy as well so a special home is needed. Brian fit what we were looking for when we left town for 5 days. She was well cared for and we got updates from Brian with a photo to let us know she was doing fine.”

“Shannon and Nick are the BEST pup sitters money can buy! We were nervous about leaving our six-month-old little guy behind because it was our first long trip since we got him in December, but those nerves quickly faded. We got multiple daily updates with pictures galore (starting a couple of hours after we dropped him off), and Shannon and Nick treated him as their own for the week we were gone. They get five stars and two thumbs WAY up. We'll absolutely be reaching out to them in the future!”

First time leaving my 2 1/2 yr old Golden with anyone other than family so I was pretty nervous on how It would go but Danielle put my mind at ease and made my girl Emme a part of her family for the night! She even got her to eat her dinner which is always a struggle when the routine is switched up. Your fur baby is in great hands with Danielle.

Amberley and Matt were great to meet and work with for boarding our dog Stella. You do not always know in advance how your dog and other dogs will be compatible. We received daily updates of walks , acitivity , pics , and compatibility. Thanks Amberley and Matt for taking such good care of Stella while we were away. —- Peter

We just had our dog Frida stay with Iris for 6 days and could not be happier with the absolute best care Frida received. We are first timers with Rover and were a bit hesitant doing a service. Frida is an 8lb little dog and wanted someone who does one dog/family at a time and this is what Iris does. We were so happy to find this with Iris. Her whole family loved and cared for our Frida and we are so appreciative for this special and kind care. We 100% recommend Iris and definitely found a great pet sitter. Also, I like that Frida was never left alone the whole 6 days. I was afraid she wouldn't want to come home lol. Book with Iris!!!

Benji spent another week with Amanda and he loved it! He does have a little bit of separation anxiety, this was his second time, and he had no problem heading into her door and away from me. She is amazing, sends updates with pictures and cuddles with him on the couch. Best sitter ever!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
