“Wayne was amazing! Kept me updated the entire time while I was away. My first time booking on Rover as I was referred by someone else. I would definitely rebook again in the future. I highly recommend him”

“Roxy came home happy and was well taken care of. We booked pretty short notice so were relieved to find such great people to care for her while we were gone!”

About: I've taken care of pets ever since I was a kid. When I was in high school, my family hosted dogs of all sizes, including one of my favorites, a Burnese Mountain Dog named Ruby. Lately I've had the chance to watch my brother's two dogs (as seen in my bio pics) when he travels. I work a semi-active full time job over the week, with plenty of energy to spare when I'm not working. I am fully available over the weekends from Friday evening straight through to Sunday! I also am free on weekdays for walks or drop-ins as long as it's before 7:30 am or after 5 pm. Your dog will stay in a cozy, smoke-free condo where they are welcome on the furniture and bed. While I don't have a yard, I love taking long, frequent walks around the neighborhood. For their comfort and safety, I host one family at a time and ask that owners provide the dog's preferred bed or crate if possible

“Valentina is a gem and took very good care of Charlie for 5 days! She updated me daily with texts/photos, which was very appreciated. I would highly recommend her for dog sitting!!”

“Our dog Marty had a wonderful stay at Maria’s house. He was all smiles when we picked him up. I would recommend Maria to anyone who likes their dog to have fun interacting with other dogs.”

“Excellent and attentive service! We really appreciate the time and care Rosie showed our dog. She made sure to keep us informed and shared pictures of his stay. We will definitely use her services again.”

“As soon as we had our meet and greet with Annika we knew our dogs would be in good hands. She and Grant provided a warm and welcoming home for our girls while we were out of town for nine days. They took them on walks in the park and played with our ball obsessed Sheltie. Thunder scares our dogs and Annika and Grant snuggled them through the storms. They sent pictures all the time and I was sure Sunny and Dolly were never going to want to come home! I can't make enough positive comments about the kindness and attention our girls were given by Annika and Grant.”

“Terri took such loving care of our dog! She was very proactive in understanding what would help him adjust to being away from home, and provided daily updates and checked in when it was appropriate and helpful! She went above and beyond to look after him so well!”

“Patricia took great care of Tess for us! She was very communicative and send lots of updates. Tess came home happy and healthy! We would definitely ask Patricia to help us with Tess again”

“Eric was awesome and super accomdating to us with timing even though our flight was delayed. We couldn't be more grateful for that and also knowing Papaya was in good hands during her stay. Papaya got along really well with Axl and Eric's family. We saw lots of pictures and a tired dog is always a good sign that she had tons of fun!”

“Kimberly was kind and truly cared for our dogs. In every photo she sent, our pups looked relaxed and happy. It was our first time leaving them with someone else, so we were quite worried — but all our concerns disappeared after just one day. We’re definitely planning to leave our dogs with Kimberly again. Highly recommended!”

“Esha and vineeth did a great job taking care of our Cavapoo, Lenny. He came back so happy and relaxed. We got constant updates and the communication was very clearly. Highly recommend using them to watch your pup”

“The best. Keeps you updated on how your dog is doing the entire time. Has a great place for the dogs and the dogs seem to have a blast. Big fenced backyard. Great experience overall and she is so nice.”

Natalie was great with our dog while we were out of town. He got along great with her cats and we got plenty of pictures while we were gone of him living his best life looking relaxed and happy. We’d definitely book with Natalie again if she’s available next time we’re traveling!

Lynda was absolutely wonderful with Hazel! Hazel is a very anxious dog, so I was nervous about leaving her, but Lynda was incredibly patient and caring. Hazel warmed up to her and looked so comfortable and happy. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience, and I would trust Lynda with Hazel again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend!

It was so nice having Karen watch my dog, Libby. I really appreciated that she took the time to learn about Libby’s personality and did her best to keep her routine fun and as close to home as possible. Karen was kind, caring, and communicative throughout the stay, which gave me peace of mind. She was also very flexible with both dropoff and pickup times, and I really appreciated that. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again!

Willow loved her stay at Justine & Brett’s! She was reliable, communicative, and clearly loves animals. We received regular updates and photos. Our dog came home happy, relaxed, and very well cared for. We truly appreciated the extra attention and love she gave. We would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter!

Such a lovely family who warmly embrace all dogs and their needs. My dog - Clipper - had a wonderful couple of nights there. They were in touch with cute photos and updates and were extremely gracious and welcomed Clipper for an extra night when my flight home was cancelled. I’ll definitely rebook with Amanda and Anton!

Christine took amazing care of our dog Simon! She went above and beyond to make sure he was given lots of love, and was energized with daily walks and enrichment. She was very attentive to his needs and sent regular updates, putting our minds at ease to know he was in good hands and well cared for throughout his stay. Christine was the absolute best!

Rachel is amazing!! She kept in touch with us throughout the stay which I really appreciated it, she sent photos and in every photo Stella looked so happy and I knew she was having a blast. Will definitely book with Rachel again. Thank you so much for taking care of our Stella girl💓

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
