About: I grew up with my black cat, Sony, being my best friend, but she unfortunately passed away in 2021 at the grand old age of 21. After she passed, I decided to start fostering cats in her memory! Since I started fostering, I have successfully helped 10 cats and kittens find their amazing forever homes! I cat-sat for many people while I was in college in Chicago and have even gotten a sweet girl of my own since then. About: We lost our cocker spaniel of 13 years about 2 years ago so I love to take care of dogs now that we don’t have a dog to pamper. We care for one dog at a time unless two dogs are siblings or good friends then that’s OK. I love to walk around Lake Ellyn Park nearby or just snuggle on the couch and chill with them. I realize how important your baby is to you and will give them love, companionship and special care. We love having a dog around. I’m retired and an empty nester so I am flexible and around all the time. I love to walk around Lake Ellyn Park and Glenbard West HS just down my street. I am also able to do a basic full body groom for dogs including paw pads, nails, teeth, and ears from home, limited to dogs requiring only brush outs and not actual haircuts for their breed. With my experience in pet anxiety, particularly separation, I am also very attentive to enrichment for the dogs I care for, ensuring they are mentally and physically stimulated to avoid any destructive behaviors from boredom. I am also a beginner to dog sports, something I am exploring the different forms of with my current dogs to see which sport they thrive in and enjoy. I am technically unemployed, meaning my routine can be adjusted to fit the needs of the dogs I am caring for. My usual routines are driving kids to and from school or taking them and our puppy on outdoor adventures (walking, fishing, swimming, etc) that would easily be able to include your own dog! We also recently lost our high needs senior dog last March, which has left us with a lot of extra time to love on another pup. It leaves a lot of flexibility for anyone with a wonky schedule or a 9-5 that needs care during normal working hours. I am currently a caregiver for my 7 year old epileptic brother who would be home outside of school and most weekdays during sitting, which means that any dogs I board should be comfortable with respectful kids. I also have a 2 year old friendly white pittie and small senior chihuahua mix that would give your dog someone to play with! If your dog does need to be the only dog, I would be able to sit rather than board at my own home for their comfort, as I am unable to offer boarding without my dogs being home. Outside of driving my brother to and from school or the occasional doctor's appointment, I am typically pretty available outside of my puppy's training schedule which I am able to adjust as needed. I offer enrichment, am able to crate, and have a long line on our patio with a plethora of toys from balls to a flirt pole for outdoor play. We also live in a complex with two built in dog parks that I use when empty, which I would be able to bring your dog to with or without my own. I am able to do training, enrichment, medication administration, meals, outdoor time, and provide walks as needed and to the degree your animal needs. I also have experience in caring for both ill and healthy exotic animals should you have any other pets in your home that need care.

I currently have one dog and two cats who are a huge part of my family, we love them dearly and treat all pets in our home the same way. About: My wife, son and I have taken care of pets our entire lives. Currently, we have only one elderly cat with special medical needs. Recently retired, we would love to adopt a dog but our frequent travel (to visit grandchildren) makes that a challenge. That travel helps us understand the stress and anxiety of leaving a pet in the care of others. We enjoy walking and playing with dogs (and cats!) and enjoy being in our yard, which opens to a field in the back, perfect for fetch. We will fill the day with a lot of activity and attention in a safe and secure environment. We are home full time and will have plenty of opportunity for walks, play time and potty breaks. During the school year, but my wife and I are home... and in summer months, our young-adult son will help as well. We have a spacious yard but it is not fenced so we would keep your dog on a long leash while outside. At night, we can easily crate, depending on the pet-parents preferences.

About: I trained my German Shepherd, Dakota, and taught him all 25 of the tricks that he knows! I have trained and lived with that 80lb pup with behavioral issues, so I am confident even with the biggest, craziest dogs! I have a soft spot for big dogs because of Dakota, but I also grew up with 3 Chihuahua mixes and a Border Collie which cemented my love for dogs of all sizes and temperaments! During the school year, I have college classes Monday through Thursday every week, but they are spread out if I needed to let any dogs out or take them for brisk walks in between! On the weekends, I don’t ever have a strict schedule. In the summer, my availability varies moreso by week! I let the animals warm up to me first before petting, picking up, or feeding, as to keep them as comfortable as possible. I love playing with cats and dogs indoors or outdoors. I have lived in Wheaton for my entire life, so I know the Wheaton area and all of its surrounding towns very well so I can take pets on longer or shorter walks as need be!

About: I've taken care of pets ever since I was a kid. When I was in high school, my family hosted dogs of all sizes, including one of my favorites, a Burnese Mountain Dog named Ruby. Lately I've had the chance to watch my brother's two dogs (as seen in my bio pics) when he travels. I work a semi-active full time job over the week, with plenty of energy to spare when I'm not working. I am fully available over the weekends from Friday evening straight through to Sunday! I also am free on weekdays for walks or drop-ins as long as it's before 7:30 am or after 5 pm. Your dog will stay in a cozy, smoke-free condo where they are welcome on the furniture and bed. While I don't have a yard, I love taking long, frequent walks around the neighborhood. For their comfort and safety, I host one family at a time and ask that owners provide the dog's preferred bed or crate if possible

“As soon as we had our meet and greet with Annika we knew our dogs would be in good hands. She and Grant provided a warm and welcoming home for our girls while we were out of town for nine days. They took them on walks in the park and played with our ball obsessed Sheltie. Thunder scares our dogs and Annika and Grant snuggled them through the storms. They sent pictures all the time and I was sure Sunny and Dolly were never going to want to come home! I can't make enough positive comments about the kindness and attention our girls were given by Annika and Grant.”
