So happy we found Barbara! Had the initial meet & greet which is a great thing to do. Our cats hadn’t long arrived in the US so were still settling into their new environment so Barbara bonded with them very quickly & we’re happy to see her everyday. Getting the photos and notes were nice to receive also. Would definitely have Barbara look after Stormzy & Nala again!

Thantita did an amazing job with Toby. I feel like because he’s dark and big he can scare people but he’s really just all looks. She was on the floor playing with him during the meet & greet and you could see he was relaxed around her. She also tended to my one cat that has tummy issues by feeding her canned food. She even added a little water to it to keep her hydrated. She sent really great pics every day too. We got stuck in a snow storm & had to come home a day later and she was there for us kindly continuing to watch our pets. 10/10 she’s fantastic!

About: I had experience taking care of dogs as a kid. I have been entrusted with checking in on, feeding, loving and caring for dogs of friends, neighbors, and family. I am confident in my ability to handle reactive or anxious dogs. I can read a dogs language (stress, aggression, excitement). I can maintain safety such as making sure the dog is leashed in a busy environment. I keep aware of hazards such as heat, and other dogs. I am on time, and understand what it means to be consistent for routines of dogs, provide clear communication and updates and respect client homes and instructions. I pay attention to detail such as changes in dog behavior, appetite or energy, signs of illness or injury, and owner preferences for routes and pace. I am patient and adaptable. Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine because I plan my schedule around the pets in my care. I make time for feeding, walks, playtime, bathroom breaks, and regular check-ins throughout the day to ensure pets stay comfortable and on their normal routine. I’m also mindful of providing attention, exercise, and a calm environment so they feel safe and cared for. On a weekly basis, I keep my schedule organized to accommodate bookings, communicate with pet owners, and maintain a clean, pet-friendly space. I also make sure I have flexibility for longer walks, or extra visits when needed. Reliability and consistency are important to me, so I prioritize being available and attentive to each pet’s individual needs. 1) My Home- Daily care: Feed according to the owner’s schedule and instructions Provide constant access to fresh water Maintain routines (walks, playtime, rest) Comfort & safety: Pet-proof your home (no toxic plants, cords, or open exits) Give them a dedicated space (crate, bed, or quiet room) Separate pets if needed to avoid stress or aggression Exercise & enrichment: Walk dogs regularly Provide toys, puzzles, and interaction Adjust activity based on age, breed, and energy level Hygiene: Clean up accidents immediately Scoop litter boxes daily Keep bedding and feeding areas clean 2) Clients Home- Follow instructions exactly: Stick to feeding times, portions, and diet Administer medications if required Respect house rules (furniture, access areas) Routine care: Walk dogs and allow bathroom breaks Clean litter boxes and cages Provide companionship and attention Home respect & security: Keep the home clean and tidy Lock doors/windows and follow security instructions Handle keys responsibly Communication: Send updates, photos, or videos Report any concerns immediately (health or behavior changes)

About: Not only have I had pets of my own my whole life, but I have done pet- and house-sitting for friends and family for years. I love caring for others' pets like they are my own, with diligent walks, feeding, and lots of play! I have experience with many types of animals too, including dogs, cats, and rodents. I have a full-time job, so I'm available during my lunch break to walk your pet, and my weekends and evenings are free to care for them! It's a joy for me to care for pets well, and I am happy to follow any guidelines you have to make sure you feel as comfortable as possible with me in your home.

About: We lost our cocker spaniel of 13 years about 2 years ago so I love to take care of dogs now that we don’t have a dog to pamper. We care for one dog at a time unless two dogs are siblings or good friends then that’s OK. I love to walk around Lake Ellyn Park nearby or just snuggle on the couch and chill with them. I realize how important your baby is to you and will give them love, companionship and special care. We love having a dog around. I’m retired and an empty nester so I am flexible and around all the time. I love to walk around Lake Ellyn Park and Glenbard West HS just down my street. We also like to sit on the front porch in the shade (gated) and watch the world go by. It’s a dead end street; so it’s very relaxed & chill. We are a few blocks from Main Street and town. We love hanging out in the back yard or the porch with our dog guests and take frequent walks.

About: Animals have always been a big part of my life, and I’ve spent years caring for family and friends’ dogs while also attending dog training classes to better understand their needs and behavior. As the proud owner of two very spoiled cats, I know how important it is to find someone you can trust, and I will care for your pets with the same love, attention, and reliability I give my own. I currently work full-time (9-5) which gives me flexibility to perform pet care before and after work, as well as the weekends! I have my own car so transportation is never a problem I am very comfortable caring for pets in the home and love to take dogs on walks. I have experience with most domesticated animals and am willing to learn how yours wants to be cared for.

About: Hi, I’m Fred, your local pack leader 🐕   My journey into canine care and training started during a difficult periods of my life. After suffering an injury in the summer of 2025, I spent several months in physical therapy with one goal in mind: being able to walk my dog, Ada, again.    Throughout my recovery, Ada never left my side. She watched me struggle through daily exercises, accompanied me on potty breaks while I was still on crutches, and gave me a reason to keep pushing forward. As I slowly regained my mobility, we started taking short walks around the block. That's when I realized that even a small pull on the leash could put my recovery at risk. My focus quickly shifted from simply getting back on my feet to becoming a better dog trainer.   What started as a few training sessions during our walks turned into a daily commitment. I taught Ada to walk calmly in a heel position, respond to a "slow" command for days when I needed to take things at an easier pace, and regularly check in with me throughout our walks.   The biggest lesson I learned wasn't about commands or techniques; it was about communication. Dogs pay attention to far more than we realize. If I became frustrated, Ada noticed. If I stayed calm and consistent, she responded. I learned to focus on rewarding the behaviors I wanted rather than dwelling on mistakes. The more I worked on myself as a leader, the more successful our training became.   Today, Ada and I are still learning together. The bond we've built through patience, trust, and consistency is unlike anything I've experienced with any other dog. She isn't just my best friend; she's the reason I discovered how rewarding it can be to help dogs and their owners build stronger relationships.   At Freddy Set Go Canine Care, every dog I work with receives the same patience, attention, and commitment that I give to Ada. Whether you need reliable canine care, help with basic obedience, or support working through behavioral challenges, my goal is simple: to help you build a stronger relationship with your dog and enjoy life together.   If my story resonates with you, I'd love the opportunity to learn more about you and your dog. Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Wheaton stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wheaton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Wheaton with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Wheaton. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
