“Ash was great! She was responsive and helped out extra with taking care of our fish. I didn’t get as many pictures with Ash as I have with other sitters, but thats just a personal preference. She was happy to send more photos once I asked. I would book with Ash again.”

“Dana did a great job with our girls who warmed up to her really quickly. We appreciated her sending us photos and giving us updates how they were doing. Thank you again Dana!”

“Catherine was incredible! I had a last minute business trip out of town and had been stressing about finding someone to watch my two cats. I'm so grateful Catherine was available and will definitely be using her again in the future. She followed directions and went above and beyond. Every day I got multiple pictures and updates on their eating habits, temperament, how play time went, etc. I could feel the love she showed my felines through the updates. My cats can be rather suspicious of new people but they warmed up to her quickly and within a day or two were waiting for her by the door. I think that really speaks to her skill with animals and how much respect and love she shows them. Will definitely be using her services in the future. Cannot recommend Catherine enough. 5 stars all day every day”

“Emily did a great job watching our dog while we were away for a few days. Our pup needed to be given medicine and to be walked and Emily did that as well as give her a lot of extra TLC! She communicated with us after each visit and sent us picture updates as well. We appreciate how much love Emily showed our dog and we highly recommend her!”

“Vivian is the BEST!!!!! She is a pleasure to work with, always gives updates, and provides amazing care for my furbabies!!! She really goes the extra mile. Highly highly recommend!!!!”

The safety and well being of their pets is my first priority.
“Leila was a big help. I booked her for last minute for multiple hours, and she didn’t bat an eye. She just asked where, when and what do you need from me? (In a good way). She completely exceeded expectations and I hope she is available to watch him again in the future!”

“So happy we found Barbara! Had the initial meet & greet which is a great thing to do. Our cats hadn’t long arrived in the US so were still settling into their new environment so Barbara bonded with them very quickly & we’re happy to see her everyday. Getting the photos and notes were nice to receive also. Would definitely have Barbara look after Stormzy & Nala again!”

Joan took wonderful care of our cats while we were away and gave us so much peace of mind. She was reliable, communicative, and clearly cared about making sure they were comfortable and well looked after. We loved getting updates and could tell our cats were happy and relaxed with her. We’d absolutely trust her to watch them again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and dependable sitter!

Victoria was awesome with our 2 cats! She took great care of them and followed our directions precisely. She even helped problem-solve an issue with the automatic feeder to ensure they would be okay after she left. My shy cat seemed very comfortable with her. I would absolutely book with her again. Thanks so much for taking such great care of them!

I am so grateful that Kristen was able to care for my cat Sylvester last minute. She took great care of him and he looked very happy and comfortable with her in the pictures. Kirsten has great communication and I felt comfortable and safe having her in my home. I recommend her and would book with her again!

Alex took wonderful care of our two cats while we were on a two week trip. She dropped in once a day and even volunteered to check in a few extra times to put medicine on our cat that had a skin sore. Alex is great at communicating and sent lots of pictures. I would highly recommend Alex. She does an excellent job!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Wheaton. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
