About: I worked at a dog kennel/police dog training facility over the summers as a teen so I'm familiar with many different dog breeds. I also grew up with 4 hunting dogs, so I understand high energy dogs and their need to go for walks (or runs!) I'm currently a teacher on summer break so I have plenty of time on weekdays to take your pup on a long walk or play with your cats! I am happy to care your furry friends any way that works best for them and their routine within a safe and familiar environment, giving you peace of mind while you're away.
“Annika is so wonderful! I could not have asked for better care for my girl. I’m so thankful for her help and I know Wink was happy to see her everyday!”

“Samantha did a terrific job watching my dog. Gave good updates and lots of pictures for the whole house visit. Would recommend and will book with her again in the future.”

“Kate has been amazing with taking care of Pandora! She’s patient, caring, and very dependable. Kate gives very detailed notes and we always feel like Pandora is getting top tier care! Thank you Kate!”

“Vivian gave me peace of mind while I was on vacation by taking care of my pup when my husband was at work. She played with our pup in our backyard, made sure he had fresh water, and took lots of cute photos. I would definitely book her again!”

“Victoria has been a reliable cat sitter, they obviously love her which is very reassuring when we have to leave town. She’s flexible with changes in plan which we really appreciate too”

About: I’ve had dogs in my life since I was 6 years old, and I’ve cared for 6 dogs over the years. My first dog was a Golden Retriever named Rambo ❤️ I currently have 2 dogs Buddy and Duke that stay with my mom. I’ve also had experience with senior dogs, including helping dogs with hip problems and adjusting their care as they got older. I truly enjoy spending time with dogs and understanding their personalities, whether they want to play, go for walks, or just relax and have some company. My main job is part-time, which gives me flexible availability throughout the week. I’m generally available on weekdays, especially during mornings and afternoons, and can often accommodate a variety of scheduling needs. I always follow the owner’s instructions and respect each pet’s routine to help them feel comfortable and safe. I make sure pets have plenty of attention, fresh water, exercise, and a clean environment. Their safety and well-being are my top priorities, and I’ll treat them with the same care and respect I would give my own pets.
“We were so thankful to Kristen for scheduling a drop-in visit on very short notice. She checked in with us and sent great photos letting us know our doggies were well cared for. We will definitely reach out to Kristen in the future for pet sitting needs.”

“Paula was great with our 2 pups. She did a meet and greet beforehand which was so nice! She was fantastic with them and brought over games to help engage them during her visits. The picture and notes after each visit were detailed and made us feel better about leaving our pups home knowing they were well taken care of.”

About: I've been a full time veterinary assistant for 5 years now. I've loved animals since I was a child. I pet sit friends and family pets. I work really close to my apartment. I am able to take care of your pet before and after work. I can stop by my apartment on my lunch break and take care of your pet, if needed. I do not work on weekends. My apartment has a dog park, but I do like going on long walks. Play time is essential. Giving treats as a reward for training.
About: For 5 years, I’ve cared for pets in my community walking, feeding, bathing, and giving them consistent love and attention. I’m reliable, gentle, and make sure each pet feels safe and comfortable. Pet care easily fits into my weekly routine because I’m very consistent with my schedule. I make time every day for walks, feeding, and check-ins, and I love being active, so spending time with pets naturally fits into my day. In a client’s home, I stick to the pet’s normal schedule feeding, walking, bathroom breaks, and playtime. I take extra care to keep the home clean, give lots of love, and make sure the pet feels safe and comfortable. I also send regular pictures and updates.
“Rover to the rescue when our dog sitter couldn't watch our crazy dogs for our trip. Brian was reliable and loving to our rescue dogs. We have 3 dogs with unique personalities and quirks, and he had no problem navigating that! Great communication, lots of pictures. We recommend Brian!”

About: I am a high-energy individual who loves all types of dogs! Rover is my first "official" platform, but I have been pet-sitting and caring for dogs since I was young. As I got older, I gained more responsibility and more training with the family dog. I have had a lot of experience with adopted dogs, young and old, and promise to provide the best care while you are away. My parent's current dog that I care for often also has given me experience with regular medication/monitoring health concerns while also providing superior care. If your dog loves to play outside, go for a run, soak in the sun and play tug of war (but also sneak a nap in too), I am your pet-sitter! I am currently a fitness coach that works non-normal hours, so I can spend time with your furry baby during the day! I can also stay long hours overnight if needed to keep your pet relaxed while you are away. Depending on the day, your pet could be alone for 4-8 hours a day with me. I will care for the pet's health concerns (including medication), make sure they have ample time outside (weather dependent) for potty time and exercise, and will care for their physical health if requested (ie brush coat or give bath). I will ask about how they interact with other dogs, people, animals so I can protect your pet and keep them safe.
About: - I have lots of experience caring for animals and absolutely love spending time with them. - I volunteer at animal shelters, so I’ve had the chance to work with both cats and dogs and learn how to care for all kinds of personalities. -Animals have always come naturally to me, and I usually bond with them really quickly. I love getting to know each pet’s unique personality. -I’ve learned that every pet is different, and I always take the time to make them feel comfortable, safe, and loved. -Whether your pet is super playful, shy, or just wants extra cuddles, I’m happy to adjust to what they need. - I treat every pet like they’re my own and always make sure they get plenty of attention, care, and love. It’s currently summer, so I’m free basically every day and have a very flexible schedule. I’m able to provide care throughout the week and adjust as needed. On Saturdays and Sundays, I work part time as a pizza worker for about 4 hours, but I can still be available before or after my shifts depending on the timing. The rest of the week I have full availability for pet care and walks. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I always follow their routine as closely as possible so the pet feels comfortable and safe. I make sure they are fed on time, have fresh water, get plenty of attention, and are walked or played with depending on their needs. I pay close attention to their behavior so I can notice if anything seems off. I also make sure the home stays clean and everything is left how I found it. Most importantly, I treat every pet with patience, care, and respect as if they were my own.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Carol Stream
Heather did an amazing job watching my two cats while my girlfriend and I were out of town for about a week. She did great providing updates and giving them anything they might have needed during the time she was taking care of them and I would recommend her to anyone who needs a sitter for their cats.

Kate was amazing taking care of our kitty and made fast friends with him. She is very reliable and responsible in all aspects of cat care. She sent us lot of great pictures and let us know how he was doing each day. We were happy our kitty was in a such good hands. We will definitely be using Kate again. :-)

Grace is kind, calm, reliable, and communicative. She took the time to play with our cat during every visit, took care of the litter boxes and feedings, and handled some other household things while we were away for the week. Cinnamon quickly came out of her shell and administered many a biscuit and cuddle :D

I am so grateful that Kristen was able to care for my cat Sylvester last minute. She took great care of him and he looked very happy and comfortable with her in the pictures. Kirsten has great communication and I felt comfortable and safe having her in my home. I recommend her and would book with her again!

Edgar and his kids did such a great job taking care of my cat Jake that even though he’s so shy with people he started to feel comfortable and safe with them within a few days. He always had plenty of food and water and Edgar was communicative and sent pictures everyday and text messages everyday. I highly recommend him and his kids. Thank you for taking care of my baby so well!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Carol Stream. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
