“Elise did a great job watching our dog for a week while we were on vacation. She sent photos and let us know how he was doing. We felt very comfortable, knowing that he was in great hands. I’d definitely recommend having Elise watch your pet!”

“This is the second time my pup has stayed with her and we love her! My dog is sad the whole car ride home because she doesn’t want to leave. She makes sure to send videos and pics with updates to let you know your pup is doing ok. She’s so flexible if adjustments are needed. Has definitely become our top rover choice for boarding!”

“Courtney B is the most outstanding dog sitter ever. And, it’s a family affair. Her husband picks up and drops off and her kids love on your pet all weekend long. We choose them first every time!”

“Pennie was terrific! She took wonderful care of Henry, and kept me posted with pictures and texts. I think my Henry was sad to leave. I will definitely be using Pennie again.”

“Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of Tintin while I was away. Knowing that they were in your hands gave me complete peace of mind and allowed me to enjoy a truly worry-free vacation. I really appreciate the updates, the kindness, and the attention you gave—it’s clear you treat pets like family. My dog came home happy, relaxed, and clearly well-loved. I couldn’t have asked for a better caregiver. I would happily recommend you to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, responsible, and genuinely caring. Thank you again for everything!”

“Traci was wonderful! She took amazing care of my 8 month-old Bernese mountain dog, who can be a handful! Her family and dog Charlie were great with her. She kept me updated with adorable pictures daily. My mind was totally at ease during our hectic week. Thank you so much Traci! We will be back :)”

“Penny, Michael and the kids took great care of my bulldog Maeby for a few days over the holidays. They were great about sending photos and updates, and very accommodating to last minute changes we had with the pickup. My dog seems very well rested and happy! Next time I need a dog sitter I’ll be sure to contact Penny & Michael again.”

“Highly recommend Zhiyang S for pet sitting! She was professional, attentive, and treated my dog Peggy with so much care. I especially loved the photo updates she sent—it was so reassuring to see Peggy doing well while I was away. I'm very satisfied with the experience and will definitely be a returning client. 5 stars!"”

“Mark was so great with our dog, Kenny. He kept Kenny on schedule and made him feel right at home - he had a bed set up for him. Mark took Kenny on daily walks, which I know our dog enjoys. He kept us updated daily with pictures. Highly recommend!”

“This is the second time Linda has watched my pups and they always have a great time with her. She is very quick to respond & sends updates frequently. I will continue to use Linda to watch my pups whenever I can. They always come back happy and sleepy from all the playtime and walks. Thanks again! :)”

“Absolutely wonderful. I honestly cannot say enough nice things about Peg. Our dog, who will not eat if she’s nervous or upset, ate just fine with Peg. Her dog Mila is chill and adapts well to a dog guest. She sent us texts and photos to update us. She’s a lovely person who is also great with dogs. You can’t ask for more in a dog sitter.”

“Lynda took care of my dog, Beamer, for a couple of days. This was the first time I had to leave her with someone and I was so worried because she has separation anxiety. Linda sent me pictures and I could see that Beamer was very comfortable in her new surroundings. In fact, I was a little hurt because the dog was doing so well she didn’t seem to miss me one bit! I was so relieved and am very happy that, when I have to go somewhere without her, she is in good hands!”

About: I have been a dog owner for the past 16 years (3 dogs over this time), and currently have a very dog-friendly Bichon frise who is used to playing with dogs of all sizes (her favorites are her size or somewhat larger). My two previous dogs (both Shih tzus) lived to 16 and 14 years, so I am well aware of how to care for more senior dogs. I have a great neighborhood and am happy to walk your dogs with mine. While I have only owned small dogs, I love all kinds of dogs and am happy to welcome yours into my home. I am happy to work with pet owners on any special routines, including sleep, medication and feeding (I have plenty of room in my refrigerator for any special food your dog might require). I currently work from home, so I have plenty of time to care for your dogs (frequent potty breaks, walks as desired, etc.). Occasionally I will have to leave to run errands or meet with clients, but I am rarely gone for more than 2-3 hours. Days that I anticipate being away for more than 3 hours are marked as unavailable on my calendar. I have a fenced yard and a friendly Bichon frise to keep your dogs company. While I prefer crate-trained dogs for times I need to be away briefly, I will welcome your dogs to roam about the house and yard when I am at home. I do have several spare crates for smaller dogs, although I have plenty of space for you to bring yours. I am happy to work with each individual dog owner regarding overnight routines.
“We are so happy with the care and attention that Valerie provided. We received regular updates and videos, and I could tell from her pictures that our dog was at ease and well cared for. Our dog is fifteen so we always worry about leaving her with a kennel where she will be crated most of the day. With Valerie, she was free to roam, got plenty of outside breaks, and got all the good food she was used to. Thank you for taking care of our girl!”
“We boarded our dog with Brittany for four nights and I can’t say enough good things about her and her family! Our dog is very shy and tends not to eat much when in unfamiliar environments, but Brittany did a great job of making him feel as ‘at home’ as possible, and was very patient with feeding attempts. She also was very proactive in sending updates and pictures (at least a couple times per day), and was very responsive when we reached out. I highly recommend Brittany for any dog sitting needs and will board with her again for sure.”

“One again, Bibi took fantastic care of my pup! She treated her to a fun filled day at the beach, and Winnie was one tired and happy pup when I picked her up. I couldn't recommend Bibi enough.”

The median cost per night for pet boarding in Naperville is $50
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Naperville
We’ve had Mike watch our high-energy Husky, Rambo, several times, and this time he took care of him for nearly two weeks while we were out of town. Since it was an extended trip, we trusted Mike to make sure Rambo was well taken care of, and he did a great job. Mike kept us updated with pictures, videos, and messages throughout our trip, which gave us peace of mind and allowed us to enjoy our vacation knowing Rambo was in good hands. It was obvious Rambo was getting plenty of attention and was well cared for. Mike has been great every time we’ve used him, and Rambo is always happy to see him. We highly recommend Mike to anyone looking for a reliable, trustworthy, and caring dog sitter.

Glen was awesome in caring for our 14 yr old lab. Our pup is sensitive and doesn’t easily adjust to new routines or new people. Glen stayed overnight, made sure his routine was kept and when our pup had an accident he even cleaned it up neatly. Would definitely continue with him.

This was our second time using Lindsay - 5 stars again! She is the sweetest and takes such wonderful care of our dog. Lots of walks and daily pics & videos! Our dog usually only likes being with us - but he was SO excited when he recognized where he was again! Highly recommend :)

I highly recommend Aziza - She took such wonderful care of my dog while I was away. From the very beginning, communication was clear and reassuring — I received regular updates, photos, and even little notes about how my dog was doing each day. It gave me such peace of mind knowing my dog was not only safe, but also genuinely happy and loved. When he came home, my dog was relaxed, well-exercised, and clearly adored their time with Aziza. It’s so rare to find someone this reliable, attentive, and caring. I will definitely be booking again — and so grateful to have found someone I can fully trust with my furry family member!

Lauren is Ocho’s favorite sitter and my most trusted person with my dog. This weekend we have to leave the town and Ocho is still recovering from a bad diarrhea. Although I brought Ocho to the vets and got labs and medication, he was not in good shape when I had to drop him off at Lauren’s. Lauren did above and beyond, took care of Ocho as if he were their own. I received updates every day and was so relieved that Ocho’s condition improved daily. Thanks, Lauren, for your extra kindness and efforts! We appreciate your help LOTS!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
