“Tammy was amazing! Our dog loved hanging with her sweet and playful dog, Bugsy, and lounging with her cats. We got daily updates which helped us feel relaxed while we were away. We will definitely use her in the future. Thank you for everything!!”

“Katie took such amazing care of my pup Max! She sent me daily photos and videos and even gave my little guy a ‘report card’ and treats when I picked him up! I could rule tell she cared very well for him while he was with her and I will book again in the future for sure! Thank you Katie for making Max’s stay so great!!”
“As usual a great service! they helps us a lot. This time we use their boarding service because my wife was going to give birth. They were as always extremely kind and understanding with Lucas and Max's delivery and pick up times.”

About: ** I took some time off of Rover and I am back with a limited schedule due to work hours** I am an avid dog lover and dog mom to 2 pups. Most of my life has revolved around dogs and I wouldn’t want it any other way! At a young age, I was trusted by all of the nieghbors to dog sit. After college, I was fortunate enough to foster a few rescues from a local humane society. Fostering dogs was a very rewarding experience as it gave me my 2 babies, Milo and Bear. Unfortunately, Bear and Milo have now passed and I miss them terribly everyday. I currently have a Doberman named Ambrose and an Australian Shepard named Max. They are a bonded pair and have so much energy! I have experience with very large dogs and puppies as young as 2 months old— but I am comfortable with all breeds! I am available for dog walking, house sitting, and drop-in visits. If you would like me to board your dog in my home, I welcome that as well! As long as they are dog friendly; my pups would love a new friend 😊 During the day on weekdays I work a full-time hybird job with flexibility. My in office days are Monday and Tuesday so usually unavailable those days. I am free for walks/drop ins during the week/weekend as well as house sitting. I am a very active person alone and with my own dogs. They get walks 1-2x per day and get lots of exercise in our backyard. I would love to hang out with your pup and play! I will come to you to make them feel more comfortable in their own environment.
“Mocha loves her staycation at Erin’s place as always ❤️ she even seems a little sad when we left ! We received tonnes of photos and videos during our trip which makes us feel so happy and glad that Mocha is having her best time with Erin’s care.”

“Julie and her family are amazing!!! This is the second time they have watched my LuLu. LuLu loves her whole family as if it was her second home. They take excellent care of her, send me daily updates along with pics🤗 I am SO happy I found her and her beautiful family through Rover.com I HIGHLY recommend Julie🤗🤗🤗”
“Soukaina took amazing care of our Mochi. She sent us videos and photos every day during the 10 days he was in her care. I could tell just from the photos that he was well-loved during his stay with her and her family. I think he may have gained weight as well - which is very special because he typically does not eat well when we are away. She even took the time to give him a bath so he was fresh for his return back to us. Thank you Soukaina!”

“Kimberly was WONDERFUL! She was so sweet to our dogs, sent us communication throughout the stay and was just a very kind person. Max and Muffin had a wonderful time and we will definitely be using her services again. Just a note, our dog Muffin is 17, blind and going deaf and she took wonderful care of her. Her family also loved on our dogs which was so comforting to know as well. Thank you so much!!!”

“Hey pet parents, have I got a recommendation for you! Kristine and her daughter stepped up last minute to take care of my furry friend, and let me tell you, they were amazing. Not only did Kristine provide regular updates and photos, but her daughter even taught my dog some new tricks. Talk about going above and beyond! If you're looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter, I can confidently say that Kristine is the one to call. Don't stress about leaving your pup behind, trust me, they'll be in good hands with Kristine. So go ahead and give her a shout, you won't regret it!”

“My multipoo stayed with Eric over the weekend. Eric sent a photo daily and was always quick to respond to questions. My dog returned home healthy and happy. I highly recommend Eric for boarding! Jan”

About: Hello! We absolutely love all dogs. We have a beautiful 4 year old Weimaraner who we came into our life as a pup. We also have had two prior to her. We are comfortable with all aged dogs from the feisty puppies to the more quiet seniors. We have lots of experience with young puppies, senior dogs who need medication (oral pills or otherwise), and shy or energetic dogs. Linda even worked as a Vet Tech in high school and was a dog walker in college. We both are retired and love to sit outside with our dog and go for walks. As a visitor to our home, we are open to whatever method you employ for your dog’s safety. We have experience with crate training and are happy to continue those practices if you wish. Otherwise, your dog is free to roam our fenced yard and home. We are both retired, so have lots of time for your pup. Our dog always gets to go out whenever she wants. So will yours. We usually walk our dog in the morning afternoon and evening. If your dog is up to that, we will have her join us. We have a fenced in yard for the dogs to enjoy whenever they want. Our house is very dog friendly. Our dogs are allowed on the furniture. We do not leave any food out and have a dog proof garbage can too.
“I highly recommend Ashley - Our 7mo old lab puppy had never been through the dog sitting process. Ashley and her family were wonderful and accepting of our dog-in-training. They gave us valuable feedback and guidance as we continue our puppy training. They did a great job of playing and truly welcomed our fur baby into their home.”

“Our dogs came home happy and clearly enjoyed every minute of their stay with you. Thank you so much for taking such excellent care of our fur babies. We really appreciate the wonderful attention and love you gave them.”

“Pat went above and beyond to care for our senior pup who is prone to some anxiety. She took care of our dog as if she were her own. She provided lots of updates and pictures and we knew that our girl was in very good hands. Pat has a nice, big and fenced-in backyard which we know our dog enjoyed exploring. Communication was quick and easy from the meet and greet through the entire visit. We’d highly recommend her to anyone looking for a pet sitter!”

“Robyn went well out of her way to make me feel comfortable about leaving my dog with her for the first time. She emailed me videos almost every hour showing me how well my dog was adjusting and her interactions with the other pet boarders. She truly loves what she does and is a caring compassionate pet-owner. She understands dogs very well, which made me feel confident in leaving my very anxious Yorkie-Poo with her.”

“Hannah was wonderful! We tend to get nervous leaving our dog because she’s family. Hannah made us feel so good and we knew our dog was safe. She sent many updates and pictures without needing to be asked. She is really flexible and accommodating. She also followed all the instructions we sent. We would recommend Hannah to anyone needing a sitter and will 100% keep her first on our list when we need a sitter again!”

“Jackie was so wonderful and very communicative. She sent multiple photos every day and my puppy was clearly super happy! My dog went on multiple walks per day and came home happy, healthy, and loved ❤️”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Aurora
We had a great experience with Vanessa! We reached out to her for a last-minute booking after our regular pet sitter became sick right before our overseas trip. Hazel, our Basset Hound, was very well cared for, and Vanessa kept us updated with messages and photos throughout her stay. We could tell that Hazel was having a great time and was receiving excellent care. We highly recommend Vanessa and would definitely book with her again in the future. Thank you, Vanessa for taking such wonderful care of Hazel!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
