“Penny was amazing! I left my pup, Ginger, with her for 2 weeks while we were out of country. Penny sent pictures of Ginger and made sure she had plenty of activity. I even noticed that Ginger had lost a few pounds that she needed to lose! I would highly recommend Penny!”

“Christina took care of our 5 month old puppy, Mocha, and gave us the best updates while we were out of town :) We’re very grateful to have found a home where Mocha is taken care of and has another dog to play with! Definitely would recommend Christina to anyone we know.”

“Patricia took amazing care of Zoey. She was great with sending us video and photo updates which gave us peace of mind. I highly recommend Patricia and look forward to having her watch Zoey again.”

About: I started dog sittng in college for my professors and quickly grew to love it. I've gained experience walking, feeding, and caring for dogs, and I bring these skills to my own pets as well. I'm excited to provide the same care and attention to your dog while you're away. I work from home, so my schedule is flexible and I can accomodate your need. I also offer pickup and drop-off services for a small fee. I have a fenced yard providing a secured space for your dog to play and relax. I also have a senior male Australian Shedperd who loves to play with other dogs, so your pet will have a friendly companion during the stay.
“Sarah was excellent! She sent us photos and updates of our dog Gus while we were out of the country for two weeks. She was understanding and able to care for our senior dog with special needs. Would highly recommend!”

“Kelly and Tariq were awesome! I received regular updates which put me at ease since this was the longest I had left my pup with anyone. Definitely will book with them again.”

“Keith was great with our dog Archer! He bonded with him very quickly, sent frequent updates, and streamlined the drop off and pickup process for us. Professional & friendly - highly recommended”

“I trusted Wayne with my two beloved bostons and he did not disappoint! He took really good care of them, kept me updated with photos, and my pups looked at home. Will definitely book him again!”

“Katy was sooooo good to our little Moose. This was the first time we boarded Moose, so we set up a meet and greet beforehand and felt very comfortable leaving him with her and her son for the weekend. It turns on Moose went on a vacation of his own. We got the cutest pics which brought a smile to our hearts. Pick and drop off were easy. She let us bring his bed and his fort. Thanks, Katy, for being so good to our little boy.”

“Our dog loved her stay with Tyler and family! They were so welcoming and Brady had a great space to run and make friends!! She was so well cared for and was treated like part of the family! We will definitely rebook when we are visiting Chicago!”

About: Hello! We absolutely love all dogs. We have a beautiful 4 year old Weimaraner who we came into our life as a pup. We also have had two prior to her. We are comfortable with all aged dogs from the feisty puppies to the more quiet seniors. We have lots of experience with young puppies, senior dogs who need medication (oral pills or otherwise), and shy or energetic dogs. Linda even worked as a Vet Tech in high school and was a dog walker in college. We both are retired and love to sit outside with our dog and go for walks. As a visitor to our home, we are open to whatever method you employ for your dog’s safety. We have experience with crate training and are happy to continue those practices if you wish. Otherwise, your dog is free to roam our fenced yard and home. We are both retired, so have lots of time for your pup. Our dog always gets to go out whenever she wants. So will yours. We usually walk our dog in the morning afternoon and evening. If your dog is up to that, we will have her join us. We have a fenced in yard for the dogs to enjoy whenever they want. Our house is very dog friendly. Our dogs are allowed on the furniture. We do not leave any food out and have a dog proof garbage can too.
“I felt completely comfortable leaving my cat with Natalie, and she took great care of Niki. She was very responsive, provided updates, and made sure all of Niki's needs were met. It was clear that Niki was in good hands. I hope to have the opportunity to use Natalie again in the future!”

“Ingrida is a great sitter. Our dog is always well taken care of when we go on trips and she is very accommodating. I can't express how grateful I am for her services.”
“This is the second time my dog Bobbi stays with Jamie & Ritz and Toffee, everything was excellent and sweet! There will definitely be more stays in the future. Highly recommend again!”

“Kathy is so wonderful! She took care of Kit last minute this weekend and Kit had a super fun time! Kit has stayed with Kathy before and literally was dancing at the door when I told her she was going back! I never worry at all about Kit when she stays with Kathy because she takes great care of her and gives me frequent updates with photos which I love! If you choose Kathy you won’t be disappointed!”

“Highly recommend Zhiyang S for pet sitting! She was professional, attentive, and treated my dog Peggy with so much care. I especially loved the photo updates she sent—it was so reassuring to see Peggy doing well while I was away. I'm very satisfied with the experience and will definitely be a returning client. 5 stars!"”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Winfield
It was so nice having Karen watch my dog, Libby. I really appreciated that she took the time to learn about Libby’s personality and did her best to keep her routine fun and as close to home as possible. Karen was kind, caring, and communicative throughout the stay, which gave me peace of mind. She was also very flexible with both dropoff and pickup times, and I really appreciated that. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again!

Sheila truly loves the dogs she watches! While she was watching my German shepherd someone was shooting off fireworks nearby. She let him lay on her so he could stay clam, he is over 100lbs! Will definitely book with her again, I could see through the pictures she sent that he had a blast and was very comfortable with her!

Christine took amazing care of our dog Simon! She went above and beyond to make sure he was given lots of love, and was energized with daily walks and enrichment. She was very attentive to his needs and sent regular updates, putting our minds at ease to know he was in good hands and well cared for throughout his stay. Christine was the absolute best!

We had a great experience with Paige! She was wonderfully communicative, sending us regular updates and photos so we knew our pup was happy and cared for. She was also super flexible when we were running ahead of schedule, allowing us to pick him up early. Her responsiveness and kindness made the whole process stress-free. We’d definitely use her again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
