For my dog (Maud) I keep a consistent schedule (including food, waking/bed times, and training) throughout the day, regardless of whether it's a weekend or weekday. Exercise is essential, if weather allows we go on long walk around the neighborhood. If weather limits our outside time we play treat-hunting games around the house.

I have a fenced backyard and my gates are kept locked. I've removed or fenced off any plants that my dog has tried to eat. Crates are welcome if your dog is crate trained. I also have 2 dog gates, and an extra bedroom so I can separate any pups if needed if I'm out of the house. I always use a gate to ensure dogs have separate eating areas. I also have a door buddies for the basement door. Prior to your visit we can discuss your dog's needs and figure out what would work best for you and your dog based on his/her needs.

Information Elise G. would like to know about your pet
I will board dogs from separate households if their overlap in boarding is 24 hours or less, and only if I know both dogs and trust them. Otherwise, I only accept clients from one household. Please let me know if your dog has any anxieties (e.g. fireworks), allergies, non-dog toy items they may chew so I can make sure they're safe and comfortable.
A typical day
I have a hybrid work schedule, including many online meetings so I prefer not to do pickups/drop offs between 7am-4pm on workdays. I occasionally go into work for a few hours, but guarantee that dogs will not go over 5 hours without a potty break. I have a great neighborhood for dog walking. Also, if your dog would enjoy going to a dog park, I have a pass for the Dupage County dog parks, and it's a great area for getting energy out.

Pet care experience
For the past year friends of mine have asked me to care for their dogs while traveling. My dog and I have enjoyed it so much, that we'd like to have more visitors! To me, excellent care requires seeing life from the dog's perspective. I "listen" and respond to each pup's body language so they can be their best, happiest selves. Over the years, I've relied on my veterinarian, dog trainers, and books to get the best advice. I want any dog in my home to be comfortable, happy, and confident.
Reviews

I’m so glad to have met Elise. She is so caring and I know that my dog is very comfortable and enjoys her visits.

Friley had such a great time at Elise’s house and playing with Maud. He was so tired when we brought him back home. Elise is very attentive and always let us know how Friley is doing. She is so good with dogs! Thank you for watching him!

Elise took Champ on long walks and let him play out in her large fenced in yard. We came home to a happy boy. Thanks Elise!

Crew had another great visit with Elise and Maud. Thanks for taking such good care of Crew, for sending us pictures and updates and for being flexible with the pick-up time.
