“Viri and her family were great! She accommodated my last minute booking during the holidays! She did an excellent job, was flexible, updated with pictures and my dog seemed to enjoy himself.”

“We boarded our 2 little guys with Rosarin for several nights and could tell they were very well cared for. We got updates via the app on their days felt relieved they were in excellent care. Would highly recommend!”

“From the meet and greet, Vanessa made a great impression on me and my princess. Sophie ran right up to her with her tail wagging which was a great sign for me. She was experienced in the questions she asked and was very personable. During our trip, I would receive pictures and updates which was very comforting. I would recommend Vanessa and will keep her in mind for future needs!”

“Marko and his family were excellent host to Nala. He provided daily updates with photos and videos and really made her feel like a part of the family. He was quick to respond to the request to dog sit and I will definitely leave Nala with him in the future. Thank you Marko for welcoming Nala into your home.”

About: Hi, I'm Rowan! I provide specialized pet care for cats and dogs based on their unique needs! I offer boarding, house sitting, drop in visits, daycare, and dog walking. Does your pet need a lot of attention? Cuddles? Quiet time? Medication or monitoring? Whether your pet is energetic, elderly, or has special needs, I'm trained and equipped to make sure they get exactly what they need. I guarantee personalized pet care exceeding industry standards, quick and clear communication, and a positive experience for you and your furry family. My experience: I have several years of professional experience working at luxury dog daycare and boarding facilities. In these roles, I provided around the clock animal care, administered medications, provided special services for senior and disabled dogs, and more. I've also volunteered hundreds of hours as an animal care attendant and dog walker at animal shelters and non-profits like Tails. In addition to this, I have a lifetime of personal experience caring for cats and dogs for friends, colleagues, and neighbors! About me: I'm currently finishing my final semester (virtually) as a graduate student in cultural anthropology. During my BA program in environmental studies, I took multiple classes on animal behavior and animal ethics, so caring for animals is a long term passion of mine! Outside of that, I love painting, doing ceramics, and reading sci-fi novels. :) I'm currently a graduate student in cultural anthropology finishing my final semester virtually. My schedule is extremely flexible and I'm able to respond quickly to whatever you or your pet need! For boarding: I live in a small apartment next to a big park where your pup can get plenty of outside time. I'm happy to play, cuddle, give space, go for walks, or provide anything else your pet needs. Due to the size of my apartment, quiet dogs are preferred. For House sitting: When in your home, I'll follow all your instructions exactly and provide prompt communication. I'm also happy to send regular updates with pictures of your pet. :)
“We are so happy with the care and attention that Valerie provided. We received regular updates and videos, and I could tell from her pictures that our dog was at ease and well cared for. Our dog is fifteen so we always worry about leaving her with a kennel where she will be crated most of the day. With Valerie, she was free to roam, got plenty of outside breaks, and got all the good food she was used to. Thank you for taking care of our girl!”

“Lizzie took exceptional care of my dog for five days, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. El is a sensitive dog who needs time to warm up to new people, but Lizzie was incredibly patient, understanding, and attentive from the very beginning. She took the time to earn El's trust and made sure she felt comfortable and safe throughout stay. What I appreciated most was Lizzie's communication. Lizzie sent photos every day and provided regular updates on how El was doing, which gave me tremendous peace of mind while I was away. It was clear from the updates that she genuinely cared about El's well-being and was paying close attention to El's needs. When I picked El up, she looked happy, relaxed, and well cared for. It's not easy to find someone who can connect with a sensitive dog, but Lizzie did an amazing job. I would absolutely trust her with El again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, compassionate, and professional pet sitter.”

“Jackie and her family took such wonderful care of our two pups, who are always so anxious to be away from home. They came back to us happy, healthy, and maybe just a little disappointed that they had to leave their new friends. Highly recommend Jackie!”

“Felicia did a great job with Wrigley! She kept me informed and sent pictures throughout the week. Would highly recommend Felicia and will definitely be contacting her again.”

“We feel so lucky that we found Janet! Our dog was not a fit for commercial boarding and doggie daycamps - it was just too overwhelming and loud for her. But, she took to Janet and her family very quickly and always comes home happy, well cared for, and tired out from plenty of playtime. She's the best!”
“Pat went above and beyond to care for our senior pup who is prone to some anxiety. She took care of our dog as if she were her own. She provided lots of updates and pictures and we knew that our girl was in very good hands. Pat has a nice, big and fenced-in backyard which we know our dog enjoyed exploring. Communication was quick and easy from the meet and greet through the entire visit. We’d highly recommend her to anyone looking for a pet sitter!”

“Pennie was wonderful. I had never left my golden retriever with anyone. Pennie kept in touch and sent a lot of pictures showing Abbey was doing well. I can tell she was well cared for. I will definitely use Pennie again.”

“Kimberly is a very good communicator-- promptly responds, sends photos, etc. She was easy-going and flexible when my timing for pick up had to change-- much appreciated! She is a DOG PERSON - loves dogs!”

“I have used Erin twice now for boarding my dog, Maverick. She is so kind and really cares for animals and treats them like they are all her own. My dog is very high energy and needs a lot of exercise and playtime. Erin takes them out and really gives them so much exercise and mental stimulation. She has a lot of experience with all dog breeds and all ages. Maverick has so much fun while with Erin and he gets the socialization he needs with other dogs. I know he is in good hands with Erin and I am so happy I found her. Thanks for all you do, Erin! 🫶🏼”

“Hey pet parents, have I got a recommendation for you! Kristine and her daughter stepped up last minute to take care of my furry friend, and let me tell you, they were amazing. Not only did Kristine provide regular updates and photos, but her daughter even taught my dog some new tricks. Talk about going above and beyond! If you're looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter, I can confidently say that Kristine is the one to call. Don't stress about leaving your pup behind, trust me, they'll be in good hands with Kristine. So go ahead and give her a shout, you won't regret it!”

“Our dogs came home happy and clearly enjoyed every minute of their stay with you. Thank you so much for taking such excellent care of our fur babies. We really appreciate the wonderful attention and love you gave them.”

“Kimberly and her family were great! They were easy to work with and took great care of our dog. Kimberly kept us updated with daily pictures and text messages throughout our dog’s stay. From the meet and greet through the booking, it was an overwhelmingly positive experience. I would recommend Kimberly and plan to use her again for future bookings.”

“Cai LOVES staying with Kendall and her sweet family. As we were pulling up, I ran into her and her husband, who had just come back from Jewel with femur bones for the pups! Cai came home exhausted and happy, and Kendall kept me updated with photos and anecdotes about Cai loving on her 2 year old, and all of her adventures for the day. Cai loves staying with you guys - thank you so much for taking such good care of my baby while I was away.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
