“Rabia and her family did an excellent job of taking care of Archie, my golden retriever. They are so caring and loving! Rabia was very accommodating to a last minute change in schedule and very attentive, giving us frequent updates. I would definitely recommend her to anyone that needs reassurance their pet is being well looked after with so much love!”

“Jackie and her family were amazing. Our 2 kitties had so much fun and acclimated very quickly to their home. The kids played with the cats, so they got lots of affection and attention. Jackie is a great communicator before and during our trip and she sent photos along the way which gave us peace of mind. I'll definitely go back to Jackie for any pet sitting needs!”

“Scout has only been boarded with one family in the last 4 years. When they cancelled last minute Valerie jumped in with short notice and took Scout in for the weekend. She was great at communicating and sending pictures. I will absolutely use her again!”

“Felicia did a great job with Wrigley! She kept me informed and sent pictures throughout the week. Would highly recommend Felicia and will definitely be contacting her again.”

“We boarded our 2 little guys with Rosarin for several nights and could tell they were very well cared for. We got updates via the app on their days felt relieved they were in excellent care. Would highly recommend!”

“We had never used an outside resource to care for our dog and we were completely surprised. Kimberly was thoughtful and kind and our dog was in amazing hands. She listened and walked us through the process and kept us updated throughout the whole weekend and even sent us pictures. We loved it and we will definitely use Kimberly again - she is awesome!!! Thank you for making our first time so easy.”

“Kimberly is a very good communicator-- promptly responds, sends photos, etc. She was easy-going and flexible when my timing for pick up had to change-- much appreciated! She is a DOG PERSON - loves dogs!”

About: I’ve taken care of my family dog until he passed. He was 16yrs old. I also take care of my sisters dog. He is a Husky/ German Shepard mix. My dog recently passed and I miss walking him. His daily walks were 7am and 6:30pm. I’m also opened to walking your dog on weekends. I have a huge fenced yard and a one floor home to reduce stair climbing for senior dogs. I have a car seat for small dogs and do enjoy taking them on DQ runs with the owners permission.
“Patricia was very responsive and sent plenty of pictures. She took very good care of our gentle giant, 7yr old golden doodle, and I would definitely seek to use her services again. She is awesome to work with. I would highly recommend.”

“My multipoo stayed with Eric over the weekend. Eric sent a photo daily and was always quick to respond to questions. My dog returned home healthy and happy. I highly recommend Eric for boarding! Jan”

“La Toya is very friendly, easy to communicate with and shared lovely pictures of my pup during a last minute sitting request. Her doggies are so sweet as well. Thank you La Toya!”

“Kimberly was great. She made Zues my very skittish lab mix feel right at home. She has a very gentle approach and tons of confidence and a "can do attitude" with a new dog. My daughters could not believe the trust she quickly gained with Zues. He is a dog who loves to pull on his leash and be afraid of strange outside noises to send him hurdling back home. But with Kimberly, he went on many walks and I saw the slack in the leash which we all marveled at!!! He was happy and fed and given great love and attention. I cannot say enough and she helped me out in a big pinch. Kimberly thank you for being the perfect sitter.”

“Erin took my puppy in for boarding super last minute, and I needed her to keep her a few extra days and was supper accommodating with that as well. I got updates daily of my puppy with great pictures. First time leaving puppy with someone overnight, but Erin left me completely at ease. Definitely would recommend to anyone.”

“Kayla was absolutely awesome with Rocky! I knew I made the right choice when I met her for the meet-and-greet. She kept me updated constantly and went above and beyond for him. When Rocky wasn’t eating his meal, she even made him some homemade treats to help spark his appetite🥹 I’ll 100% be booking her again! Highly recommend Kayla!”

“This was Benji's first time with Pennie and it went really well. Pennie was great with Benji and I was comfortable leaving him with her. The meet and greet went well and Benji and her dog got along. She sent pictures and kept me posted on how Benji was doing over the course of the stay. We did an overnight as a trial to see how Benji adjusted and will use Pennie again for dog boarding.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Montgomery
This is our second time leaving our Dobie Diesel with Jennifer, he absolutely loves staying her and her family and I have peace of mind knowing he is having fun, is safe and comfortable with someone that has experience with his breed and takes good care of him! I love getting his pictures at the end of the day while we are on vacation and see him having so much fun playing with other doggie friends 🐶

Erin is outstanding! From the moment you meet her, and are greeted by the cute little chalkboard welcoming each of her furry friends for the day, it is clear she loves her job... And the ones she is caring for. She sends lots of pictures and videos so you know dog is having a great time with friends! Thanks aaron! Booster can't wait to come back!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
