“Katy did a great job taking care of Charlie! I appreciated the pictures and updates while I was gone. I also had a last minute work emergency that would have made drop off before heading to the airport really tough, but Katy was very accommodating and picked Charlie up from my apartment. It was also very rainy while I was gone and I was mentally prepared to pick up a very dirty white dog that needed a bath immediately, so I was pleasantly surprised when I got Charlie and he looked very clean. Thanks Katy!”

“Ashley was great - responsive, organized and sent frequent updates as to how our pup was doing with lots of pictures and videos. We’ve used her twice over the last two weeks and I’m sure we’ll call her again since I know our dog was in good hands.”

“Selena is amazing! Crash is my baby boy and not only did she get him to get comfortable with other dogs but even got him to go on walks with other dogs!! Thank you so much for you amazing hospitality, she sent many pictures and video and updates reassuring me during my time gone. I will definitely be booking with Selena any time I will need boarding.”

“Gave updates every day and took great care of my dog King while I was away. He has liver and ear issues and Balbina gave him ear drops and medicine every day. I felt comfortable leaving even though he was dealing with some medical issues.”

“Brian and his family were awesome. I had some anxiety about leaving my little guy. I received daily updates which came with pictures. I knew he was in a good home when I saw how comfortable he was. When Brian noticed that my little guy hadn’t eaten a lot one day, he added beef broth to his meal. This surely encouraged my little guy to eat. The family enjoyed his stay and he enjoyed them as well. Thank you, Brian and your family for being so accommodating, responsive, and flexible.”

About: Hello! We absolutely love all dogs. We have a beautiful 4 year old Weimaraner who we came into our life as a pup. We also have had two prior to her. We are comfortable with all aged dogs from the feisty puppies to the more quiet seniors. We have lots of experience with young puppies, senior dogs who need medication (oral pills or otherwise), and shy or energetic dogs. Linda even worked as a Vet Tech in high school and was a dog walker in college. We both are retired and love to sit outside with our dog and go for walks. As a visitor to our home, we are open to whatever method you employ for your dog’s safety. We have experience with crate training and are happy to continue those practices if you wish. Otherwise, your dog is free to roam our fenced yard and home. We are both retired, so have lots of time for your pup. Our dog always gets to go out whenever she wants. So will yours. We usually walk our dog in the morning afternoon and evening. If your dog is up to that, we will have her join us. We have a fenced in yard for the dogs to enjoy whenever they want. Our house is very dog friendly. Our dogs are allowed on the furniture. We do not leave any food out and have a dog proof garbage can too.

“Kasey was an exceptional dog sitter! She took great care of our goldendoodle, ensuring she was happy and well-exercised. Her dogs were sweet and friendly to my dog too. Kasey communicated regularly, sending updates and photos that put our minds at ease. Her genuine love for dogs was evident, and we returned home to a relaxed and content dog. Highly recommend her services!”

“Phenomenal Experience with Michele G.! Michele went above and beyond to make sure she had everything in place for a smooth, happy weekend with our fur baby. From the moment we arrived, we could tell she was a genuinely kind and caring person—Skye immediately warmed up to her, tail wagging and full of excitement. Throughout our trip, Michele was always available for quick, friendly communication, which gave us great peace of mind. When we returned, Skye greeted us in high spirits, clearly having enjoyed her time. We’re so grateful for Michele’s attentiveness and warmth, and we will absolutely be rebooking with her in the future. Highly recommend!”

“Liz was a fantastic sitter! She sent us pictures daily and I knew our Parker was having her own mini vacation. She loved playing with their dog Luna and got plenty of love and snuggles.”

“Palvi is very nice and did a great job in taking care of Snoopy over 5 days while we were on vacation. Snoopy is shy, anxious by nature & picky eater. Snoopy got comfortable with her family in short time & had good fun time playing hide & seek with her kids & her pet Corgi. We are so thankful that we found Palvi & would definitely recommend her.”

“Melvin enjoyed his time with Marisol. She kept me up to date with texts and photos. She also purchased optional food when Melvin wasn’t eating his regular food which had never happened before. I’ll use her services again in the future.”

“This was my first time using Rover, and Justine and Brett were great! It looks like my doggo had a good time, and I felt very secure leaving him with Justine and Brett. I got photos every day, and it looked like he was having a blast. My flight home got delayed, and J&B were gracious and flexible. I’ll for sure use them again for dog care.”

“Katie took such amazing care of my pup Max! She sent me daily photos and videos and even gave my little guy a ‘report card’ and treats when I picked him up! I could rule tell she cared very well for him while he was with her and I will book again in the future for sure! Thank you Katie for making Max’s stay so great!!”
“I recently had the pleasure of using Katie as my dog sitter, and I couldn't be happier with the experience! From start to finish, Katie showed a genuine love and care for my furry friend, making me feel completely at ease leaving my dog in their hands. Communication was excellent throughout the entire process. Katie was quick to respond to any questions or concerns I had, and even provided regular updates and photos of my dog during their stay. It was evident that my dog was in good hands, and that gave me peace of mind while I was away. Not only did Katie provide exceptional care, but they also went above and beyond to ensure my dog felt comfortable and happy. They followed my dog's routine perfectly, maintained consistent feeding schedules, and provided plenty of exercise and playtime. My dog was well-taken care of, and it was clear they had a great time with Katie. I highly recommend Katie's services to anyone in need of a reliable and caring dog sitter. Their professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine love for animals make them stand out from the rest. I will definitely be using their services again in the future! Thank you, Katie, for providing such a wonderful dog sitting experience. You exceeded my expectations, and my dog couldn't be happier.”

“I can’t say anything bad about Janet! Yogi stayed with her and her amazing family for almost 2 weeks. Janet was amazing with sending pictures and updates daily which helped a lot. Yogi came home happy and tired from his time with this amazing family! We will be booking with her again!”
“Amazing dog sitter! She sent a bunch of pictures of my dog during his stay and took him on some really nice walks. He seemed really happy when I picked him up. Definitely recommend!”
“We really appreciate Matt and Michelle taking such good care of Lucky for us during our wedding and honeymoon trip. They provided frequent updates and photos, we could tell Lucky became a part of their family and felt comfortable. Would absolutely book again!”

About: My name is Sandra and I’m 28 years old. I have two furry family members; Bonbon, an 11 year old poodle mix, and Wally, a 3 year old collie mix. I currently work as a Dog Groomer, but have about 6 years of experience in the Dog Daycare industry. My past jobs have given me the experience needed to handle and care for dogs of all sizes. They’ve also taught me how to greet an unfamiliar dog, how to do feedings for various dogs, administer medication, and how to detect signs of aggression and fear. With my personal experience and professional experience, I am well equipped to handle dogs in all stages of life. With that being said, It takes patience, hard work, and honesty to care for a dog. My offered services to clients are met with the highest of standards. I believe in giving 100% in all work that I do, meaning you’ll never receive less than excellent care for your best friend. Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Big Rock
Kimberly was so accommodating with Iris. We were staying at one of her camping spots (you can find her place on HipCamp) and had to attend a family event nearby that wasn't dog friendly. Kimberly not only took Iris in, but our pup got to hang with her dogs and get in some healthy playtime. She also has a nice little fenced in dog park on her property. Iris loved getting to check out all of the farm animals as well. We'll definitely be dropping our pup off again if we're in the area. Thanks, Kimberly! And Iris paw-thanks you as well!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
