“Robynn was amazing! She watched Takeo and Tito for us last minute and did such a wonderful job. Even when our doggos were a handful, she handled everything with care and kept us updated the whole time. We felt completely comfortable with her, and our dogs looked so happy and well taken care of. We’re so grateful and would absolutely book with her again!”

“Great experience all along - met all expectations and some more. Very responsive, good attention to detail ( my dog needed some medications to be given), shared pictures every day of the 10-day stay. Above all, my dog seemed very happy being with Kathleen and made new friends :)”

“Great hosts and couple! They took Dexter in on such short notice with welcoming Arms. Definitely going to reach out to them in the future when we’re out of town. Thank you so much!”

“One again, Bibi took fantastic care of my pup! She treated her to a fun filled day at the beach, and Winnie was one tired and happy pup when I picked her up. I couldn't recommend Bibi enough.”

“Our dog Marty had a wonderful stay at Maria’s house. He was all smiles when we picked him up. I would recommend Maria to anyone who likes their dog to have fun interacting with other dogs.”

“Thanks Liz for watching Beau and for being flexible with the wintry weather. We are glad that we found you! It was hard to leave our pet at Christmas time, but we felt comfortable with him in your care.”

“Stephanie was absolutely who we needed for our first time using Rover for our two dogs. A little apprehensive, but completely reassured within two minutes of meeting Stephanie and knowing our boys would be in great hands. We received multiple pictures and updates while we were away. If we need a dog sitter in the future, Stephanie is who we hope to use again!”

“Melvin enjoyed his time with Marisol. She kept me up to date with texts and photos. She also purchased optional food when Melvin wasn’t eating his regular food which had never happened before. I’ll use her services again in the future.”

“Ashley was wonderful with my two pups! She kept me updated with lots of messages and videos, which gave me so much peace of mind. She’s also very detail-oriented, kind, and genuinely cares. Her whole family is so loving- I knew my dogs were in great hands the entire time. Highly recommend!”

“This was the first time I left my dog overnight. Trish sent me photos so I could see that Pennington was safe and happy. She was amazing and I would definitely leave my dog with her if Needed.”

“Glen took great care of our pup Jax while we were gone on a 10 day trip. The photos he sent gave us reassurance that Jax was enjoying his time and going on great walks out in the snow. Jax, who can be a little selective of his playmates, even seemed to get along with his pup Hope. We’d happily use Glen again for boarding.”

About: Dogs bring joy to our daily lives! Growing up with pets, I understand how important it is to make sure they feel safe, happy, and cared for especially when you’re not home. With over six years of experience caring pets for friends, family, and neighbors, I’ve become a trusted sitter who treats every animal like my own. I work a hybrid schedule and live in a pet and family neighborhood, which gives me the flexibility to care for pets throughout the week. My availability is always current, and I’m happy to offer boarding, drop-in visits and dog walking to fit your pet’s needs. My priority is to provide exceptional care for your furry friend! I’ll keep you reassured with plenty of photo updates, ensuring your pet is safe and comfortable while you’re away. I’m also happy to accommodate any specific needs, including dietary requirements, medication, potty breaks, walks, etc.
About: ** I took some time off of Rover and I am back with a limited schedule due to work hours** I am an avid dog lover and dog mom to 2 pups. Most of my life has revolved around dogs and I wouldn’t want it any other way! At a young age, I was trusted by all of the nieghbors to dog sit. After college, I was fortunate enough to foster a few rescues from a local humane society. Fostering dogs was a very rewarding experience as it gave me my 2 babies, Milo and Bear. Unfortunately, Bear and Milo have now passed and I miss them terribly everyday. I currently have a Doberman named Ambrose and an Australian Shepard named Max. They are a bonded pair and have so much energy! I have experience with very large dogs and puppies as young as 2 months old— but I am comfortable with all breeds! I am available for dog walking, house sitting, and drop-in visits. If you would like me to board your dog in my home, I welcome that as well! As long as they are dog friendly; my pups would love a new friend 😊 During the day on weekdays I work a full-time hybird job with flexibility. My in office days are Monday and Tuesday so usually unavailable those days. I am free for walks/drop ins during the week/weekend as well as house sitting. I am a very active person alone and with my own dogs. They get walks 1-2x per day and get lots of exercise in our backyard. I would love to hang out with your pup and play! I will come to you to make them feel more comfortable in their own environment.
“Extremely satisfied with the kindness and care Angelica and her family showed my dog while he stayed with them. He definitely enjoyed himself making new friends. Will be rebooking”

“We needed a sitter last minute for our two dogs and we’re so lucky to have Jessica and David available. They were quick to respond to my request and arranged a meet and greet right away. The best part is the great care my dogs had while we were away for the weekend. They have a great fenced in yard so my dogs were able to be outside and be active and play. Jessica and David were very communicative with pictures and videos so we felt very comfortable being away. We highly recommend them to care for your pooches!”

“Brian and his family were awesome. I had some anxiety about leaving my little guy. I received daily updates which came with pictures. I knew he was in a good home when I saw how comfortable he was. When Brian noticed that my little guy hadn’t eaten a lot one day, he added beef broth to his meal. This surely encouraged my little guy to eat. The family enjoyed his stay and he enjoyed them as well. Thank you, Brian and your family for being so accommodating, responsive, and flexible.”

About: Dogs have always been a part of my life. I understand how important it is to leave your pet with someone you trust, and I take that responsibility seriously by providing loving, reliable care and plenty of attention. I work from home, which means your dog will be with me for most of the day. This allows me to closely follow their routine and provide attentive, reliable care. Your dog’s safety is my top priority. I maintain a safe, supervised environment and have a friendly Cavapoo who can be a great companion for your pup.
“Balbina was great! We left Simba with her for 2 weeks while we were out of the country. She took good care of our Simba and sent daily pictures and videos along with updates on his activities etc. I would highly recommend Balbina to anyone looking for dog care.”

Haley was so wonderful to my little fur baby Leo. I was mostly wondering if he'd still like me when I got back! She was so caring and excercised him so well. She made sure he was well fed and watered! She made sure he was cool when it was hot out. She made sure he wasn't alone in the thunderstorms and fireworks. A true dog guardian!

If you’re looking for someone who will love and care for your dog like family, I can’t recommend Jessica and her husband enough! We recently left our dog, Jessie AKA Jester, with them while we traveled to Hawaii to visit our son, who is serving in the Army and finishing his training. Jessie is actually our son’s dog, and we’ve been caring for him while he’s away with his military duties. Since Jessie had never been boarded before and hadn’t been around many other dogs, we were a little nervous. We even told him he was going to “summer camp” where he’d make lots of new friends—and that’s exactly what happened! He had an amazing time socializing with dogs of all sizes, and it was such a positive experience for him. Throughout the week, Jessica kept us updated with messages and numerous videos, which gave us so much peace of mind. It was clear that she and her husband genuinely love what they do and truly care about every dog in their care. When we picked Jessie up, he was happy, relaxed, and well cared for. He went straight to the groomer and then home for some well-deserved rest while we recovered from our jet lag! We are so grateful for the excellent care Jessie received and will absolutely be using Jessica and her husband again. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy, loving, and dependable place to board their dog! Nancy and Tom
My dog Peaches stayed with Morgan and Ross for a second boarding. They were wonderful taking care of her. She is always happy and very well cared for. Morgan sent lots of pictures and updates which always puts my mind at ease that our girl is safe, happy and loved while we were away.

This was our first time leaving our pup for more than a day and Jill was so reassuring that Remi would be just fine! And she was! Our corgi is still very much a pup and has lots of energy so we always worry about her inability to relax and recharge. Jill sent multiple pics of her relaxing and settling in which made us feel much better!! Remi came home worn out (in the best way) and seemed like she had the best time. Thank you, Jill!!!

Jenny did a great job caring for our senior dog. She communicated well and sent photos. She was very understanding of older dog issues, gave pills, and asked if I wanted her to add a little chicken to our dog’s food when she wasn’t eating much. Jenny was flexible when our flight was late. I was very pleased

We needed a sitter last minute for our two dogs and we’re so lucky to have Jessica and David available. We highly recommend them to care for your pooches!

Jon & Wendi provided a comfortable and fun stay for our Wrigley! Their knowledge from having their own Golden Retrievers along with their fun quirks that come along with really helped in deciding who would care for her for a weekend stay. They provided reassurance and were very understanding of our concerns for her being a very anxious pup and attentive to her needs. They went above and beyond and provided her with her own personal fan for the stay and provided plenty of stimulation with walks and playtime with their children. She came home and went right to bed, she had so much fun! A tired pup is a happy pup! Will definitely be utilizing them again as her home away from home!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
