“This is my third time leaving my dog with Vanessa, and I couldn’t be happier. My pup gets so excited every time we arrive at her house ! She cares for him with so much love, follows all feeding instructions, takes him on walks, and sends daily photos and videos. It’s such a comfort seeing him so happy and relaxed with her and her family ,it definitely eases the guilt while you're away on vacation Thank you, Vanessa, for taking such wonderful care of my little one !”

“This is my first time doing Rover. So I had no clue what to expect. Katie and Timothy were caring ,kind and attentive hosts. Chloe the chihuahua had a great time. She would love to stay with them again. Amazing people.”

“Maria did a great job but what i appreciated was administering my guy's medicine and most of all staying up late to hand off my dog when my flight was badly delayed. Thanks again Maria”

“Balbina took excellent care of my dog while I was out of town. He was in high spirits when I picked him up, and she kept me updated throughout his stay. Will rebook in the future.”

“Our dogs came home happy and clearly enjoyed every minute of their stay with you. Thank you so much for taking such excellent care of our fur babies. We really appreciate the wonderful attention and love you gave them.”

“Viri and her family were great! She accommodated my last minute booking during the holidays! She did an excellent job, was flexible, updated with pictures and my dog seemed to enjoy himself.”

“Melvin enjoyed his time with Marisol. She kept me up to date with texts and photos. She also purchased optional food when Melvin wasn’t eating his regular food which had never happened before. I’ll use her services again in the future.”

“Taylor and Samuel were amazing and took very good care of our dog. They made sure to send pictures and give updates and clearly enjoyed having him around. I would definitely recommend and book with them again!”

“Morgan watched my dog, Peaches, for 5 nights and took care of her just like she was her own. She sent frequent updates, photos and videos. It was so great to see how happy and well loved she was while our family was away. Peaches got lots of exercise, playtime and cuddles too. I would definitely book with Morgan again to care for our pup!”

“Lizzie took exceptional care of my dog for five days, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. El is a sensitive dog who needs time to warm up to new people, but Lizzie was incredibly patient, understanding, and attentive from the very beginning. She took the time to earn El's trust and made sure she felt comfortable and safe throughout stay. What I appreciated most was Lizzie's communication. Lizzie sent photos every day and provided regular updates on how El was doing, which gave me tremendous peace of mind while I was away. It was clear from the updates that she genuinely cared about El's well-being and was paying close attention to El's needs. When I picked El up, she looked happy, relaxed, and well cared for. It's not easy to find someone who can connect with a sensitive dog, but Lizzie did an amazing job. I would absolutely trust her with El again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, compassionate, and professional pet sitter.”

“Mera was incredible with my dog Winston. He is an older dog and Mera went above and beyond to make sure he was comfortable and well taken care of. I am very thankful to Rover for connecting me with Mera!”

About: Hi, I'm Rowan! I provide specialized pet care for cats and dogs based on their unique needs! I offer boarding, house sitting, drop in visits, daycare, and dog walking. Does your pet need a lot of attention? Cuddles? Quiet time? Medication or monitoring? Whether your pet is energetic, elderly, or has special needs, I'm trained and equipped to make sure they get exactly what they need. I guarantee personalized pet care exceeding industry standards, quick and clear communication, and a positive experience for you and your furry family. My experience: I have several years of professional experience working at luxury dog daycare and boarding facilities. In these roles, I provided around the clock animal care, administered medications, provided special services for senior and disabled dogs, and more. I've also volunteered hundreds of hours as an animal care attendant and dog walker at animal shelters and non-profits like Tails. In addition to this, I have a lifetime of personal experience caring for cats and dogs for friends, colleagues, and neighbors! About me: I'm currently finishing my final semester (virtually) as a graduate student in cultural anthropology. During my BA program in environmental studies, I took multiple classes on animal behavior and animal ethics, so caring for animals is a long term passion of mine! Outside of that, I love painting, doing ceramics, and reading sci-fi novels. :) I'm currently a graduate student in cultural anthropology finishing my final semester virtually. My schedule is extremely flexible and I'm able to respond quickly to whatever you or your pet need! For boarding: I live in a small apartment next to a big park where your pup can get plenty of outside time. I'm happy to play, cuddle, give space, go for walks, or provide anything else your pet needs. Due to the size of my apartment, quiet dogs are preferred. For House sitting: When in your home, I'll follow all your instructions exactly and provide prompt communication. I'm also happy to send regular updates with pictures of your pet. :)
“Kevin is the most reliable dog sitter ever! My dog was well cared for and happy. Kevin sent pictures and updates periodically while I was away. Definitely recommend his services and will definitely use again.”

About: Dogs bring joy to our daily lives! Growing up with pets, I understand how important it is to make sure they feel safe, happy, and cared for especially when you’re not home. With over six years of experience caring pets for friends, family, and neighbors, I’ve become a trusted sitter who treats every animal like my own. I work a hybrid schedule and live in a pet and family neighborhood, which gives me the flexibility to care for pets throughout the week. My availability is always current, and I’m happy to offer boarding, drop-in visits and dog walking to fit your pet’s needs. My priority is to provide exceptional care for your furry friend! I’ll keep you reassured with plenty of photo updates, ensuring your pet is safe and comfortable while you’re away. I’m also happy to accommodate any specific needs, including dietary requirements, medication, potty breaks, walks, etc.
“Brian and his family are amazing! He is patient, attentive and caring. This was my second time using rover, and needed someone last min, he was flexible and communicative, and sent tons of updates and pics that helped put my mind at ease. I highly recommend!”
About: I’ve had pets my whole life, and I love caring for animals! I’m willing to do anything to be the best “critter sitter” for you and your family. My husband and I moved to Batavia this summer from Chicago, and I’d love to care for your pets as I build my community here! I work full time with a nonprofit in Aurora, but I am able to utilize my lunch break for dog walking needs or drop-in visits! For week days, I’m available before 8am and after 5pm. We also have a fenced-in yard if you’d prefer your dog come to our home. I have been a pet sitter many times in other homes and for my parents’ animals. I will take time to play and walk them, and of course attentively feed and clean up after them. I do not currently have pets in my home.

“This was Benji's first time with Pennie and it went really well. Pennie was great with Benji and I was comfortable leaving him with her. The meet and greet went well and Benji and her dog got along. She sent pictures and kept me posted on how Benji was doing over the course of the stay. We did an overnight as a trial to see how Benji adjusted and will use Pennie again for dog boarding.”

“Justine was extremely generous with her time and provided a safe and loving environment for our senior dog who is 15 years old and blind. I did not want our dog to be in a setting with too many other dogs which would make him nervous and on top of that he takes medications. This was a family style setting and Justine and her family treated my dog like family. That’s the best quality experience you could ask for.”

The median cost per night for pet boarding in North Aurora is $50
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - North Aurora
We had such a great experience with Morgan and Ross! They were wonderful with Beau and truly treated him like their own! They were great about communicating and sending updates the entire time we were gone, which made us feel at ease. Beau also loved hanging out with their pups Griz and Presley :)

Haley was so wonderful to my little fur baby Leo. I was mostly wondering if he'd still like me when I got back! She was so caring and excercised him so well. She made sure he was well fed and watered! She made sure he was cool when it was hot out. She made sure he wasn't alone in the thunderstorms and fireworks. A true dog guardian!

Jenny did a great job caring for our senior dog. She communicated well and sent photos. She was very understanding of older dog issues, gave pills, and asked if I wanted her to add a little chicken to our dog’s food when she wasn’t eating much. Jenny was flexible when our flight was late. I was very pleased

We needed a sitter last minute for our two dogs and we’re so lucky to have Jessica and David available. They were quick to respond to my request and arranged a meet and greet right away. The best part is the great care my dogs had while we were away for the weekend. They have a great fenced in yard so my dogs were able to be outside and be active and play. Jessica and David were very communicative with pictures and videos so we felt very comfortable being away. We highly recommend them to care for your pooches!

Jon & Wendi provided a comfortable and fun stay for our Wrigley! Their knowledge from having their own Golden Retrievers along with their fun quirks that come along with really helped in deciding who would care for her for a weekend stay. They provided reassurance and were very understanding of our concerns for her being a very anxious pup and attentive to her needs. They went above and beyond and provided her with her own personal fan for the stay and provided plenty of stimulation with walks and playtime with their children. She came home and went right to bed, she had so much fun! A tired pup is a happy pup! Will definitely be utilizing them again as her home away from home!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
