“Glen was available very last minute to walk our pup. He responded quickly to messages, came at the right time, and sent a photo and an update after the walk. I’d recommend Glen and would book again!”

“Sydney was amazing! She took such great care of Toshi during his walks, and he looked so happy in all the photos she sent. She kept me updated, was very communicative, and has such a positive attitude. You can really tell how much she loves animals. I’m so glad I chose her, and I’ll definitely book with her again. I highly recommend Sydney!”

“Absolutely amazing! Above and beyond, I’m so happy to have found Clay. So great and loving with my dog, fantastic communication and always been very reliable. Highly recommend!”

“Just another endorsement for the time, effort, and love that Stephanie brings to the pets in her care. We've worked with some great dog walkers over the years, but Stephanie's big heart and her special nature truly shine a bit more than the rest.”

“Jessica has been great with our dog, Bear. He has some behavioral issues we are working on, but Jessica has been confident and caring with him. She is dependable and provides great feedback after their walks.”

About: My expertise and background lie in zoo and wildlife biology. For the past 10+ years, I’ve worked with a number of reputable animal and wildlife properties, including shelters, nature centers (e.g., Indiana Dunes State Park and Lyman Woods Interpretive Center), wildlife rehab. facilities (e.g., Willowbrook Wildlife Center), and zoological societies (e.g., Safari Lake Geneva). I have an unparalleled passion for animals of all breeds and species, possessing direct experience with the following: dogs, cats, rodents, herps, birds, malacostracans, arachnids, and various hooved mammals (horses, giraffes, camels, donkeys, zebras, antelope, etc.). Our family has also owned a diverse array of critters, great and small; my husband and I have been proud rat parents (very heartbreaking that they only live a few years) and are current rescue parents of a leopard gecko, bearded dragon, and albino Florida kingsnake! As a part-time sitter, I am well-versed in walking, bathing, feeding, and administering medication. For the time being, I am working through Rover part-time on my days off. What better way to spend my free time than to love on pets? :) I’m happy to walk, bathe, feed, and provide medication if need be to your pet. I especially enjoy playtime (e.g. fetch) whether within my client's home, in a fenced-in yard, or at a local park.

About: I'm a stay at home mom looking to help others with their pets while they're hoping to get away. I'm happy to help with cats & dogs, since I've always had a dog and/or a cat since I was little. I'm a stay at home mom with older kids, so I can work almost any schedule that works for you during the week, including weekends. I have an amazing almost 8 yr old pittie & two 3 yr old females cats so I won't be able to board anyone else's pets, BUT I'd be happy to come hang out & care for yours.
About: I have walked dogs for a very large part of my life. I spent a summer a couple years ago walking my neighbor's dog, and I spent a year and a half volunteering at the Naperville Area Humane Society where I cleaned kennels, socialized with dogs, and took the dogs out for walks. This means I have experience handling dogs who are a little stressed out, or who are unfamiliar with me. I am available all days of the week over the summer, unless I am traveling. I am willing to spend as much time as needed with your dog each visit. My experience at the shelter means I am able to listen and understand your dogs needs. If they are uncomfortable in a situation, I know how to get them out of it.
About: My dad is a veterinarian so I’m experienced with pets of all kinds! I’ve been walking and pet sitting in my neighborhood since early middle school. The pictures on my profile are just some of the animals I’ve cared for in the past. I’m happy to take some cute check-in photos if you request it :) I’m currently a senior studying at the University of Miami. I would love to spend my free time giving your pet the best care possible! I have a two level apartment with a dog park and great neighborhood for walks! I’m happy to follow whatever schedule is most familiar and comfortable for your pet. I’ll provide you with my phone number, and you’re welcome to check in with me at any point!
About: I am passionate about animal husbandry. I have had extensive training in the care of dogs, horses, cats, small mammals, fish and birds. I've an associate's degree in equine science (horses). I've had hands on experience since I was 9 years old handling horses and dogs/cats plus any other precious critter I could care for. I know dog breeds, and cat breeds and the ingrained traits they are born with. I've had bite prevention training and have had the privilege of working with so many wonderful breeds! It's becoming hard to even have a favorite breed when they are all so fascinating in there own way..meaning I love them all big or small! I am accepting dog walking jobs on weekends and then as my availability becomes open I will modify my schedule, and at times be accepting same day bookings. I'm flexible to the situation and the homeowners comfort level and needs. Playtime and exercise are big in my home. I regularly clean up after my pets and have no problem cleaning messes.
About: I’ve worked in the animal industry in management for the past 12 years and what a fun time it has been. I worked in the hospital industry for 6 years and switched a few years ago to a hotel for pets! Plus I am a dog trainer! I am very experienced with administering medications, basic grooming services, and overall pet care for your furry friends. I can’t wait to meet your fur friend! I am at home during the weekends, but can come home during my work day as I work close to home. I am home by 3 PM when I go into work! I will always make sure they have a happy, safe, and fun environment to stay. I am a very organized and clean individual and will love on your babies as if they were my own.

Gillian was absolutely amazing with my Dalmatian I would definitely recommend her over and over again. She put my little guy at ease and he always came back smiling and he would hug her when she got here, so I would say he’s a very happy client, that adored her. Thanks Gillian! We appreciate you!

Lauren is an exceptional walker with unmatched qualifications. Her level of care goes beyond anything that any other walker can provide. I've had great experiences with every dog walker we've had over the years on Rover, including Lauren. Every walker has been highly reliable, compassionate, and a good communicator - including Lauren. But Lauren is also an experienced veterinary nurse, which makes her combined qualifications entirely unmatched in my experience. Having previously owned a mature business, one of the many perks was being able to choose who I worked with. Being able to turn away a prospective customer - or letting go a current customer - is a reward for any successful business owner or practitioner. Consider yourself fortunate if your dog is in Lauren's great care.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
