“Allison is awesome. She walks my dog, Binx 3-4 times a week while I’m at work, and she’s been absolutely wonderful. She’s also so pleasant and communicates extremely well. She is always incredibly accommodating whenever I need to adjust a walk time and is always understanding. My dog is always excited to see her, It’s clear she genuinely cares about the dogs she works with. I highly recommend Allison 10/10”

About: I grew up with my family’s various rescue cats and dogs, so I’ve always been an animal lover. Since childhood, I’ve also enjoyed pet sitting for friends, family members, and neighbors whenever I’ve had the opportunity to do so. I’ve mainly looked after cats and dogs, but I also have experience caring for birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, horses, and a couple of different types of lizards. I have some experience with training my family’s pets, and lots of experience with giving love to animals of all kinds! I donate 5% of my profits from each Rover booking towards humane societies and animal rescue organizations. I’m currently a full-time college student, so the remainder of the money I make on Rover is set aside and used to afford care for my own cat. During the school year, I’m a full-time student at the University of Vermont and, when I’m not in classes or doing Rover visits, I’m often spending time with my own cat! I spend summers, and most other school breaks, at home with my family in IL. This summer will be my third year working part-time as an inclusion aid for children with disabilities and special needs in summer camps. My weekday mornings are spent there, but the rest of my schedule is more flexible, so I’m looking forward to doing more afternoon and evening Rover visits! I recognize that every animal is unique and has their own wants and needs, and it’s important to me to ensure that your pet is as comfortable, happy, and healthy as they can be while you’re away! I’m happy to follow any instructions you have to care for your pet and your home. If there are any particular precautions you want me to take, or if there’s anything else I can help out with (e.g. bringing in mail, putting out trash cans, etc.) while you’re away, just ask!
“Beth was great! We have a large dog who can be pretty skittish around new people, especially those entering the house. When Beth came through they became fast friends as our dog, Brandy, eased up to Beth almost immediately. Highly recommend Beth!”

“I'm home with a fractured toe so I get to see how happy my dog is when he sees Amy! It's nearly a week since she started. She's always on time and takes him on nice long walks.”

“Thanks for taking such a good care of our dog ! Our dog loves to spend time with Madison and go for a walk ❤️ she gives her all the loving , care and a ton of belly rubs ❤️💝”

“Caraline takes really good care of my little girl, Paisley. She provides pics of their daily walks, which I really love. I can say that Caraline's passionate about caring for fur babies.”

“I cannot speak highly enough of Morgan. Most recently, I used her for daily walks for a foster dog that I had. Despite the challenge of walking a dog neither of us knew well, she was always so kind and patient. Her excellent communication skills were also greatly appreciated as I wanted to ensure I was getting any important information on this foster dog. I definitely plan to continue using her!”
About: I am a veterinary technician with 8 years experience in the field.(we’re pretty much nurses for pets). I've loved animals since I was little and care for them as a living. I can work with any types of animals, such as small animals, reptiles and of course dogs and cats. I have 3 dogs, a cat and a snake myself. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask! I typically work Monday-Wednesday 7am-6pm. Sometimes I can come home during the day, just depending on my schedule at work. I am free and home almost all weekends. I have a fenced in yard, 3 loving dogs and cat as well. My house has plenty of space. I am located in a safe and quiet neighborhood.

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life and truly love being around them. I know how important it is to make sure pets feel safe, happy, and cared for while their owners are away. I’m patient, responsible, and will treat your dog like my own by giving them plenty of attention, playtime, walks, and lots of love. I’m currently a college student and work part-time, so I have a flexible schedule. I’m available for drop-in visits and walks most weekdays and weekends. I’ll always make sure your pet gets plenty of attention, exercise, and love while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I’ll follow your pet’s routine, feeding schedule, and any special instructions carefully. I treat every pet like they’re my own and make sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away.
“John was wonderful with both our dogs! He was on time, got to know them first, and won them over very quickly. Even our older dog who is very skittish took to John immediately for a walk this week. Would highly recommend!”

“Juliana was incredibly responsive and really awesome with keeping us updated. She was kind enough to meet us and Abby before the day of the bookings and put us all at ease.”

About: I started taking care and training dogs when I was 13. My parents rescued my dog Luna when I was 14 and I took care of her every day and trained her, she even understands Spanish! She is the sweetest dog ever but I currently don’t live with her anymore. I also enjoy taking care of kids and I am very patient and confident in my ability to handle anything. I love to teach and I am very passionate about what I do. Once I start something I work hard to become better everyday. I am currently on summer break so I have plenty of free time. I am fully committed to working Monday-Saturday mostly from 8am-9pm. My current schedule is simple. I go to the gym from 9-11:30am and pretty much free the rest of the day. I have a part time job and I work every other week Sat-Sun from 4-10. I have a really flexible schedule so feel free to ask any questions! I would usually take my dog out for her first walk at 8 in the morning. I would take her out for at least 15min and repeat this every 3/4 hours. After her first walk I fed her breakfast, sometimes I’d crack an egg on top or drizzle honey which is great for dogs, and I fed her twice a day. If it was muddy outside I would clean her paws and fur after. I would play with her and teach her new tricks every now and then. If her breath was bad I would brush her teeth at night. I loved cuddling and sleeping with her and I would do everything to make sure she was happy.

Emily has been walking/caring for my pup, Gino, for 2 years now and she is the absolute best! She is very flexible and accommodating with my crazy work schedule, communicative and so caring! She’s done house sitting as well as multiple weekly walks for the past two years & always willing to help with the occasional medications when needed! My Gino absolutely adores her! I highly recommend Emily!

Amanda was a lifesaver! My dog had an unexpected medical condition that required medication right before our spring break vacation. Amanda was able to assist with administering daily medication and walks. The care and attention provided has been so important for our dog’s recovery.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
