“Our dog loved her time with Ashley. She felt 100% at home which was very important to me. I tried a pet store doggy day care previously and it was overwhelming to my dog, she was not happy when I picked her up. When I picked her up from Ashley she was so happy and I could tell she had a great day. Ashley sent pictures. was very responsive, and she was very accommodating. I will definitely be booking with her again!!!”

Neelank and his wife were very flexible for the drop-off/pick-up time at their place. They have sent me a lot of pictures from Snoopy playing and having such a good time. I definitely recommend them as a 5 stars daycare. Thank you so much for caring for Snoopy like he was your own dog !”

About: I have taken care of dogs for over 30 years and treat them as family. I take in puppies and senior dogs and have had dogs of my own for many years. I lost my dog but love taking care of others. I am at home and devote all my time and energy to dogs. I do not work and am here 24/7 for them. I will care for them like my own. I live on a golf course with a walking path for dogs. I also will take them out anytime of the day or night. They are very special to me.
About: I’m looking to help keep my 4 yr old, friendly pup company on occasion. I’m good with dogs and have trained my own. I’m not working outside the house, but do care for my elderly mother who lives close. This has me I’m out during the day, at times, but I have a fairly flexible schedule. I’m available most days and weekends. I have a fenced in yard and a 4-yr old pup to keep your dog company. I can take them in walks, weather permitting.
“Danielle was absolutely phenomenal.! She truly went above and beyond of what I expected of care for King. She was very comfortable and knowledgeable of his breed and handled him with great care & even thought me a few training points. So thankful for her and accepting my booking at such short notice as well. 10/10 ⭐️”

About: Hi there! We’re a family of four who have loved and cared for dogs for more than 20 years. Our two boys are now off at college, and our home has gotten a little quieter—especially after we lost our dog last fall. While we’re planning to adopt again in the future, we’d love to fill that space by caring for other dogs in the meantime. We have extensive experience with large, active, high-energy dogs, so daily exercise, structure, and playtime are second nature to us. Long walks, outdoor time, and keeping dogs mentally and physically engaged are all part of our routine. Our home has a secure fenced-in yard for safe outdoor play, and we’re active walkers 5–6 days a week, so your dog will get plenty of exercise and fresh air. There is also a work-from-home adult in the house most days of the week, which means your dog will have lots of supervision, companionship, and attention throughout the day. We can’t wait to meet your pup! 🐾 We have a work-from-home adult in the house most days of the week, so dogs are rarely left alone and get plenty of attention and supervision throughout the day. We’re also active walkers 5–6 days a week, so regular walks and outdoor time are already part of our routine. Because our kids are now away at college, our schedule is flexible and our home is fairly quiet, which allows us to give visiting dogs plenty of time, care, and companionship. Between walks, time in our fenced-in yard, and relaxing inside, dogs staying with us will get a great balance of activity and comfort. Your dog’s safety and comfort are our top priorities. In our home, dogs are treated like part of the family. We provide a calm, clean, and structured environment where they can relax while still getting plenty of exercise and attention. We have a secure fenced-in yard for safe outdoor play and bathroom breaks, and dogs are always supervised while outside. Because there is a work-from-home adult in the house most days of the week, your dog will receive consistent supervision, companionship, and care throughout the day. We are experienced with large, active dogs and understand the importance of regular exercise, routine, and positive interaction. Dogs staying with us will enjoy daily walks, playtime, and plenty of affection, while also having comfortable indoor space to rest. We follow each pet owner’s instructions closely, including feeding schedules, medications if needed, and any specific routines that help your dog feel at home. Our goal is to make your dog feel safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. 🐾

Bhargavi is amazing! My husband and I unfortunately couldn’t have children so we decided to get Teddy to complete our family. Teddy is everything to us. We want the best for him and are so lucky to have met Bhargavi. She is very patient and deeply cares for Teddy. Bhargavi is quick to answer questions or concerns and communicates with us at all times. We enjoy seeing her videos and photos that she sends regularly. Bhargavi is a great pet sitter and will make your pet feel comfortable and loved. We are grateful to have her in our lives.

Susan took amazing care of my slightly rambunctious puppy (2 months old). She is very good with providing updates and it is very reassuring that she has a love for dogs and has lots of experience taking care of them. She is the perfect person to care for your pets! Overall great experience and it was clear that my puppy enjoyed being in her care for the day. Thank you, Susan!

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
