“Ann is great with my little senior guy. He can be a bit finicky with strangers but warmed up to her quickly. We are very grateful for her flexible schedule and great communication!”

“We needed someone to drop by the house and let our 2 big dogs out for several days and wanted to give Rover a try. I met with Stephanie beforehand and exchanged a house key. She was courteous, respectful and responsible! I highly recommend booking with Stephanie! She sent daily pics of the dogs and gave a glowing review of their behavior and how her visit went. This made me so happy that they were well taken care of while I was away. I was reassured that my dogs were in great hands and that Stephanie was capable of handling these bullies. Thank you a million!”

“Caraline is amazing, we were so happy with how she took care of my two cats and are so excited to have her watch them again later this month. She is so patient, always sends photos and updates, follows every care instruction and brings so much peace of mind while traveling or being anxiously away from your pets. Her calm energy and love for animals has even made my extremely timid cat open up and initiate contact and play with her. She left areas cleaner than they were found and was eager to help outside of what was initially asked, including cleaning up cat litter/waste my cats dragged outside of their litter boxes without asking. I definitely recommend her and will be using her as a regular cat sitter!”

“Amanda watched our cat for the first while we were gone for the holiday she did such a wonderful job with her. She played with her and followed all the directions perfectly! Amanda was so kind to bring our mail in as well and offered to take our garbage cans. We appreciate her making us feel comfortable leaving her alone. We will definitely be using her service again!”

“So glad we found Sarah on Rover! She is a delightful young lady who is meticulous in her care of our pups. She is responsive and caring. Keeps us informed via texts and pics, and we are totally at ease when she cares for them. Highly recommend💕”

“Heather was absolutely wonderful! She responded quickly and was able to stop by on just a few hours' notice, which was such a relief. She took great care of my dogs and kept me updated throughout. It’s clear she genuinely loves animals and treats them like her own. I’m so grateful for her flexibility and care—definitely someone I’ll be booking again!”

“John was wonderful with our energetic boxer puppy! I highly recommend him. When we came home, she greeted us with excitement and love as usual. Then she ran around our house looking for her new friend, John!”

“Juliana was absolutely fantastic! We had a meet and greet and I knew I could trust her with my dogs. She stopped by and walked my dogs for the week and came right when she said she would and provided updates and pictures every day. When I needed an extra visit on the last day, she was able to do so with very short notice. I am so happy to have found her and will definitely use her in future when needed. Thank you Juliana!”

“Amy is wonderful !! This was my first time using this service . My dog is a 15-year-old Chihuahua and i was very nervous that my dog would be scared, but Amy was wonderful with her. There is nothing like peace of mind while you were on a trip, knowing that your animal is being well taken care of . She also kept me updated with pictures and texts of my dog. I will absolutely be calling on Amy in the future!!”

“I know Millie is in good hands when Jessica comes over. Jessica will always leave me a note and pictures of Millie which I am grateful for. She is reliable and prompt and takes great care of our fur baby.”

“Carlen was great! She helped ease our minds by doing meet and greets prior to the booking and was very flexible when we needed to modify plans the day before. Happy our girls were in good hands with her!”

“Mollie was so good with our boys! She gave great notes and sent plenty of pics. She even added a personal touch of taking Polaroids of them for us! Definitely would recommend her!”

“Jenna did a great job watching our resident and foster cats, and watering my outdoor plants. She was on time for our meet and greet and followed the instructions that we provided to her. She communicated clearly with questions and updates. I would definitely recommend Jenna to someone looking for reliable, drop in cat care!”

Audrey was wonderful with Ruxin! She was very communicative throughout the stay, and we really appreciated all the pictures and videos she shared. It gave us peace of mind knowing Ruxin was well cared for. I would definitely recommend Audrey and would be happy to book with her again! Thank you!!

All was in order when I returned home around 4:30. The dogs were let out around 9:30 a.m. and early afternoon. Jess texted just after 5 that she was preparing for the final check in of the day, but I replied that I’d returned home on schedule and the visit wouldn’t be necessary.
Gabriella is fantastic with our young dog! We've had Gabriella over a few times for our energetic German Shepherd who can be quite a handful, and she is so kind and patient with him. Allowing someone into your home and allowing someone to take care of your pet is a big step, and we'd never used Rover before. Gabriella made me feel much more comfortable with the process and it has worked out so well. Thank you Gabriella!

We recently moved to Northern Illinois from downstate and were nervous about leaving our older cat overnight. As soon as we met Nicole, those fears vanished. Nicole clearly has a natural gift in working with animals. Our female cat trusted her immediately. Nicole communicated with us appropriately, followed our instructions, and made a new friend in Grace. We had a wonderful weekend away. Thank you, Nicole!

Jeff have been a fantastic part of our lives for the past year and a half. Jeff took such great care of Nuri, and he was a true professional. He was incredibly flexible and understanding whenever we had a last-minute change to our work schedules, which we appreciated so much. We’re so grateful for everything he's done and will miss him! Any dog would be lucky to have him.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
